Sounds yum! Pre made and heated up after purchase
    Jazmenn B.

One word... YUMMY! After eyeing the mushroom melt for weeks I finally came here hungry and ready to try it. To my wonderful surprise they panini press the melt and although they are premade everything was very fresh to taste! Service was friendly and smooth. The girl at the counter told me how long it would take which was perfect because I had something to pick up, upstairs that would literally take me 5 minutes which was the estimate I got. It was perfect alignment. The real treat was biting into this flavor explosion. So yummy and even better because it's all dairy free! It's a huge sandwich for $12, I was hungry and could only finish half; but excited to reheat and have it for lunch tomorrow! Located inside the Hale Pawa'a building on the first floor across from the information desk, definitely worth a visit. I've also tried the scone (love that everything is vegan) the scone definitely needed to be paired with a drink, alone it was quite dry, which I realize is the norm. Thank you.

After physical therapy at Hale Pawa'a center, I decided to check out Juicy Brew for lunch. I picked up the Glass Noodle Salad (pictured) and Sunomono (pickled cucumber, not pictured) and I was overcharged by $3.00. I also observed a 2.9% Square Service Charge that I was not made aware of at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, the noodle salad was terrible in taste and texture. Very spicy and the noodles were all stuck and clumped together. It was difficult to eat without the noodles and toppings falling all over the place. The texture of the stuck together cold noodles were dry and funky. I do not recommend ordering this item. Cold Glass noodles: O/5 stars. The Sunomono was edible and not salty. It was $4.00. 3/5 stars. Service: 2/5 stars for incorrect charge and not informing me of service charges. I would've paid cash. The 2 star rating is for a cup of iced water I was provided with the salad. Ambiance: 2/5 stars. This is a countertop coffee shop based operation. No real decor. It's located on the first floor of Hale Pawa'a. I called the listed number for Juicy Brew to inform them of the incorrect charge and wanted to ask if this is the standard quality of the glass noodle salad. Perhaps it wasn't stored properly or was an older batch? However, at the number listed (808) 469-1991, no one answers and you are unable to leave a message. I did respond to the email request to let them know how my experience was, however, I have had no response as of the posting of my review. Update: 08/14/24- stopped by to check on the overcharge and glass noodle status. Nice employee acknowledged and reimbursed me for the $13.00! Very nice. She also offered me a substitute meal. She informed me that the phone number listed is no longer in service. I picked up the mushrooms sandwich. Stars for this visit: 4/5 service

An all vegan coffee stand in Hale Pawa'a. Most interesting latte choice I've seen in a while. I got the Black Velvet with an expresso shot. Black sesame, activated charcoal, vanilla syrup made with macadamia nut milk (Oat milk is the other choice). I only got a drink, but a variety of vegan food selections looked good (Breakfast items like scones and bagels to lunch bowls like kimchee mac & cheese and fried noodles). I'll definitely wait to eat before my mom's next appointment here so that I can try a few selections. Staff was fast and friendly once he returned from a 5-minute break. Indoor and limited outdoor seating. Easy to walk into off the corner of S. Beretania and Ke'eaumoku.

Located right in the heart of Hale Pawa'a lobby I've been curious of Juicy Brew as I've been having many doctors visit here usually after work 4ish they're always closed (3pm) so I never really knew what they have to offer going by the name I assumed it was a smoothie place...nope! This plant based cafe offers many items we're familiar with in a plant based style and yes they do have all your favorite brews from coffee, espresso, hot tea and even hot chocolate as it being plant based milk options are Oat, Pistachio and Macadamia. After a long 90 minute delay with my appointment I was annoyed enough to have some kind of craving and was just happy to see what they had to offer. Many of their food is a grab and go convenience from cookies, bagels and some pasta salads though one did catch my attention..."Watermelon Poke". Coincidentally it was National Watermelon Day and as I asked about it it has all the usual ingredients you'd make in a poke sauce though it marinated some chunks of watermelon...hmmm! Very interested I did get it as it already sounded refreshing and it was, BunBun and I enjoyed it and it was a nice twist from the usual beet or tofu version I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff here is just a delight to answer any questions, and though it may not be a low carb or something you'd have a on a diet this is a plant based cafe that offers some things that are unique and their own...amazing! Thank you!

