I was particularly excited about the bottomless beverage option, but we were surprised to learn that we could only choose one drink for the entire bottomless experience. That restriction wasn't listed on the website or the in-house menu, which felt misleading and was especially disappointing since I came specifically to try the different drink options. Service was also a little slow. We had a reservation and arrived on time, but still waited about 15 minutes to be seated despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We both ordered steak and eggs medium rare. Mine came out more done than requested, while my companion's steak was fattier and somewhat chewy. Chef Geoff's was a needed snack break during this year's Embassy Open House. Honestly we were walking passed and the window gave us view of someone else gauc so we made a U-turn to grab a snack. The location is bright and airy. The hostess, staff were pleasant. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and guac w/ plantains chips to hold us over. Of course, the tini-tinis on Happy Hour were a must. The service was great and food was good, the lemon drop martini didn't disappoint. My kids and I love it here. My only issue is they don't offer the pizza anymore. My daughter was very upset. We usually order to go, but this last time we decided to dine in. Food was great as usual. We happen to be there during restaurant week and so it was a really great deal. I got appetizer entrée and dessert for a really great price. The gumbo on the appetizer menu is really good. We made reservations and were seated as soon as we got there. We got the soco pizza and rigatoni alla vodka pasta. This was the perfect meal after walking around the city. The pizza had great toppings and the crust was amazing. My one issue was that when we were offered water, we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We chose still water assuming that we would get tap water. Instead the waiter brought out 2 bottles of water that cost $15 total. We looked at other tables and saw there was free tap water available. We always enjoy coming back to Chef Geoff's West End whenever we're in Washington, DC. We visited over the 4th of July weekend, and even with the holiday crowds, the experience was just as great as always. We've only been here for brunch, and it has been consistently excellent. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. One thing that really stands out is their customer service. On our last visit, we arrived just five minutes before they switched from the brunch menu to lunch, and they still let us order brunch without making us feel rushed. That kind of flexibility and kindness really makes a difference. If you're a fan of Bloody Marys, don't skip them here! They make one of the best I've had and it's the perfect complement to brunch. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, and unlike a few other restaurants we visited during the summer, they actually keep the air conditioning on, which made our meal much more enjoyable on a hot day. One thing to note is that the restrooms are located downstairs in the hotel next door. They were clean and easy to find once we asked. Overall, Chef Geoff's West End never disappoints. Great food, excellent service, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back every time we're in DC. I must of came in on an off day, which was a Tuesday of all days. I sat at the bar & the bartender Jose U dropped a drink off in front of me within 3 minutes of arriving & sitting bar top. He looked at it and realized the guy 3-4 seats down ordered it and gave it to him. It looked good so I ordered one. I ordered the Salmon and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. He said it was on the restaurant week menu, I said OK, even though I didn't see it on there. 55 minutes passed by without the bartender checking on my food / on me in general. I asked if he could check the kitchen on my food and he had a look on his face like he had messed up. "What'd you order again? Did the other bartender take your order?" Knew by his response I was in a shituation. He did bring me the lobster Mac & cheese about 15 minutes later. It was really good. The salmon never came out unfortunately. The manager (dressed in the grey blazer) ended up supposedly comping the meal. Ended up wasting an hour 45 minutes here. The excuse was something like my order went to another customer and there was a mixup with the seat #'s. What actually happened is I had 2 bartenders take my order at the same time - both assumed the other input it in the computer, however neither did. You'd think Tuesday wouldn't be as busy as a Friday / Saturday experience here, but I'd hate to be here on a really busy shift. Bad experience all around, though I do like the ambience here. Wish l would have had a chance to properly try out what I ordered. If you have a lot of patience, wouldn't mind recommending this place. I have been thinking about this place since I tried it during DC restaurant week last summer, so that should tell you about the quality of the food. The interior is nice and spacious. There is plenty of seating available at the bar, on the first floor, and patio. We were served by our waiter Arthur from the moment we sat down. He made a big impression on us through his extensive knowledge of the menu, thoughtful suggestions, and proactiveness with fixing mistakes with our orders; I just had to ask for his name. He alone made the dining experience spectacular. The food portions were considerably sizable. I brought leftovers home after ordering an appetizer, entrée, and dessert from the Restaurant Week menu. The wings were crisped to perfection, the salmon was juicy and seasoned, and the sorbet was soft and tasty. The food will have me return again and again for more. With the chaos of restaurant week, I was surprised to see that the staff was still able to deliver our food to the tables in a swift major. They seated us right when we walked in even though we didn't have a reservation due to the debacle at the other restaurant nearby. You get your money's worth for the draft beer i ordered. I was surprised because the price tag of $13, you usually get short changed with half the amount for the same price :) Ordered our main entrees of Mediterranean Seabass and Pork ribs with rice. Received within minutes. All was so good!! Tasted delicious!! Cooked to perfection. Decided to try out breakfast as well the next morning. Again this place did not dissapoint. All was very good. Came back that same evening to eat dinner. Ordered Gumbo soup, Beef raised Ribs and Pasta. Omg! Delicous with my Super mug of Michelob ultra. Haha. Big Kudos for Vee serving us that night. It was very flavorful and we liked the thinly sliced jalapeño and fresh cilantro. The cauliflower was not super breaded. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which came with about 8 small raviolis and a ton of mushrooms. The fresh cheese and roasted tomatoes mixed with the mushrooms and sauce went so well together. My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos, which were pretty good. The fish was well seasoned and the avocado and sauces added some nice creaminess. Definitely think my favorite was the mushroom ravioli.
