The Juniper is a "greatest hits" buffet at the Fairmont hotel in downtown DC. Dining room is well decorated and appointed. We loved the bacon, eggs, croissants, and (especially) the fresh granola. Unlike most buffets, the Juniper aims for quality over quantity (which we appreciate). Fewer selections means a higher grade and better taste. Stick to the basics and keep the quality as high as possible. We'd encourage the Juniper to 1) give guests some room to enjoy their meal, 2) bring ALL drinks (including juices) to the table, and 3) remember guests' answers to specific questions (drinks, timing, fresh eggs, etc.) When we stood up to get seconds (after finishing our first plate), our "server" chased us down to pay. We politely told him that we'd let him know when we wrapped. Which of course, we did. At $40 plus tip, "servers" need to bring us all our drinks, give us space, and make those empty plates quickly disappear.

The food and service here was fantastic! We came for a team meeting and we're well taken care of. All of the food was delicious and made hot ! We sat out on the courtyard which was extremely nice and definitely gave off a lounging feeling if you wanted. It was tons of open space and great for social distancing. I had the made to order omelet, which was perfectly cooked. Also something about that grilled tomato really set it off. I eyeballed the crab Benedict but didn't get to try it, please believe it's on the menu for next time. The indoor lobby is full of gorgeous greens and bold golds! The decor is definitely giving off glam vibes. Now I'm ready to come and book my stay there. Fun fact I heard a rumor that they grow their own honey and herbs. There's a beehive on the top of the building.

Very nice ambiance and friendly staff. Food was good. The crab chowder was really tasty and the fish was well balanced. I also recommend the truffle bread.

Had a brunch service here after a wedding the previous night and it was very nice. Very spacious and clean. I ordered the steak and eggs and my partner the crab benedict. My steak was cooked perfectly and she enjoyed her meal very much. Service was fast. Jugs of coffee placed on each table and waterways refilled constantly without having to ask. Definitely a solid brunch spot.

Located inside the Fairmont Hotel, Juniper Restaurant receives 5 stars overall for food, service, ambiance, and value. Dined for 2 at 6 pm. We were the first diners of the evening so we chose a window table. Serving staff followed right after and offered bottled, sparking, or still water. Malbec, Luigi Bosca, Mendoza, 2016 $15 - Not too sweet, not too dry. Brussels Sprouts With Lardons $9 - If you're a fan of brussels sprouts, Juniper has the best brussels sprouts I have ever ordered/consumed! Small sized sprouts which IMO have a perfect ratio of flavor (inside was also flavored). Lots of crispy leaves!!! Maryland Crab Cakes Espelette remoulade $17 - approximately 3 oz of two crab cakes. Espelette remoulade was the perfect "tarter sauce". Scallops Sweet corn, pancetta, green tomato $29 - the largest thickest scallops I have ever seen with cut steamed corn on the cob. Kudos: the scallops were NOT salty (every time I order scallops they're too salty). Perfectly cooked crust. Snickers Parfait $12 - layers of mousse, chocolate mousse, whipped cream, crushed oreos topped with peanut brittle. The peanut brittle was my favorite part of this dessert lol. + friendly and excellent serving staff and server (water refilled 3 x during dinner) + cushioned bench, hard chairs, + new cloth napkins for dessert

This place is excellent-- it was hard to pick the star of the dishes. The octopus was definitely the best I've ever had. Well seasoned and crispy, it's light citrus marinade works so well with the aioli.. sigh, I controlled myself from licking the plate ‍ My mom had the chilean sea bass sitting in a seafood broth.. she needed to collect herself after a few moments it was so good. And for me, the scallops with pancetta, sweet corn & green tomatoes.. EXCELLENT!

Stiff, uptight, food was so so. Felt like a library. Not impressed at all. Waiter was very good but the rest left a lot to be desired.

Another Thursday and yet another great meal at The Admiral!!!…read moreWalking home from the office, we were both hungry and, when we saw the sign, our minds were made up! We both got the All American Burger and it was awesome! Piled high with extras like fresh lettuce, flavorful tomatoes, sharp onion, slightly spicy mayo - MORE PLEASE!!!! The bun was strong enough to hold up to all the ground beef, toppings and delicious beef drippings. The french fries were crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside!!! The service - this time from Samantha Co - was great as always even in a dining room that was packed solid. She took excellent care of us! Thank you, Samantha Co!!! Will we be back to The Admiral? Oh hell yes! Do I recommend The Admiral to anyone wanting a casual place for good food and solid drinks in Dupont Circle? Oh hell yes! I am definitely a fan!

So after my friend and I finished up at a bar, we needed food and I found this spot which led us…read morehere. It was straight up LOUD when we arrived due to the music; so loud I debated on if we should stay but we decided on sticking here after seeing there were a couple spots at the bar and less of a crowd there. The bartenders are attentive and patient, answering any questions you have. After ordering a couple beers, I ordered the chicken wings and a side caesar salad while my friend got the fish and chips. The wings are crispy although dry on the inside; fortunately you got the ranch for that; probably not something I would order again given the quality and price. The caesar salad is fine; nothing special, just fine. The fish and chips looked delicious and my friend enjoyed it. I probably should've gone with that but it was a large portion and I wasn't trying to leave on a full stomach. It's breaded nicely with some parmesan fries and a garnish of slaw. I can tell it's a favorite here. Located in Dupont Circle, this seems to be a favorite of the younger crowd which would explain the blaring music; especially on a Wednesday night at 930ish. The restaurant interior gives an upscale elegant vibe that suites the DC scene. Maybe I'll come here for lunch or on the weekend if I'm in the area but I'm too old for the loud music now. Sit outside (if weather permits).

Have you ever been to a high end place and ordered a burger? You get that look like ordering steak…read moreat a great seafood place. Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.
