Juqi is a Beijing-style Chinese restaurant in Flushing. The ambience is very beautiful inside with Chinese decorations. Quick and kind, very attentive service. I was really impressed at how clean the food tasted and how the ingredients really shined. The sesame cabbage, Chinese broccoli, and fried eggplant were some of my favorite dishes - I think their vegetable dishes really shine here. The braised pork belly and peking duck were good! Not my favorite, the duck was presented very beautifully and I enjoyed the wraps and variety of fillings - unique and unlike other peking duck places I have had before.
Good service and clean environment. Peking duck skin not crispy enough and prefer buns rather than wraps. The wrap was too thick and pretty tasteless. Love they reuse the bone to make another dish either stir fry, salt & pepper or soup. We chose soup which was a light end to meal. Lamb cumin was definitely the better dish in my opinion. Should order side of rice because it's a flavor bomb. Get mild spicy if you can't handle spice. Also ordered sour cabbage which might be too sour for some people. It helped cut through the heaviness of meats. Overall worth the try but wont come back.

I make sure to come here every time I'm in the area (last time was 4 years ago). Taste and quality are great and consistent with what I remember and each dish is beautifully presented. Servers are attentive and made sure to ask about any dietary restrictions. Restaurant has lots of memorabilia on display which is interesting to peruse.
After having a not-so-great lunch today at a nearby Chinese restaurant down the block, I said to myself, "Why not make it better by having a second lunch at Juqi?" I was craving wheat gluten, so we decided to stop in--and I'm so glad we did! We were seated immediately upon walking in. I ordered the Braised Wheat Gluten with Shrimp and a white rice, while Hubby had the homemade dumplings. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, but my wheat gluten dish truly stood out! It was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I had been craving. The entire team was professional, friendly, and welcoming. Selena was especially outstanding--she was warm and courteous and made us feel very well taken care of throughout our meal. Needless to say, we left happy and completely satisfied. It was the perfect way to turn a disappointing lunch into a much better dining experience. We're so glad we came here for our second lunch!

