Overall rating: 4.7 HAPPY HOUR EVERY DAY FROM 4-7pm?! Bet. Bet. Bet. Bet. This also includes weekends!!! I don't find myself often in midtown ish east, but if I'm in the area between the times, I'm going. I just get the bohemian rhapsody and it's soo good! I love elderflower tho. The place looks nice too! But I haven't had any food. Highly recommend if you're looking for after work drinks, solo drinks, friend hang etc. read more

Juniper shocked me !! We came to try a chicken spot but changed our mind once we stepped out of Penn station. We got on yelp and saw Juniper was close. OMG let's start by how attentive they are. We walked in and the table we were sat at had stools. Since we wanted back support we mentioned we didn't want to sit there and they change us to seats that had just that. So quick and easy no fuss. Then we met our waiter Adam which kindly gave us time to search the menu. During all my interacting I end up speaking about the restaurant and how pleasant everyone has been so far. Even when we went to the bathroom and passed by the downstairs bar we interacted with the bartender Gerald instantly. His vibe made me promise to get a shot before we left. Back at our seats I mention that interaction to Adam and a guy in a white she over hears me. come to find out his name is Braily and he's the manager. He was sooo glad we were enjoying the restaurant. Our food came out and I must say It was all very tasty. I order trout with potatoes on a green sauce. Bomb flavoring. The habanero wings were just right. I prefer more crispy wings these were almost there. My friend order the Bug blue burger which she wasn't able to eat and we brought it home because she got full off the huge onion but TASTY onion rings on top of the burger. Tempura breading on the onion rings made them soft and flaky. I must say I was completely shocked at how amazing this restaurant was and I didn't even plan to stop by. Spontaneity at its finest. read more

Amazing atmosphere for the large group event held at Juniper Bar.They had everything from microphones for announcements to clearly hear our leaders speak, to beautifully and delicious hand held food so we could talk, mingle, and spend time with everyone who attended. Highly recommend! read more

This place can best be described as being like a nicer looking pub. It was not too crowded on a Sunday night and had a younger crowd. I came with a small bunch of friends and we definitely liked the laid back vibe here. It is relatively spacious and can easily accommodate groups of people. The food was very good as well. Their burgers are very juicy and very big. The hand cut fries were delicious too. I recommend coming during their happy hour. The happy hour menu did not include any food, but had several cocktails in the $10-$12 range. Aside from that, they have a very good menu of shots, beers, wine, and cocktails. read more

For the location and pricing - it's a great find. Will it knock your socks off? Probably not but it's still well worth a trip. Came here before Harry Styles at MSG. Short walk. Some other people had the same idea Happy hour was 4-7. No food on happy hour special. I had the St. Germaine cocktail. It was $10 Which is a great price considering the location and everything. Very strong but delicious. I had the sliders with fries $15. Burgers were good. Reasonable portion. Not massive. Fries were great. I'd definitely be back. read more

This was my first time here, but it most certainly won't be the last time. I was really impressed with the food, excellent ambiance and superb service from our server Lucian! All I can say is... Excellent! Excellent customer service all around beginning from the hostesses, to the bartenders while we waited, then Lucian "bringing it home" catering to all of our needs. Juniper Bar definitely exceeded my New York expectations! read more

We came here as a larger group for happy hour and it's great to be able to make a reservation and receive the happy hour prices. We had a great corner spot and had lots of space to store bags (gotta love a commuter gaggle of 10+ women). We had Aiden as our server and he was super prompt and was very attentive. While we waited for the second half of our group to arrive, Aiden took our drink orders. There were a few Happy Hour specials for drinks (none for food) and we opted for a mix of those offerings. The wine was rumored to be... a bit flat, but our cocktails (a mix of sangria, margaritas, etc) were lovely. After a drink, we did pick up both the flatbread options, the kale and artichoke dip, and the eggrolls. I wasn't able to catch an eggroll but I heard they were tasty. I did try the mushroom and carmelized onion flatbread and it was divine. The dip was also tasty but not chunky - i was kind of hoping for big chunks of artichokes. Just before a mad rush to the train, I was able to hit the restrooms - while it was a single stall for the entire restaurant - It was clean and there wasn't a long line. Definitely worth popping over for a drink, snack, or pre-MSG event fun. read more

