As I ordered they let me know they were busy that morning so my drink might take a little longer to be ready, which I was ok with. If you are looking for a yummy and healthy place, I love this plant-based cafe. Extra points for eating there with the food served on real plates and flatware with no waste! Their water cups are glass, too. You can get the whole menu all day which is nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good amount of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Support a local small business. It's Japanese-owned. My niece and I decided to try this plant-based eatery located on the Auahi Street side of SALT in Kaka'ako. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First thing we noticed was that it was dog friendly as there was a bowl of water outside the establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu looked interesting, and having a special $12.00 food & drink paring was what we went for. We both ordered the Avocado Toast (crispy only on the outside crusts but flavorful in the center), and Homemade Ginger Ale, which was refreshing and not too sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't a lot of seating but we managed to find a corner spot until something more roomy opened up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The place was hopping, with customers waiting for their meals being served before we were, which was okay. The folks that run the place are friendly and accommodating, and even apologized for making us wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of parents and kids and a man with three little dogs came in for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also sell different types of honey and little cooler bags. A lovely little spot I'd highly recommend.

Make sure to try their $12 food & drink special, it's such a great deal! Coconut Curry w/ Sautéed Veggies: 11/10, INCREDIBLE!! I can't believe that this curry is gluten free & entirely plant based because it tastes significantly better than any other curry I've tried (& I've tried many). There's something magical in this curry, I swear. The mild spice level is perfect for me, & the vegetables perfectly complement the curry. I don't usually enjoy asparagus, but it tastes great with this curry! Mango Jammin Coffee: 10/10, such a unique twist on standard coffee. This is one of their specialty drinks & I can see why - the coffee is quite strong, yet blends really beautifully with the sweetness of the mango. I enjoy eating the mango bits too :) Avocado Toast: My friend rated this a 9/10, it's a good avocado toast with the perfect amount of seasoning. The bread was toasted really nicely too. Banana Bread: 10/10, exactly what great banana bread tastes like! The banana flavor is strong & the bread is really moist. Lots of banana breads that I've tried in the past have either been really dry, don't have enough banana flavor, or sometimes a combination of both, but this banana bread was anything but! Tantan Curry Noodles: 11/10, just like the coconut curry, this one is also SO delicious!! The noodles were perfectly cooked, the spice level of the curry added a nice kick while not being too spicy, & the tomatoes & onions were an awesome addition to the dish.
ALÔ café has this nice small cafe vibe that I really enjoy. It's one of those places that just feels comfortable. Fits the chill SALT vibe. I've been here a few times now and this time I got their açaí bowl with peanut butter. It's actually pretty filling - more than I expected when I first tried it. I've had açaí bowls around the island before, and this one's a solid choice. Nothing groundbreaking, but it definitely does the job. It's got that welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stick around for a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll probably keep going back. There is not a ton of seating though so it might be wise to be ready to takeout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside, it has a very calm feeling with plants and boho decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The person who took our order was kind and our cacao bowl came out quickly. We got the small cacao PB banana bowl. It was good. Definitely a solid option for this bowl. It reminded me of the monkey bowl from Lanikai Juice. It was a bit pricey, as some of the items on the menu are. The food items range from noodle bowls to other bowls to acai bowls to toasts to drinks. They market the cafe as plant-focused with local and healthy ingredients so that might justify some of the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a cute and sweet spot that we are glad we tried![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe here is instantly calming: clean, earthy decor, light music, and that subtle herbal aroma that already makes you feel lighter before the first sip.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Stress Relief itself was perfectly balanced -- smooth, slightly floral, and just the right amount of sweetness. You can taste hints of mint and maybe chamomile, making it feel more like a wellness ritual than just a drink. Presentation was beautiful too; served in a sleek cup with care, which added to the overall mindful experience. Service was warm and attentive. The staff genuinely seemed proud of what they serve and took time to explain the ingredients. It's rare to find a café that blends wellness, aesthetic, and good flavor -- but Alo nails it. Definitely coming back to sample more from their functional drink lineup. If you're having one of those days, this little spot might be exactly what you need.

Nice cute cafe at Salt. Been to their downtown location and this one at Salt has more space/seating. Food -5/5 Ambiance -5/5 Service - 3/5 Service is ok. It is better at their downtown location. Simple things like acknowledging a customer is at the counter and greeting them would be nice. I was at the counter and the girl behind the counter just looked at me and continued on with what she was doing. Then after a few minutes another girl came up and took my order. We had a couple of their acai bowls and the vegetable curry. Acai bowls were good. Fresh fruits and nicely presented. It is a bit pricey tho. The curry was very good as well. Nice spice. Veggies were fresh. Despite being a bit pricey, the quality of food is good. Service could be better (ie like their downtown location). Great location at Salt so it's a nice cafe to hang out and have some coffee/food.
Grand opening special was worth the visit! Located in Salt at Kakaako along the outside. Cute and small restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. The menu were all vegan options. It was mainly the acai bowls that caught my attention. I ordered the large acai bowl. The toppings were so colorful. There were banana, pineapple, strawberry, blueberries, chocolate nibs, honey, and mac nut. It was soo refreshing and yummy! Would love to be back for their other acai bowl flavors.
This place is amazing. Never thought that plant based food could taste this delicious!! The chef was so kind, came out and talked with us and let us sample their banana bread with some kind of coconut dipping sauce that was out of this world good!! We got their morning veggie burrito with hawaiian ginger lemonade combo and the fire cracker tantan ramen. Omg it was soooooo good!!! We will definitely be back! Portion size is very generous...Come to the windward side please!! We need more vegan options in Kaneohe! Next time I want to try the curry..chef brought out a sample and it was bomb.com
Welcome ALO! Look who's here in Kaka'ako ;-) ALO Cafe in the former J's location and I'm just so excited as I've been loving their smoothies and now that they're in Kaka'ako their Minty Hawaiian has always been my go to and it's all plant based vegan. Parking is easier than you think in SALT one hour is free without validation and with some metered street parking through the area getting a healthy yet yummy sip is now easy here at Kaka'ako, staff here are still new and wasn't as...prepared it seemed. Not only is everything plant based here it's not just the usual smoothies and açaí bowl but savory items like ramen, salads and coconut curry are available as well...how about free WiFi! There is one slight hiccup is the A/C...none here and seem to take in the natural breeze I guess but at this early morning time I was sweating and hope it won't be like this during the summertime. Lovely place with super cute decor and seating area is a welcome sight to this cool place in town. Thank you!

