A must stop when you're in the area. We were doing a driving tour on our way to Voyageurs and sooooo many people suggested Betty's Pies. Luckily the wait wasn't too long, but I know it can get a little long on weekends. Luckily there are plenty of places to wait outside, with all the gorgeous scenery. We waited about 30 minutes, but it was worth it! I was excited to see vegetarian and gluten free options. Our waitress was very friendly and made some great suggestions. I went for the gluten free "backpacker" veggie burger and I have to say, it was maybe one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. Wild rice patty with the Swiss cheese, grilled onions, chipotle mayo- it was just an incredible combo. Came with a side of chips, because the fries are not gf. But wow, super yummy sandwich and a gluten free bun. And the dessert! I got the gf peanut butter pie, my piece was HUGE, I was eating it happily for days. I just know that I'm gonna have to take another trip to MN just to come to Betty's and get this meal again.

If you ever want a good pie, visit Betty's Pies! Nice and friendly service, with quick and easy ordering. We didn't go inside since they have you go to the tent for to-go orders. But the pies are the stars of the place. The pies tastes so good, and seems to have the freshest ingredients .

So much yum! We did the walk-up line for some to-go pie slices. They also had some daily specials, a food menu, and indoor restaurant but we chose to get our slices and sit out on their picnic benches. The caramel apple pie... heavenly. I could eat the crumble topping by the jar full. I wish we had brought a slice home to stick in the microwave and eat warm. The Butterfinger cream pie was surprisingly not overly sweet. The filling was fluffy and it had a layer of chocolate on the bottom between the filling and crust. We made this a must-do stop on our north shore trip and will definitely stop again!

The people working were nice & attentive. The sandwich we settled on splitting was really good & thevonion rings were too. I had the pumpkin pie. It was good, had a nice spice. I wouldn't say it was incredibly unique though. I tried the wife's berry pie & that was great! The prices are good for portions.

A Minnesota destination! The parking lot is tricky but they expanded it. During the busy summer months, the pie service line is outdoors. Some picnic tables and port o potties. We also noticed from our last visit ( a couple of years ago) they improved the road situation so now there's a dedicated left turn lane into Betty's. They have a great selection of cream pies. You can get the whole pie or by the slice. And the toffee pie we got did not disappoint! Creamy, chocolaty, and sweet. Definitely needed some coffee to wash down the sugar rush! I also saw that they offer some gluten free pies.

Betty's Pies is a must-stop along the North Shore. The pies are fantastic, with so many varieties to choose from, the toffee cream and caramel apple in particular are standouts. Service is quick and friendly, and the ordering system makes it easy to get your slices fast. A true North Shore classic that lives up to the hype. My favorite pies in the area.

I was a little disappointed since this place was so hyped up but it was a pretty average slice of pie. I also tried the great lakes and caramel apple pie. The crust was dry and hard in the cream pie, but the filling was good. I'd probably stick to the regular non cream pies since those can be heated up to make the crust softer. The crust wasn't as flaky as I would expect from such a popular place, maybe they were better before they got really popular? If you did want to stop here I'd recommend the great lakes pie since I enjoyed the filling in that particular pie. The service was quick and they were nice! They also have a takeout system.

This is a tradition. We stop and get pie in the way up north. Service is always amazingly fast, friendly and just super easy. We just got pie so we have to order outside and eat it outside. I got three different slices paranormal routine and we all get to try different flavors of pie each time we go we get a different flavor. Makes it kind of fun And haven't had any bad Pay yet

This place was a "must go" spot all over TikTok so we had to go! After a couple hikes in the morning at the nearby state parks along the lake, we stopped at Betty's Pies. We were starving and were seated so quickly! The takeout orders are taken outside in order to avoid foot traffic inside. I got the first thing I saw on the menu, which was the Isle Royale Chicken Pesto Sandwich and my boyfriend got the Beargrease burger. The pesto sandwich was a delicious chicken breast sandwich on a ciabatta bread, slathered in pesto aioli, banana peppers, and feta cheese. I subbed the fries for onion rings. The Beargrease burger was incredibly flavorful, topped with chipotle mayo, pepper jack, and grilled onions and it came with fries as well. And they have the best fries, in my opinion, which are the crispy straight fries. Our waitress was sweet and answered all of our questions. We had to finish our meal with pies so we got the French Silk cream pie, and I tried the Great Lakes Crunch top pie- A MUST GET! It was a fruit pie with warm, soft apples, strawberries, rhubarb, blueberry, and raspberry, topped with a warm crunch top and we topped it with whipped cream. Def a must-stop place when in the area!

