Small diner on the main drag of Two Harbors. It happened to be next door to the bookstore we visited. The food was fine. I had Judy's Favorite Sandwich which was a fried egg Sammy with ham and cheese. It was heavy on the ham, but yummy. My husband had the Rueben (you all know what that is), and he liked it very much. Fries and onion rings were perfect. The customer service was NOT perfect. At least for non-locals. She was perfectly friendly and chatty with the other 4 groups that were in the restaurant. However, with us, she started out by sloshing water on my foot...no apology. She forgot my husband's soda...no apology. Did not come back to the table or look at our table u til she brought the bill. As I paid at the register, not one smile...no "thanks for coming in"...no "have a nice day". If anything, I'd recommend curb-side pick-up. read more

Judy's is for me a destination. Any trip to Two Harbors and around is made a little better by the experience. Friendly staff who will come to recognizant you if or as you return. We ordered breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly, exactly how we asked it to be cooked. There was nothing we ordered that tasted bad. It was all delicious and it came out of the kitchen fast . The reason for not a perfect review was due to our waitress.. she seemed to be really annoyed/poor attitude. We had breakfast here while playing some golf up North. This reminded us of some of the traditional Dinners on the East Coast (food wise I mean). Super busy on this Saturday morning. Just two of us, so we sat at the bar to leave the tables for six to bigger parties. Great local community feel. Servers were on it. You could really see the dynamic between them and they were killing it. Food came out quick, even with the packed house, and it was great. You have to try to the Cranberry Wild Rice Bread!! Stopped in here on a Sunday morning on our way south from our weekend on the North Shore. Despite a short wait, and a packed house, our breakfast was served up quick and hot. The wait staff was hurried, but not unfriendly. And the breakfast food was very good. Nothing super fancy, but good quality food, like what you'd expect from a local cafe/diner. I had corned beef hash and pancakes, which were all tasty. My only complaint was the syrup, which seemed like it was straight from a can. Would like something more authentic up north. read more

Old school diner, which means the eggs and hash browns are cooked to perfection! Hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Try the hash browns "smothered and covered" with sweet, grilled onions and cheese. The toast is super hardy, made from a dense sourdough bread or their cranberry wild rice bread. Stop in for breakfast after a couple of nights camping at Split Rock Lighthouse SP. was looking for a big, hearty meal after meager backpacking food and man did Judy's deliver. It's a small, quaint place in the diner style, lots of locals and a friendly atmosphere. I ordered some coffee (which was kept filled) and the steak and eggs which was a bargain at $10.95! While it was all great with tons of hash browns cooked to perfection I have to say the highlight was the toast - yes the toast. I order the homemade cranberry and wild rice toast and it was incredible! Highly recommend, Judy's I will be back! On a side note, they do all you can eat walleye dinner on Friday nights that I will have to try in the future. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. It seems like breakfast is the best part of the menu here. I ordered the steak and eggs with hash browns (added cheese, onion, and ham) and sourdough toast. The steak was juicy, albeit there was a big piece of gristle in the middle, and the has browns were good, particularly topped with hot sauce. My wife ordered the chicken tender basket (I think that's what it was called) and it was a disappointment. She ate two of the four tenders and was not very impressed. They looked (they were the exact same shape and length) and tasted (I tried one) like frozen chicken tenders. So, order breakfast. read more

Absolutely delicious greasy-spoon breakfast; we stopped here on our way to Split Rock Lighthouse, and we will definitely be back for all our travels up north. Breakfast is served all day. Everything we had was delicious: perfectly prepared omelets, eggs, and, greatest of all, awesome hash browns. Get the hash browns with onion and cheese; you won't regret it. We were coming through two harbors and actually stopped at Betty's Pies, but when we were told there would be a 45 minute wait we opted to keep driving and then stumbled upon this place. What a great misfortune. Betty's pies appeared very commercialized and mass produced, the opposite of this. It's a small town kind of diner/cafe. They meals were good, the service was prompt (immediate seating) and the dessert was awesome. My wife had the apple dumpling which was our favorite. read more

Good food, small glasses...... On a recent trip north, we were bumming around Two Harbors and found ourselves hungry just after lunch time. We popped into Judy's for a quick lunch. The place at 2pm was PACKED! I've decided it's the kind of place people go in town and more than likely talk about each other. We were seated at the only table that would fit all 6 of us, right near the door. I was watching the people come in and out. They all knew each other! They were coming in just for a piece of pie and coffee! That doesn't happen around here. The server promptly brought menus and explained the specials to us. Most of us ordered sandwiches, I ordered a grilled chicken breast and salad with a Diet Pepsi. The drinks came out in very small glasses, even the pop! It was hot and I was thirsty! That water and pop were gone in no time and I had to wait until after the food was served. My food came and it was decent, nothing out of this world. I will say everyone else ordered fries and I didn't. Good thing, I ate everyone 's leftovers - they were crinkle cuts! Mmmm. There isn't much to choose from, but for the $50 the 6 of spent total on lunch, it wasn't bad. The pie looked awesome. If I go back, fries, coconut cream pie and a DP. read more

We stopped in on Monday at 9:00am on our way back to Minneapolis. We've driven by a handful of times and decided to stop for in for a quick bite. The menu is standard for a diner. They were only doing breakfast at that time but we had no trouble finding things we were interested in. We both ended up with the Scattered,Smothered and Covered hashbrowns. Perfectly greasy Browns covered cheese and fried onions. Fella added a sausage patty that was good and I had an over easy egg. Cheap for what we got and very quick - overall a bargain. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the second time I have been to Judy's hoping that this experience would be better. It was not! First off, it took forever to get a water and coffee. The food was mediocre at best. Very obviously frozen food warmed up to order. The worst part. Our waitress was extremely rude acting as if she didn't even want to take our order and treated our sons food allergy as if it was nothing. Judy's is a very typical "mom and pop" place. My daughter ordered the breakfast. She got 2 eggs, pancakes and hashbrowns. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband got the steak sandwich which is really just steak with a side of toast but he enjoyed it and it was also cooked perfectly. The side salads are very minimal, bagged lettuce a tomato slice and a couple of croutons, I wouldn't recommend. I ordered the chicken strip sandwich and it was ok. We stopped in on a Wednesday before the dinner rush hour. Like many others have said before it is a great greasy spoon diner. Very glad we stopped as the prices and portions were perfect. The service was friendly and our food was in front of us within 15 minutes. The kids loved their plate-sized pancakes and my walleye sandwich was fantastic.