The Coconut Curry & Veggie bowl at ALO CAFE tastes absolutely amazing!! I could eat this every other day if possible. It is made with fresh veggies and a housemade curry sauce that is light and flavorful. After enjoying an Açaí Bowl and Coffee for breakfast at their original location in Waikiki, I just had to try their lunch options at SALT at Our Kakaʻako! It was our last day on vacation in Honolulu and healthy lunch options were at the tip of my tastebuds. I saw photos of the Coconut Curry & Veggie bowl, so I was determined to stop by on the way to the airport. So happy we did because my tummy was happy!! In addition to the curry bowl, we ordered another one of their Signature Bowls: Lilikoi Bowl! We enjoyed this so much in Waikiki, we had to have it again! The base is housemade with oat milk and topped off with granola, berries, kiwi, macadamia nuts, cacao nibs, and honey. Delicious! Service was kind, but arrive with patience. Ordered the açaí bowl with peanut butter and it was so good. The açaí was smooth, cold, and not overly sweet, and the peanut butter added the perfect creamy, nutty richness. Everything was well-balanced and super satisfying. Toppings were fresh, portions were generous, and it didn't feel watered down like some açaí bowls can be. A great option when you want something filling but still refreshing. read more

One of my new favorite cafes! I've always been curious of their Waikiki location and was elated to hear they opened one up in kaka'ako! I love all the food and the workers were super sweet and explained everything thoroughly so I could figure out what I wanted to try. I received a text with a'coupon' to try their strawberry matcha latte. When I got to there, I was told there really isn't any coupon but she gave me a 10% off. I am quite disappointed in their strawberry matcha. It was definitely not worth $9 (after the 10% discount ) as it didn't have any matcha taste. All I could taste was the oat milk and strawberry puree. It was small and half the cup was full of ice. This is unfortunate because I've had their food and other teas before and have always enjoyed it. read more

While looking at the menu outside, the cashier offered us some samples and discount stickers. I got the chocolate peanut butter bowl with and iced coffee and my friend got the acai bowl. It's a very charming cafe at SALT in Kakaako that has some of the prettiest entrees you'll ever see. Not only is it appealing but delicious and healthy as well! I had the coconut curry + veggie; homemade coconut curry, organic rice, sautéed cauliflower, asparagus, and red cabbage. It was delicious! The curry was very flavorsome with a hint of coconut, not overwhelming. The vegetables were nicely sautéed so they weren't mushy but crisp. I also had the Jammin' Iced Coffee, a cafe latte with homemade lilikoi mix (pitaya & berries) jam. I chose to have mine with oat milk. It was really refreshing and satisfying. I enjoy a good cup of coffee, and this one was an interesting blend of ingredients. It all blended together well without taking away from the flavor of the coffee. The service was excellent; pleasant and welcoming. There's different types of seating both in and out of the cafe. Very comfortable place to relax and enjoy a nice meal. + Colorful and flavorful food. The fire cracker tan tan ramen is so rich and tasty. It's hard to believe it is all plant based. + Great ambiance. Nice and relaxing and airy. Great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. + Creative food menu. They have more than just coffee, smoothies, açaí bowls and breakfast. They have ramen, curry rice, taco, roll and salad on the menu too. I wish they would open for dinner as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by to get a quick bite to go, but ended up staying to eat it since the ambiance was so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Acai bowl was super tasty and surprisingly filling! I got the mango jammin' coffee since I'm always curious about new things, but they have a lot of other aesthetic drinks. The coffee comes out bitter/strong, which is actually my preference! Not sure I care for the jam inside my coffee, but now I know. What really stood out to me is the customer service! I saw both the male and female employee going above and beyond for the customers, but constantly having a genuine smile on their face. read more

Cute new cafe in Kaka'ako! My friend and I each got the veggie coconut curry and it was sooooo good. Such good flavor, a balanced plate, and a good portion size. I also got an iced matcha latte which was great as well. I'll definitly be coming here again for an açaí bowl or to try another veggie dish! read more

This was my first visit here, and the entire staff was some of the most amazing, friendly, happy, and wonderfully outstanding group of individuals from front of the house to the back of the house. I ordered the Firecracker Ramen, and Dragon bowl, and both were so tasty and delicious! The food was fresh and you could tell the meals were prepared with excellent care and love for the food and customer experience! The cafe was so welcoming and relaxed it was easy to find a table and enjoy your food in a pleasant comfortable and clean environment. This is an amazing neighborhood cafe that locals and tourists should not miss out on trying! I can't wait to go back again, and I want to personally thank the staff for a fantastic experience and wish them all the best for working hard! I left the cafe, happy, satisfied, and wowed by the great service and hospitality. Something that has been missing in many other restaurants I've visited. Keep up the great work and food! read more