There are hooks under the table for your belongings. SERVICE: 2/5 The waiter did not tell me all throughout the night, and I noticed as I left. I was holding my purse and my jacket in one hand, and eating in the other. Extremely uncomfortable!! My friend was sitting on top of her jacket throughout the night. We were sitting on stools, so there are no backs to our chairs. On top of that, they sat us right next to the bathroom. Yes, there's a table right next to the bathroom, and we asked if we could be moved but we weren't. We even saw empty seats but we weren't moved. FOOD: 4/5 We ordered: - pineapple coconut mojito (I loved It!) - pomegranate white cosmo - crab cake burgers - mini burgers Both burgers come with a side of fries. Not too much, but just enough. The burgers were small, but just enough for us. Small bites. BATHROOM: 4/5 Clean and nice. Stall is big and spacious. Even at night, the bathroom was very clean. read more

Came here for happy hour before the DMB concert. We came in at 4:30ish and the super rude lady at the front told us we had to leave by 5:30, because all the high tops were reserved. The service was awful and the food was meh. The only good thing was the calamari and the $10 happy hour martini. If you like bad service and sassy waitresses this is the place for you. read more

I've been recommending them since they first opened. Staff is super friendly and will help you with anything. You'll see numerous dishes available. The cost at Juniper Bar is reasonable and vegetable portions generous. I want them to achieve their goals. read more

Keeping it real, we sat down at 6:20PM, we ordered shortly after, food came out at 8PM when all other tables had been served and left for the night. After years in food service this blew my mind. Pictured is the place closing while we still waited for our food. read more

Great service! The cheese steak bite appetizer - YUM! The chicken avacado sandwich good as well. BBQ burger good too!

I used to be a regular here because their happy hour is great and their food was surprisingly fantastic (especially the fries). But, a group of us went last night for the first time in a few months and it was not good. It was more expensive and the food was mediocre at best- if they changed their chef...they should change it back. read more

Cost effective happy hour near LIRR Penn Station? Never thought I'd find a place. And takes reservations too. Needed a place to meet my friends scattered throughout midtown, coming in from Long Island and other parts of Manhattan. Very cost friendly happy hour drinks deal, oysters, and a good selection of appetizers. I enjoyed my red sangria and Hamachi Tartare. Vietnamese wings was overloaded with sauce and good bbq brisk taste. The espresso martini was a bit weak on the caffeine side but everything came out great. Loved the narrow hallway structure of this place and we did get the nice booth throughout the restaurant. Lively vibes and was popular amongst many passing NYC. Will use this as a hideout spot for happy hour next time I'm in the Herald Square neighborhood when venturing for a movie or shopping trip to Macys. read more

I had a great time attending an event here. The basement was a wonderful space for a private event. The bartenders were very attentive and could handle multiple orders at once. The appetizers tasted great and were plentiful. The overall service was very attentive. I would definitely recommend Juniper as both a bar/restaurant and event space. read more

Great happy hour and fun vibes! We ordered the Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a pit stop before grabbing food at the next spot. They also have seating if you want to grab food but we stayed at the bar. Would recommend for a happy hour in the city! read more

Wanted a bite to eat near Penn Station, so after a google search for a place I hadn't been to, and browsing menus, this was my winner. The menu looked just too good. I made a reservation for a Saturday night just in case, but I was there early like 5:30 so it was pretty empty and I sat at the bar. I had their spiced margarita which I get it's seasonal BUT IT WAS SO GOOD. It made me want to try some of their other cocktails or at least go back again in the future for their cocktail menu. For food, I had their steak wrap. I think I posted a photo of it, and it looks deceptive. Looks like there isn't a lot of steak but there was and it was plenty filling. For sure I'd return. read more

Juniper Bar - Churrasco Skirt Steak Wrap - Cocktail Bars Near Me - New York, New York

While strolling through the captivating streets of New York City, I discovered Juniper Bar. Eager to enjoy a drink while waiting for my mother, I was drawn to the inviting ambiance - dim lights and a subtle mix of R&B hip hop. Now, onto the highlight: I opted for an Espolon Tequila soda water with a splash of pineapple. Refreshing and delicious, it was expertly served by the delightful Bibi. Shoutout to her - definitely visit if you're in New York! Her service is definitely A1 I promise you won't regret sorry to those who were looking for a food review. I do hope this review helps the next person who have desires of visiting. read more

Came here for a meet up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and we had the best time. Service was great, our server was attentive and kind. Food was delicious, I had the mini sliders and a side of the sweet potato fries with a Raspberry beret to drink. Place can get a little noisy when it's busy and the music is loud but we didn't have a problem talking over it. All in all a good time. read more

Food is not that good and service is very slow. However, the manager is very nice and accommodating.