Juqi is an upscale Chinese spot in the Tangram mall with a huge menu and flavorful dishes! To get in the waitlist, you can use Minitable or sign up on the iPad with the hostess. The inside decor is super nice and reminds me of places like CheLi and Szechuan Mountain House so it's great for a nice dinner out. I did also see they had a ton of private room space in the back for events. We tried a few dishes here but my favorite was the Royal Style Barbeque Lamb! The portion was huge with the meat being super juicy, tender, flavorful and had a mild spiciness to it.
I think this place totally lives up to the hype!! delicious duck and non duck dishes!! best to go in a group to order a lot and def make a res!
Came here again with a larger party. We booked a private room this time for a party of 10. The space is great, especially with kids who like to get out of their seats. The room was very quiet, almost too quiet; great for our family get together where conversation is to be had - but I can imagine that it can be awkwardly quiet. Food is solid once again. Duck is excellent, but was not the highlight. My favorite dish has to be the eggplant, so not skip! The Boston lobster was prepared to perfection. Stone crab disappeared the moment it was set down. My kids loved the fried fish and the fried shrimp. Service was excellent. The seats in the private room are very grand wooden chairs, not the most comfortable, it they are an incredible statement piece to the room. Definitely recommend private room for big parties. Spending minimum is around $750 I think?
Back again to this absolutely delicious Beijing-style Chinese food! The Peking duck is the star , they bring the whole duck to the table and carve it right in front of you. The skin is incredibly crispy, and you wrap the tender slices in thin pancakes with cucumber and that delicious sauce. So good! There are tons of other dishes to choose from, the staff is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend
4 stars for overall service and food. The ordering on the iPad was interesting as the menu was in Chinese. Thankful for the one line descriptions and photos to match. This hot spot, located on the first floor of Tangram Mall, is bustling with crowds on the weekends. They do not take reservations unless you want to book the private rooms or The Birdcage. There is a minimum spend to be in each room so choose wisely. The room we were seated in had a minimum spend of $500. Before you confirm your order, a staff member needs to come by and re-confirm your order, especially to ensure you spent the minimum. There were some very unique dishes and curiosity got the better of us - a few were hit or miss. The misses: hot mustard with cabbage, it was a spicy mustard (like wasabi kind of dry heat, where the heat clears your sinuses). And there was way too much mustard in general, on top. The other dish that was almost a miss, the plum cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes were sweet but skin was still on so the plum brine doesn't absorb too much into the tomato. This is an overall refreshing dish for the summer months since it's served cold. The hits: that full portion of Peking duck served in a fancy presentation like a jewelry trunk with drawers. Each compartment or drawer held a treasure to speak. The cut up duck meat, super moist, the garnish of julienned cucumbers and scallions, the delicious sauce and the fabulous crispy duck skin served over toast and topped with caviar. It was a sight indeed. Beautiful presentation. I also enjoyed the King Crab, this 4 pound beauty was cooked and served two ways. First, steamed crab meat legs with steamed eggs on a large plate. The second method was a stir-fry of more cut crab pieces. Well seasoned and tasted like a mixture of Old Bay seasoning and spices. The other favorite of the night was the pork meatball. While only one serving ordered, we managed to break it up with a spoon and everyone got to try it. The other stand out dish was the brisket and beef tendon. Very saucy and tender. I would have wanted to try their fish dishes but all were spicy or marked with a red pepper icon. Since it's a Beijing style menu, I would presume too spicy for my taste. The coolest feature of being in the private room, the motorized lazy Susan and of course, having privacy. Made our birthday banquet much more enjoyable so that we didn't have to sit in the loud, main dining area.
Ambiance , service and seating was excellent! My family treated me to Peking Duck, Royal lamb barbecue, Organic Cauliflower with spicy pork belly, Peking Duck soup, Braised Tofu with seafood including fish, shrimp, Calamari . Food was spectacular
Located in flushing within a mall, this might have been one of the top restaurants in NYC that I have been to, and am looking forward to coming again. There was a long wait as we put our names down for a party of four, but there is a lot to do in the mall as you wait. Our party of four was able to get seated on a Sunday afternoon after about 30 mins or so. The indoors is very well decorated and it has a nice dimly lit atmosphere. Something this place does do really well is the plating and presentation. Our first appetizer were these shrimp balls and they served 9 items on this really stunning tree holder. We ordered pork, some boiled bok choi, and Peking duck. I think in NYC this was the best Peking duck experiences I have had. They provided a large variety of toppings more than just the basic green onions. They ask if you want the bones boiled or fried afterwards. They provide a large amount of wraps for you to enjoy, and the duck was prepared beautifully. Now this place does get pricey but my friends and I loved our visit. They show you how to make each roll, they provide plastic gloves are you prep the duck rolls. Will definitely plan to come back, every thing we ate was fantastic and we had a great time. It does get a bit pricey however.

Easily one of my favorite and most memorable dinner from this year. From the spectacular presentation of every single dish to the amazing flavors and delicious quality of ingredients - this was truly and thoroughly a unique dining experience. We came here on a Saturday night with a group of 4 after the US Open and waited about an hour for our table. We shared everything and got to try quite a bit of the menu. Of course we got the Peking duck with caviar which was carved table-side and beautifully plated in a wooden box like the true treasure it is. We also got the braised pork, stir fry noodles, appetizer sampler, mashed potato, fried rice, and shrimp balls. I would get everything again except for the mashed potato - it was oddly sweet and served cold but looked cool regardless. I can't wait to come back here with another group of friends to explore the menu further and enjoy caviar with my Peking duck again! read more

