Service was impeccable, the food was simply amazing, and the atmosphere was inviting. The perfect setting for us to enjoy such a lovely dinner! I had made our reservation via OpenTable in advance and chose Chef Geoff's thanks to the Yelp reviews I had read. This place appears to get busy so definitely recommend reservations during peak times. We started with the guacamole ($17) and loved this app. I ordered the mushroom ravioli ($25) for my dish and my guest, the blackened salmon ($30). Both were amazing. The chef sent out an amuse-bouche (risotto with Cajun shrimp) which was such a nice touch, and so yummy. And just when I thought I couldn't eat anymore we decided to share the ricotta donuts ($11). Great place to go for dinner with a family or group - it has extensive menu so there is something for everyone. Lots of GF options. Our waiter Mynor was great and very attentive and alerted us to any items that may have cross contamination for celiac/gluten allergy. Avoid. Staff commits fraud. Got a report that I had left an 80% tip - so they added almost $100 behind my back. Food and service is pretty mediocre, I can tip generously at times but absolutely not in this case. Restaurant responded once or twice and then went radio silent without resolving. They are scammers. Updating per the comment from management on this review: The staff messed up the receipt (not itemized), I paid the amount that I was presented with a tip, and then someone on the back-end went back to charge me more without contacting me (because of their mistake). I had multiple back and forth emails with the restaurant, including an implication that I had no idea what I was talking about or must be lying (even though someone on their staff had gone back to charge me more), and was issued a refund only because I thankfully had saved the receipt. I would never have gotten it if I hadn't been able to send the screenshot. I will note that I was fully refunded and I appreciate that, but the hassle and their attempt at covering this up wasn't great. I'm pretty disappointed with this establishment. read more

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant across from our hotel. The service was super friendly and accommodating. My son fell out of a high top seat and they quickly moved us which was so nice after an embarrassing situation. I really enjoyed the blackberry margarita which was tart and delicious. I must of came in on an off day, which was a Tuesday of all days. I sat at the bar & the bartender Jose U dropped a drink off in front of me within 3 minutes of arriving & sitting bar top. He looked at it and realized the guy 3-4 seats down ordered it and gave it to him. It looked good so I ordered one. I ordered the Salmon and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. He said it was on the restaurant week menu, I said OK, even though I didn't see it on there. 55 minutes passed by without the bartender checking on my food / on me in general. I asked if he could check the kitchen on my food and he had a look on his face like he had messed up. "What'd you order again? Did the other bartender take your order?" Knew by his response I was in a shituation. He did bring me the lobster Mac & cheese about 15 minutes later. It was really good. The salmon never came out unfortunately. The manager (dressed in the grey blazer) ended up supposedly comping the meal. Ended up wasting an hour 45 minutes here. The excuse was something like my order went to another customer and there was a mixup with the seat #'s. What actually happened is I had 2 bartenders take my order at the same time - both assumed the other input it in the computer, however neither did. You'd think Tuesday wouldn't be as busy as a Friday / Saturday experience here, but I'd hate to be here on a really busy shift. Bad experience all around, though I do like the ambience here. Wish l would have had a chance to properly try out what I ordered. If you have a lot of patience, wouldn't mind recommending this place. If you want to have your food out in a timely manner though (and actually eat it), hope you're more patient than I was. Won't be back. read more

I have been thinking about this place since I tried it during DC restaurant week last summer, so that should tell you about the quality of the food. The interior is nice and spacious. There is plenty of seating available at the bar, on the first floor, and patio. We were served by our waiter Arthur from the moment we sat down. He made a big impression on us through his extensive knowledge of the menu, thoughtful suggestions, and proactiveness with fixing mistakes with our orders; I just had to ask for his name. He alone made the dining experience spectacular. The food portions were considerably sizable. I brought leftovers home after ordering an appetizer, entrée, and dessert from the Restaurant Week menu. The wings were crisped to perfection, the salmon was juicy and seasoned, and the sorbet was soft and tasty. The food will have me return again and again for more. With the chaos of restaurant week, I was surprised to see that the staff was still able to deliver our food to the tables in a swift major. From the start, the hostess and waiter were incredibly welcoming and the vibes were great. They seated us right when we walked in even though we didn't have a reservation due to the debacle at the other restaurant nearby. They had a great sense of humor, so the service was made the whole experience fun and was the best part of the dinner. Honestly, this was some of the best service I've ever had. They were also very accommodating of my allergies and very kind about it too. The food was good, and the patio was nice and warm. We went here on a Saturday evening. Finding a parking spot was a nightmare. We had reservation and got seated right away. The ambiance was casual. The interior was modern. We enjoyed the sweet and spicy cauliflower and fall burrata for starters. The fall burrata has arugula and fig jam. The Cajun chicken bucatini was hearty. It had bacon, spinach, tomato cream and parmesan. The triple chocolate decadence was delicious. Great consistency with different textures from the salted caramel gelato, chocolate ganache and mousse. It was busy and it was evident with the service. We felt the pressure and the rush of our server who did not have much time to ask about our food. We needed a bit before going to an evening reception. This place is close to our hotel, so we headed there on a cold afternoon and took advantage of their Happy Hour. Really good. