Stopped at the Juniper Bar for drinks on our way to a concert in Times Square. Right off 7th Ave and only a block from Penn Station, this was the perfect pit stop! I'm in the city a lot and always looking for something in this area that is not just pub food. We sat at the bar and had a few cocktails and we're happy to hear it was still happy hour (HH is 4-7pm everyday!) Both of us tried the Ivy Martini and shared the calamari along with the Chicken Parm sliders. I normally wouldn't order chicken when I go out but the sliders were delish! I also tried the Clean Slate which was a gin based cocktail. It was good but not what I was looking for - it was more like a summer drink.

My friend and I came here for drinks and apps before the Lady Gaga concert last night. It is a great spot to go before seeing a show/event at MSG! I would definitely recommend getting a reservation since there were a lot of people there to pre-game before the concert. We sat at a high top and got seated right away! Happy hour was going on so we decided to get the Ivy Martini. It is sort of like a cosmo with pineapple juice. We both liked it! For food, we split the mediterranean flatbread and buffalo chicken dumplings. The buffalo chicken dumplings were delish, but small for the price and could have been warmer. The flatbread was actually on pretty thick bread which was strange. Again this was just ok. The service was great and they were good about getting us served quickly since we said we were going to the concert. Next time, I would probably just do drinks here!

They have a happy hour from 4-7PM and are just a short walk from Penn Station/ MSG ($10 cocktails & $9 wines). Tables are hard to come by so would recommend a reservation! Luckily my friend and I were able to find a seat at the bar. Warm and cozy atmosphere with attentive staff. We shared truffle fries (very generous portion), tomato mozzarella salad and the juniper grilled cheese. Everything was delicious!

We made reservations here for NYE and were left feeling ehh about this place. The cocktails were great! And they were still honoring Happy Hour pricing despite it being a holiday. We ordered the Cheesesteak Spring rolls and I found the meat inside them to be a bit chewy. The burgers we both ordered medium but they came out pretty rare. The ambiance is nice and the service was good. I would try it again and see if it's any better on a non holiday.

These truffle fries were delicious. I would come back just for those. I had carne asada tacos and a water. The bathroom is clean and nice. Only complaint, the music is too loud to be able to talk with your tablemates.

Came by after work with some coworkers and got seated downstairs, food was good in flavor, and quick service with friendly staff. Truffle fries and artichoke dip were great for sharing. Wings were a bit burnt and tried this potstickers dumpling too, both were skippable for new, fish taco was meh for me too but others liked it. Good option in the area if you're looking for a place to go! Chill vibes.

Cute place ! Our server was very attentive and very on top of my husband's allergies. Went above and beyond to be sure the food would be ok for him. The burgers were great. I had the watermelon spritz and switched over to the smoked bourbon. Very good. Nice place and near MSG.

Loved this place - so much that I had lunch & then late night cocktails here! Wonderful interior & nice bartenders. We enjoyed bourbons, steak satay - so yummy & the egg rolls - decadent & delish! They have a great HH from 4-7 which I would try to do next time.

I came here for the first time on Halloween before the Duran Duran MSG show. A Duran Duran Facebook group my friend is in had a party in the downstairs area just for people going to the show. I asked where it was to the hostess when we got there and they kindly showed us the way downstairs. The space downstairs is really adorable. It's a decent size with a few tables, but mostly seating at the bar. I have to add that the bar stools they had were the most comfortable ones I ever sat my bum in! Not too high for a 5'5" shortie like myself so I didn't have to climb onto it. The seat was a soft texture and had a cozy indentation for your butt. I could have sat in it for hours. Juniper Bar did an amazing job with the special cocktail menu named after Duran songs. The prices were pretty average for a NYC bar, bordering on inexpensive for Manhattan. I wish I knew the name of the bartender at our side of the bar. A male with long hair pulled into a ponytail. It was insanely busy most of the time we were down there and he worked like a champ! Kudos to him. Rockstar vibes. Thank you, Juniper Bar for giving us Duranies a special treat before the show. I will be back to get a regular experience!

Had a great time at Juniper! Despite the packed house, the bartenders were always keeping an eye on empty glasses The mushroom flatbread was perfectly crispy with earthy mushrooms and just the right amount of truffle oil. The happy hour cocktail menu has great prices. The vibe hits that sweet spot between upscale and relaxed. Ideal spot for after-work drinks or a fun night out.

I really enjoyed Juniper Bar! Came here after a brunch to continue chatting with friends and grab more drinks. The bartenders were really nice, the food was good, and the toasted marshmallow espresso martini was heavenly.

I popping in here for happy hour and initially it was quiet, but by 6pm it got real busy. The crowd was vibrant with a mixture. There's ample dining area. Upon entry, the first dining area is opened, with a pretty decent bar to the side. Towards the back is a more private dining space with cushioned seating. The overall ambiance was nice and I enjoyed the music. The Big Blue burger was yummy and nicely made- I opted for truffle fries. Drinks were yummy, I tried all 3 happy hour picks. Service was amazing, food/ drinks weee timely. My bartender Noah was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you Noah! I'll definitely be stopping in again for happy hour. I'd recommend going.

A friend was in town for work and wanted to meet for a drink before she hopped the Amtrak back to Baltimore, so I needed to find a clean, well-lighted place because a lot of the bars near Penn Station skew to the sketchier side of things. Yelp helped me pinpoint Juniper and it was a rousing success. The space is very open and well appointed. It felt comfortable and inviting. Service was very good as well. I was pleased with my Old Fashioned...it was really great and there was a chocolate truffle on the toothpick with the cherry that was a delightful treat! I ordered some steak tacos, which had nice flavor but the meat was a bit tough and hard to chew. If I'd used a fork and knife, I would have enjoyed them more. I also got some fries which came with a variety of dipping sauces...all very tasty. We got their early (around 4) and they wanted the table back by 5:30 since we didn't have a reservation. It definitely started to get busy by the time we left a little after 5 so this seems to be a popular place. I recommend it.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious.