A stop we always take up north! This place has grown so much it's crazy. They have it operating quite efficiently which is nice. I prefer the to go side so we can get in and out quickly. The food is decent. Tried the belated fried chicken today and it was cooked perfectly. The kids meals are $6.50 and come with applesauce or fries and a Capri Sun. For press we got the Great lakes pie with a crinkle topping (a family favorite), coconut cream, decent, and key lime (no limes are used in the making of this so I was disappointed that it tasted like like jello, not true key lime). There are a few picnic tables set up outside. Definitely not a healthy drop, but enjoyable!

People raved about this place, and when we found out we were taking a trip to the North Shore, we knew we had to stop. The wait was about 40 minutes at noon on a Thursday, but the amazing hostess at the check-in desk was telling jokes the whole time. She was hilarious, and it made our wait really quick and enjoyable. We were taken back to a big booth for six, and our server was with us right away. We ordered way too much food, but it was all tasty. We got the Beargrease Burger, the Palisade Pulled Pork, the Stewart River Cheesesteak, Betty's Special, and a couple of kids meals. Everything was really good! And then we got pie. We talked about sharing a couple of slices, but we couldn't decide, so we got four between the six of us. These slices were giant! I am so glad this place isn't near me, because I would be there weekly for the pie. Wow! I highly recommend to anyone who is in the area. The wait is worth it!

We had to wait a while but it was so worth every minute of it!the root beer float is delicious! I had The Betty's Classic which was a cup of "the soup the day" (chicken and wild rice) and half a chicken salad sandwich. It also included a slice of pie. I recommend the Maple Walnut, think of a pecan pie if you will.

Stopped by Betty's pie before seeing the leaves change colors. I think their onion rings honestly were my top 3 in Minnesota from their breakfast/lunch menu. Obviously we came for the pies and had to try as many as we could stomach (we failed and had to take some to go on top of us ordering another pie each). I'd say check out Betty's definitely for their pies as a pit stop before you line up to see the leaves changing colors!

I had suggested going to our usual go to, the Ledge Rock Grill at Larsmont. My wife insisted staying closer to home and taking advantage of the Valentines seven course dinner menu at Vue North in Superior Shores Resort. We got to the restaurant and were promptly seated at a window table as requested in our reservation. Being a true foodie from way back, I always opt for a well prepared gourmet meal as opposed to a standard menu. I have to admit I was skeptical when I booked the reservation, but am pleased to say the current Chef hit it out of the park. Every course was over the top and a clear ten. Obviously a lot of thought and talent went into both the creation of the menu and preparation of each course. I haven't had a gourmet meal of this caliber in years. The ambiance was excellent, the service was great, and each course was a ten!

Still, I don't regret going here. We sat by a window with a decent view of the water and plenty of light. Our server was very friendly and helpful. While we waited for our food, we walked out on the deck, which led to scenic marshy areas with trails. I ordered beet wellington with arugula, and my spouse had a chicken dish with risotto. Just half of the beet wellington with the arugula was enough to fill me up. I liked the beet wellington, but it would have been better if they figured out a way to season the beet. Maybe pierce it and marinate it a bit? The chicken and risotto were also good. If we were hungrier, we would have supplemented these dishes with more vegetables. This was a nice place to stop before returning on a long drive home. We enjoyed relaxing in the spacious dining room with evocative upscale cabin decor. As I finished typing this, my spouse chimed in, "Not amazing, but pretty good." And in a touristy area where restaurant quality can be hit or miss, pretty good is exactly that: pretty good. We'll take it.
