Soba salad with tofu poke

EDIT: I ended up getting really awful 24 hour long food poisoning from eating here, and I called the restaurant to let them know. However, I wasn't offered a refund and only received a verbal apology. The food itself, service, and the inside seating are fantastic, and I was really excited to try this place as it's been on my list for a while and looks delicious. However, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the soba noodle salad with tofu poke really upset my stomach just an hour after eating, and it has still been in pain a few hours later. I am not sure what it would be that would affect me this much, as I rarely ever get food poisoning/my stomach is not that sensitive, but next time I might try something made to order instead of being premade to avoid this happening again.

Macaroni that tastes like Thai coconut milk, I'm not supposed to eat pasta and couldn't resist this!

This is one of my favorite healthy vegan restaurants - everything you order is delicious, fresh, and made with ingredients that leaves you feeling like you made the right choice about eating habits! We often order the succulent salad which has purple sweet potatoes, broccoli, feta, on a bed of greens with delicious dressing - their coffee/lattes are also worth checking out! Also, they make an incredible chocolate cake. It was by far the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my entire life.

Not the first time but the SECOND time going and the food was so delicious. It did take roughly 10min to make (but I'm not complaining)! The portion size was perfect for my friend and I. Definitely worth going especially if you're a tourist!

OWoW! My first visit to Waialae location and it's amazing! Quaint eat in, super friendly knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Yes it's vegan but it's just plain delicious food! Tender Hirata bun followed by a succulent crunchy Korean Chick'N with wonderful vegetables and whatever galactic sauce they top it with. That was after eating the Succulent Salad of perfectly delicious greens, nuts and dried fruit with breakthrough Okinawan sweet potato goodness. Will def be a regular here! Hello new best friend

Green juice and Hirata bun!

The Breakfast Frittata Sammie

While on a run it started to rain so I stopped. While waiting for the rain to let up I realized how hungry I was. Since I was right there, I decided to go get some breakfast at Juicy Brew. I asked the girl at the counter for suggestions and she said the breakfast frittata sammie would be great! So I ordered one! And since I had to walk/run the rest of the way home now with a sandwich in tow, I asked if it could be wrapped in a way it wouldn't get too messed up. And it was wrapped beautifully! It was a run more than walking since it started raining again. The Sammie was in perfect condition when I finally got home! I cut it in half since it was such a large sandwich! The frittata/cheez combo with the flavors of caramelized onions and roasted veggies were just perfect! And the brioche bun was oh so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy it made it home safely! Thank you Juicy Brew!

VEGAN BAHN MI!!!!!!!! Left me speechless so delicious. Breakfast Frittata Sammie was so beyond yummy too, 10/10. My sister got the Tofu Salad something (sorry forgot). Zubair the actual GOAT helped us.

HOLY MOLY DELICIOUS RANDOM FIND. wow. Frittata 1111/10 best food I've gotten in Oahu. Coffee also 10/10. SO FLAVORFUL and filling for price I would've never guessed it's vegan. coming back ASAP

Mushroom melt check their menu for ingredients it was super tasty
recko k.

Always loved this vegan spot the food is amazing .Great fast relaxed service , chill ambiance . One of my favorites is the mochi pancakes but they don't always have it on the menu so today I tried something new and loved it . The mushroom melt . Perfect size , nice texture and not too much sauce dripping , so I could eat it on the way to work in my car . Highly recommend this stop on the main strip in kaimuki Oahu HI

Wow... this place is so delicious! I was thrilled to see a vegan pupusa on the menu, but the star of the show was the Korean Chick'n hirata buns

Three of us got the Iron Man Sandwich (only one of three got "spicy" and it was apparently not super spicy, so spice wimps like me could probably handle it), and my mother got the cheeseburger. The three of us with the Iron Man liked ours, but my Mom wasn't impressed with her burger. My husband also got a banana and peanut butter smoothie (the "nutty banana"), and my parents got the Nutella chocolate milks, and everyone was pretty happy with their drinks! The location itself is pretty cute and small, and appears to be operated solo by the lady we assumed to be the owner and eponymous "Blondie." She was really friendly and helpful while we were trying to decide what we all wanted (we can be a slightly indecisive bunch). I thought the wall of little index cards illustrated by various patrons showing where they were from was a really nice touch! We chose to sit indoors, since outdoor tables that would take four were occupied, but it might be noisy out there with the proximity to the main road. Inside the music can be a little loud, too, but the lady behind the counter turned it down some for us, which was kind of her to offer. Overall a decent little vegan sandwich shop with a great smoothie and drink selection! I think if my husband and I are about town on our own on our next visit to the islands, we might stop by again, but my parents will probably opt for other things given that my mother never gets beyond a first impression. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for a nice vegan meal and beverages!