One of the best pecking duck places I've tried so far. They display the pecking duck in the wooden box and show you how to wrap your pecking duck with the other ingredients nicely. They also provide gloves so you don't dirty your hands. The leftover bones from the duck can be turned into one of three choices: 1) stir fry 2) salt and pepper 3) soup. I haven't tried option 1 and 2 yet but #3 is sooo good, especially at the end of your meal. Short wait on a Sunday evening, but I saw that it could get longer with the amount of people on the waitlist after us. Ultimately opted for this place to try the Peking duck. Almost every table I saw ordered it as well, whether it was the half size or the full duck. A waiter comes by and shows you how to put it together with the hoisin sauce and the toppings. You get a plastic glove and make it yourself following their model. The rest of the duck, we used for the soup, which was also delicious. The duck comes in thin slices, easy to roll up, and the skin is very crispy. We ordered a few more things from the menu, including the taste of Beijing appetizers, pork, and vegetables. The taste of Beijing dish was interesting. I was not huge on the mustardy Chinese cabbage, as it was very heavy in a flavor similar to mustard and wasabi? Two things that I don't really like nor like to mix together. There's some strawberry jelly (dessert?) that's shaped like a squid which was sweet, but not too sweet. Okra and garlic sauce, that was neat. I forgot to try the sauce though. The last one was roast beef? There were a lot of slices and easy to share. The menu on the iPad is very visually appealing with English and Chinese. There are pictures for almost every dish (unfortunately no English for the main subtitles like appetizers, main dishes) so we found it a little hard to navigate. I found myself at Juqi with my colleagues for a work lunch. I typically do not go out to eat for lunch while working, but this was a special occasion which called for something outside the norm. I went into this totally blind as I'm not familiar with the food scene in Flushing, so I was excited to try a spot that was new to me. Juqi is located inside the Tangram Mall in Downtown Flushing; what struck me about this place from the start is that there are about 20 or so Juqis in Beijing and this was their first one here in the US. As it was a weekday afternoon, the restaurant was not too crowded and we were seated right away. The decor of the restaurant was quite nice - ornate without being tacky or overwhelming. The menu consisted of a variety of dishes which we decided to share. The menu was also electronic, so we browsed and made selections on the screen which made it super easy. As soon as we were seated, we were started with some bites - chicken feet, mung beans, and some crispy roll thing I didn't catch the name of. I did not partake in the feet, but the other two were tasty and good starters. For our actual lunch, we ordered several dishes - a lamb stir-fry, peking duck, sweet and sour fish, seafood fried rice, cauliflower, and black rice. Everything was really good - the duck was carved tableside and served so that we could build our own buns with sides of veg and sauce. They also took some of the skin and made bites topped with caviar. I'm not really a duck person, but this was some of the best I've had. Other standouts for me were the lamb stir-fry and the seafood fried rice. The black rice was almost sticky in consistency, and served flambé, but lacked flavor IMO. Service was good, the staff consistently made sure we we were taken care of and food came out relatively quickly (good since we were crunched for time). Overall, I had a good experience at Juqi - the food was tasty and I wouldn't hesitate to return for another meal. read more

Nicely designed interior, ambiance and service though the taste is middle of the fairway. We were expecting more given friend recommendations and input from the NY Times but felt that the duck was solid, but nothing noteworthy. Where they win points is their prompt service, attention to detail and aesthetic presentation and interior. Our soup was cooked perfectly and was a nice complement to an otherwise salty meal. When ordering a duck (even the 1/2) they let you pick how you like your second piece of it (you can choose either soup or salt/pepper). In hindsight we wished we went with the soup as the salt/pepper was so salty I couldn't finish. Our vegetables were also quite good and their snack items were also solid too. All in all worth a visit if there's no wait in the Tangram mall, otherwise you can probably pass. read more

Cool atmosphere, first floor in the Tangram mall, cool design on the inside evoking some traditional Mao-era design and maybe a little older brick and bamboo designs. Check out the cooler at the front with the ducks. Digital menu, and waitlist grows quickly (no reservations on weekends). Make sure your whole party is there, or they'll skip you. Wifi is required as phone service is weak. Duck was overly crispy, dry, and the toast points with duck and caviar was overkill... caviar had more taste than the duck. The sauce was off, and while the show is interesting (cutting the duck, display, and the flaming fried rice), the food taste disappointed. Very thin wraps, though, that was a very nice touch, split by the paper separators. The duck bones salted and fried was probably the best part of the meal. Fried tofu was tasteless, needed some kind of sauce (not the mayo they supplied) to make it better. Limited cucumber and scallion that they provided with the duck (didn't have to pay for it separately, fortunately). Go for the show, but don't expect great food. For $100, I've had much better, cheaper, Peking duck elsewhere in Flushing and Chinatown and other dishes. Service a bit spotty as they were busy. read more

A lot of the dishes here are very flashy, however taste wise I think it is just okay. The sesame cabbage was weirdly sweet and that threw me off. The lucky bags is probably the thing I liked the most here. Duck was a little too fat in my opinion. They light the fried rice on fire which was cool to look at, but I thought the fried rice tasted quite bad. Mapo tofu was good. read more

I see there is a half Beijing duck for $59. As a solo diner, can i order this and get the full experience with buns, crispy skin, soup etc served in multiple courses?
You will not get the entire experience as with getting the whole duck. With the half, you will only get the steam wraps along side the duck. You will then get to choose btwn the soup or the fried bones. So you get a two course meal.
Is the menu only in Chinese or is there a menu in English so that people who are not so fluent with mandarin can order?