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. Down at the lobby is this restaurant. I was advised by the front desk to try this place out. I took their advise and it sure did not dissapoint! First night we ate dinner. Our waiter Arthur greeted us and asked if we would like some beverages. Ordered a fancy cocktail for my wife and a super mug Michelob ultra. This mug was huge! You get your money's worth for the draft beer i ordered. I was surprised because the price tag of $13, you usually get short changed with half the amount for the same price :) Ordered our main entrees of Mediterranean Seabass and Pork ribs with rice. Received within minutes. All was so good!! Tasted delicious!! Cooked to perfection. Decided to try out breakfast as well the next morning. Again this place did not dissapoint. All was very good. Came back that same evening to eat dinner. Ordered Gumbo soup, Beef raised Ribs and Pasta. Omg! Delicous with my Super mug of Michelob ultra. Haha. Big Kudos for Vee serving us that night. This is an easy spot to have a drink/dinner after work. We walked in at 7 and were seated right away on a Tuesday. The girl who got our water for us was probably the friendliest person I've ever met. Didn't get her name but she was short, blonde and had a smile the whole time. Our waiter was much less friendly. He seemed like he was having a bad day and didn't even want to make eye contact with us. We ordered Calamari and got Cauliflower instead. Not a huge problem and I know it happens but he didn't come over and apologize or talk to us about it after we told the girl. He just insisted she come take the wrong order off our table. We thought that was silly since they're going to throw it away. The vibe in the restaurant wasn't anything special - very casual/chill. Seemed like a lot of different kinds of groups. I did like that the windows were open. But it was so strange they were playing bird sounds pretty loud on the speakers. We did book a reservation and the restaurant was pretty crowded for Sunday dinner. We got the sweet and spicy cauliflower to start. It was very flavorful and we liked the thinly sliced jalapeño and fresh cilantro. The cauliflower was not super breaded. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which came with about 8 small raviolis and a ton of mushrooms. The fresh cheese and roasted tomatoes mixed with the mushrooms and sauce went so well together. My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos, which were pretty good. The fish was well seasoned and the avocado and sauces added some nice creaminess. Definitely think my favorite was the mushroom ravioli. We hadn't been to a Cheff Geoff's in several years, since we went to the Rockville location for lunch. We recalled that as good, so we wanted to try this location's breakfast. Checking in was great, our server was who greeted us at the host stand when we walked in and he sat us along the window overlooking 22nd Street. Their breakfast menu is nice and has several appetizing options. The items we chose were all made perfectly with fresh ingredients. Their ricotta donuts (which are balls) were so soft and moist and very flavorful! The Farmhouse Omelet was made perfectly with fresh ingredients! The egg was cooked just right, there should never been any brown (overcooked) egg on an omelet and this one was just right. Their crispy breakfast potatoes were so good too! The venue is nice. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and came with both a flavorful marinara sauce and a smoky chipotle aioli--both were fantastic. The hummus was fresh, generously portioned, and ideal for sharing. The entrée menu is extensive, so it took me a while to decide. I ended up ordering the Blackened Salmon. While I wanted to love it, it fell a little short. The salmon was cooked well and had decent seasoning, but the dish overall didn't stand out. The mashed potatoes had a bland, boxed texture and taste, and the broccoli--while plentiful--was served in oversized chunks that were a bit difficult to manage. This was a tale of two meals. On one side of the table was my very best friend who ordered a pasta dish that was a special menu item. He described it as very tasty with a great deal of mushrooms, perfectly cooked noodles, and a hearty portion size. He loved every bite. Was there chicken? I could not say because all I tasted was oil and burnt breading. The cocktail I ordered was more fit for hummingbirds than people. The restaurant was very busy when we were there. The table density was such that I couldn't push my chair back without touching another diner's chair and there wasn't a single empty seat. The waitstaff was spread thin and moved nonstop. Adding to the crowded hectic ambiance was the frequent sirens from the nearby fire-station. It left me with the impression that DC was perpetually on fire with how many times those sirens blared during our meal. We didn't have a lot of time before our travels, so we picked a place very close to our hotel. This place has a large outdoor and indoor dining area, and the host and waitstaff are very nice (maybe even a bit excessive). However, for brunch, good coffee is a must and this is clearly not up to par. It's from a machine (according to our waitstaff), and my cappuccino just didn't taste very good. My friend with the americano concurred. I got the lobster roll. It was very excessively dressed with the coleslaw on top, but the lobster was good. There was so much sauce it was a knife and fork affair -- and the bun was not toasted (or got soggy). I wish they had left the lobster alone a bit more. It also came with a side of your choice, but the portion of the side salad is quite small. Overall I suppose it's not too bad, and it's spacious, but it's not for those looking for top notch brunch. It's great if you want a restaurant to sit and chat at, since the staff is very nice. read more