I've always heard of Juicy Brew, but never tried it until recently. My brother is not a vegan, but he swears by this place because of their unique menu. I ordered the Korean fried "chick'n" hirata buns and an iced lavender matcha latte with macadamia nut milk. Everything was made fresh to order and so delicious! I couldn't finish the entire meal so I ended up sharing the other bun with my dad. He was pleasantly surprised that it was completely vegan. I can't wait to visit home again to try more items on Juicy Brew's menu.

Savory roll - tastes a lot like crab cakes!

Wow! My daughter recently discovered her sensitivity to dairy so we try to make as many meals as possible dairy-free. I've been following Juicy Brew on IG for awhile - the food looks fabulous - and with the additional pressure of having to deconstruct every little thing when we eat out we decided maybe going to a vegan place might be a lot less stressful - no more having to ask, "does this have dairy in it?" And we were right! But we were in no way prepared for the elegance and sheer deliciousness of this food! The lilikoi pineapple mochi waffles and the savory roll were amazing! The waffles were topped with what looked like housemade granola and Lilikoi curd (we're not sure if the pineapple would have been in the curd or in chunks or what) and was supreme! Sometimes when you get a mochi waffle it can be so sweet your teeth hurt - but not here! This dish was incredibly balanced. We got the savory roll - a strange, kind of nondescript name - but for $4 we thought we would give it a go. Well let me tell you, this baby was worth it! Full flavored goodness, great texture - we thought it tasted a lot like crab cakes. We also got a pesto mushroom melt sammie (portabella mushrooms, spinach, and a whole lotta other goodness) - it was really good too, and so satisfying! We haven't tried the cookie yet - you gotta save a little something for later! :) Street parking only but there are 3 metered stalls right in the front, as well as some free street parking on the adjacent street. People are flying in an out constantly so you just have to get lucky! In this time of COVID you can order online, call, or walk in and order - they're pretty flexible. And your order is ready pretty quickly! The ladies we talked to were really nice, even when we asked to add on to our order. We loved getting such a quality meal at such an affordable price - all that was around $35! - but we also loved supporting such a lovely local biz. Hopefully we'll be able to eat in soon!

I really wished I worked in this building. Having good quality coffee and amazing vegan and vegetarian food every day would be so great. I only come here when I have a doctor's appointment. So maybe every six months or so. I should really make an attempt to come here for lunch on a weekly basis because the food here is so good. I love the creativity with vegan foods. I mean how do you make jackfruit taste like tuna? It is so good the texture is just like tuna amazing. Their breakfast sandwiches will keep you full all the way through lunch. I love how they make their own "sausages" I mean if you did not know it was vegetarian you would not know the difference. It is not a store-bought processed food, but they make it in house. If you ever get a chance you should definitely try the portobello mushroom sandwich it is one of my favorites.

Dropped off my wife for a doctors appointment at the Hale Pawa'a this morning. I seen a nice little cafe in the Lobby so decided to get me a ice coffee. I ordered a iced coffee didn't realize this Cafe is a all vegan place. I realize this when I ask to add milk or sugar and the Barista replied we only have Soy, Almond, coconut milk and for sugar only cane liquid and Agave. I knew this place was a healthy place not for me give me my Starbucks lol.. Although their showcase with lunch items looks pretty good very healthy I guess I should start eating healthy. Like Saitan stuff Katsu , and Cauliflower stuff Aburage and other veggies. Overall very clean nice Barista friendly and of course very convenient the only place in the lobby

Delicious food! I love all the Hawaiian-infused options, I'd love to return to try everything. They also get bonus points for being the only vegan restaurant open on Sunday at 3 pm!

Vegan Breakfast Burrito. Barista toasted it so it was warm and crispy. Sauce pairs well. Very filling. Interesting textures.