Solid spot for cocktails! Stopped in on a Thursday around 8pm and it was fairly empty. They do have happy hour specials from 4-7pm. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were pleasant and attentive. I ordered the cucumber cooler $14 which was refreshing and delicious. The drink was on the smaller side. My friend had the pineapple mojito which she liked; said it wasn't too sweet. Music was a good level that we didn't have to shout while we caught up with each other. They also have a private dining room/party room with a bar downstairs for private events. Overall, great spot for cocktails near Penn Station. Check it out! read more

We were looking for a restaurant to stop at before the Islanders game yesterday, so we came here for food and drinks. Since it was happy hour, we all started off with some Ivy Martinis. Although it was delicious, it didn't taste like there was much alcohol in it. We also split the cheese steak egg rolls, mediterranean flatbread (with prosciutto added on), steak tacos, and mini cheeseburger sliders. Everything was so good, but I wasn't too crazy about the tacos because the steak was a little too chewy for my liking. The egg rolls and flatbread were by far my favorite. I'd go back just to get them again. Aside from the food, the service was great and our waiter was super friendly. Really nice place for after work drinks and apps! read more

In midtown you're a little limited when it comes to a bar that can host a large group of people, not be packed with tourists and be close enough to transportation so everyone can find it. This is your spot. We resented the room downstairs which was great. The food was a level up of bar food but really nice and the drinks were on point with something for everyone. Our bartender was great very attentive and able to handle this bunch. We had a great time and the price was reasonable. read more

Not my first time here, but very poor experience this past week, and won't be back. My "medium" steak was way overdone and tough, but also cold enough when it came out that the butter on it didn't melt. If I have ever had a meal that should be sent back - that was it. Not looking to spend over $50/pp for lunch and get that LOL. Very disappointing, since the location is very convenient. Place was empty except for a few tourists at the bar. Service could have been better, especially since the place was empty. They did not bother to ask why most of the steak was on my plate when they cleared it. Ah well. read more

I came here for happy hour and it was a great experience. I was meeting up with a friend before they had to catch a train at Penn station, so the location was wonderful. It was only a 5 min walk away, so we didn't have to worry about being late. Their cocktails are only $10 at happy hour, which lasts from 4 pm to 7 pm. I tried the Ivy martini and it was delicious. It looked and tasted like pink lemonade in a martini glass! Definitely felt the alcohol, but didn't taste it too strongly which was great. I also tried the truffle fries, which were $11. I tasted the truffle for maybe 1 or 2 fries, but it was pretty faint overall. I definitely forgot they were supposed to be truffle fries after a bit. It came with ketchup and a garlic mayo on the side. There was plenty of sauce, which is always nice. Overall, it's a nice place to meet for happy hour. The food veers on the pricier side, but it makes sense for the location and how upscale the restaurant was. read more

I came here for just an hour or so on a week night. The bar had a fun, upscale vibe and a good selection of music. The bartender was friendly and started making my drink when he overheard me mention it, even before I placed an order. I liked the Moonlight cocktail. It was a gorgeous lavender color and was subtly fruity. The Spiced Harvest Margarita was also delicious. It was spicy and tart. If we weren't short on time, I definitely would have ordered a second one. Most cocktails were around $16. Very convenient location near Herald Square and Penn Station. read more

Poor happy hour!! Came in with the family, all over 21, looking for some nice cocktail and some good food. We couldn't even get to ordering food because the cheapest of cheap, $10, happy hour cocktails were HORRIBLE! I mean I know you shouldn't expect much for $10 in NYC but damn I'm not an idiot. If you can't make a palatable drink, I'm not ordering food. The 5 of us walked out disappointed! Could have been a big check but I wasted $50. Don't do the same. read more