Parking is the greatest challenge though there are a few street metered parking fortunately they are right beside a municipal lot that's just the fraction of the cost though on Sunday all street parking are free. Though there are some cute outdoor spot to enjoy some fresh air the indoor vibe ain't so bad either with artificial turf along with huge windows that bring in the light with bench seating does give that picnic feel while you enjoy and cool of in the air conditioning. What did I enjoy...well thanks to Nadine and some gift certificate she had it was a generous morning of fresh pineapple juice with breakfast sandwich on English muffin all vegan and plant based was just so light and refreshing which is a great way to start my day. The service is always so friendly at this family owned and run biz as they still keep to their amazing menu and vibe that they have here is just so nice and relaxing place. Thank you!

The fish was perfectly crispy with fresh slaw and really creamy sauces. The tortillas for the tacos tasted very fresh too, which made them even better. Both entrées came with lemon wedges that added a nice bright touch. The fish and chips were great and the fries were perfectly crisp. I still think about the crème brûlée. The texture and caramelized top were spot on. Portions were generous as well. We were staying at a nearby resort so it was an easy walk for us. The service was good, although we came when there was not much of a line. The truck is located in a lot with several other food trucks so it is easy to find. I cannot speak to parking since we walked. There are a couple of benches in front where you can sit and enjoy your food, and the truck sits under a huge tree which gives some nice shade from the heat. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for great vegan food.

I read rave reviews on here for the fish tacos so I orderes them and they did not disappoint. The vegan sour cream is so creamy, thr coleslaw is perfectly tangy and crunchy, and the vegan fish is delightful. My husband got the chicken tacos which were hot, in contrast to the fish tacos. They had avocado and a green sauce and we also liked these though the fish were our favorite. The hibiscus lemonade was lovely and refreshing also. The service here is very fast. We basically ordered and then looked around at the other truck menus and by that time our food was ready! I would definitely recommend this place especially for vegetarians and vegans and would love to come back!

The mai tai was unusual but palatable. The food was amazing! Still thinking about that Da Bao (Soy musubi patties, steamed buns, pickled carrots, daikon, jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, scallions, plum wine sauce) and how I'd like to eat it every day. The specialty rolls were works of art that were equally beautiful and had exquisite taste and texture. Manila Dune (Tempura pumpkin, spiced burdock, shredded tofu, avocado crema, chili, renkon chips) was dense but flavorful. Barbers (Smoked beets, spinach, avocado, soy strip, asparagus, rice crackers, seaweed pearls, spicy aioli, suspense) was intriguing as a little game of sushi roulette (hence the final ingredient). Whoever gets the spicy piece also gets the accompanying shot of sake. I was grateful my husband ended up getting that one because it was hot for him which means it would have been very hot for me. My only complaint with either of these specialty rolls is that each piece was quite large and therefor difficult to eat. I had to do the unconscionable thing and nibble away at it to comfortably eat it without it feeling like a choking hazard. Futo maki roll (Age tofu, spinach, shiitake, kanpyo, inari, pickled radish) was no less delicious for its simplicity. Quality was excellent, and everything on the menu sounded like something we wanted to try. We were so impressed by our meal we almost returned the following (our last) night. Lucky for us they have a restaurant in LA which I intend to visit next time I'm in town which is far more frequently than I'm in Honolulu. But would I consider flying to Oahu again for Tane Izakaya? Yes, yes I would.

The menu for 9-22-24 was a Bento and the dessert was a matcha flight - a scoop of ice cream, warabi mochi, and a regular mochi. Everything looked too beautiful to eat! We watched the workers assemble the bentos and matcha dessert flights. So much concentration and effort is put into each item! I was able to order one of the limited Kahi drinks. It's made with amazake, Yuzu purée, unsweetened yuzu soda, and matcha from Japan. The combination sounds odd, but tasted great! There were bits of yuzu with rind on the bottom of the cup. The citrus flavor was refreshing! This experience makes me want to sign up for the next event - October 13! I wonder what the menu will be...

The kouign amann seems like a popular item as we bought the last of them (we had wanted four, but there were only three) and it was still early afternoon. There is a parking garage nearby that allowed for long enough free parking for us to go order and grab our goodies to go. The caesar salad was great, a little heavy on the dressing but definitely tastes like a normal good caesar salad even though it's vegan! The white pizza with the ricotta was amazing and pro tip would be to add the mushrooms. It was my favorite of the 2 pizzas we ordered. We also tried the Brooklyn which has vegan meatball, tomato sauce, basil and again, the ricotta. Yum! The vegan meat easily disguises itself as real sausage. The ricotta is so good on my walk back to the parking I heavily considered researching if it's possible to buy a similar vegan ricotta just from the store. The crust is also top notch which strongly contributes to the quality of the pizza. Pricing is reasonable and service was great. Overall it's a place with a very chill vibe to enjoy good pizza- whether or not you're vegan.