Disclaimer: I am not vegan so I rarely eat vegan food. Oh... and please don't take utensils from them if you're not a paying customer. I made the mistake of doing so once. They're very strict about that. So much so they've stopped putting some of the utensils out. They'll include it with your food if you've made a purchase. They also heat up/ toast your food for you if you ask. The workers are pretty nice and friendly. Pricing for a container of food is usually around $10-15+. They do have muffins and stuff for around $5. You could easily unintentionally spend over $20 for a drink and a plate of something to eat. They offer drinks like teas and coffee. And food like containers of soup, noodles, overnight oats, tofu poke, etc. I've been here a couple of times to grab food when on a crunch for time during lunch breaks. They do a really good job of making vegan food appear like regular food with the different meat-like substitutions, using ingredients with different colors to seem more appetizing and incorporating different spices to mask the "vegan-ness" of the food. This is probably the first place I've encountered "jackfruit-meat", so it has a slivery texture like in animal meat with an interesting bite feel... it's different. Have an open mind. I do recommend the mac and cheese. The one I tried was very flavorful. It did a good job of masking the "vegan-ness". It even had fake vegan-friendly cheese on it. The spices used had soaked through into the noodles so it was very flavorful. The pad thai I've noticed a lot of people buy, but honestly it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bland for me. I've had to drown it in shoyu in order to eat it. The few cashews sprinkled over it did add some textures but that's about it. I had one coworker that lived by the breakfast burrito so I've tried that too. You have to get it with the sauce. I don't remember the name of the sauce but it was kinda like a salsa? Maybe. But yes, you will need the sauce. If not the burrito by itself is bland. It's huge and definitely filling. I was still full from breakfast to lunch. Seems like there's a lot of different things it in, if you'd ask me to name them I wouldn't be able to. Another coworker of mines recommended the farro salad. What is a farro salad? Good question. The ingredients varied from what I saw depending on the day. Same with the menu. It's a bunch of different things you need to chew. There's a lot of chewing involved. After a few bites your jaw muscles will remind you that they exist. The one I ordered was bland. Again, I had to drown it in shoyu in order to make it work. Most of the food items I've tried I would not order again. Maybe the mac and cheese, but that's only if I was going into diabetic shock and on a good day. All in all, if you are vegan you might very well enjoy this place. If you are not, please know that with some walking you can expand your meal options. There's Itchy Butt and Keeaumoku Seafood behind the gas station. There's also Foodland up the street.

Whenever I visit my optometrist I stop by here for some yummy vegan food and treats! I've ventured off to try new things and it was a hit or miss, but my favs are the seasonal mochi-treats that change weekly. Haven't tried them all, but most are yummy. If it looks good and fresh, try it! The Vegan Apple Banana muffins are good too. Today I tried the Quinoa salad; Golden beets, capers, shallots, carrots, green onions, almonds. Quite Delicious for a late lunch snack. I like how they show the Date it was made and B.B. (best before) date. A little pricey but Treat Yo'self to Clean, Fresh and Healthy once in a while!! lol

I've eaten here many times, both at the Kaimuki location and at the Keeamoku location. I do like the food, mostly. But you have to be careful about what you order. I've been a vegetarian for 30 years now and I'm of the philosophy that vegetables taste good just as they are. Give me a plate of steamed kale or broccoli and I'm happy. However, Juicy Brew's philosophy is more along the line of turning vegetables into animal-product-facsimiles. So I would say that Juicy Brew's vision would appeal more to meat-eaters who are making a foray into vegetarianism/veganism. For example, their breakfast sandwich has 2 meat substitutes but in reality, it really contains 2 slabs of bean-derived paste, both of which taste nearly identical and makes for very heavy eating, especially for breakfast. I have not ordered that one again. When they have a bowl-dish, like "okayo" donburi or a loco moco, those are delicious. Very homey tasting. However, while they may look like the supposed meat-filled dishes they are replacing, they generally do not taste like them. But nevertheless, they still are tasty and I get those when they are on the menu. I would say their food is generally quite heavy with lots of sauces, vegan cheese, vegan mayo, etc. They sometimes do a pasta dish or stir fry but they always include meat-substitutes. These tend to be lighter so I gravitate toward those as well. They make a mean potato salad, which is a nice, but again, heavy, side dish. I would definitely recommend going there and trying the food. Like I said, I am a regular there and I know what to expect and I am careful about what I order.

Mahalo plenty for this truly delightful "special" I tried today! From the poofy buns and all the veggies and other incredible textures and flavors nestled inside, this was sooooo good! I could only eat one and get to enjoy again tomorrow!!! Hey I don't think I'll wait to come back next Dr appt, lol!! Mahalo again and again...

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

I would say it's pretty sweet, but the macadamia nut flavor wasn't really that prominent. It was just sweet. I wish the coffee was also stronger, but it was pretty light. The sandwiches here were pretty good too. I tried the veggie breakfast sandwich which only had some greens and eggs. I tried a bite of the protein breakfast sandwich and I think I probably like that one better haha. Although, the veggie one was definitely a lot more lighter and easy to consume.
