Grand superior is a fantastic resort and the food is great. Lovely drinks and good atmosphere which is relaxing and slow paced. Look forward to going again.

Food 4/5 - We have lunch here on their beautiful patio and the food was great. The burger salad was delicious and the French fries were crispy. Service / Ambiance 4/5 - The outdoor patio has great scenery, although a little windy. The servicer we had was very friendly and helpful.

This was the "meal" for 2 people

We spent $120 for the most expensive appetizer (for one person) you could ever order. DO NOT pay for their "snow globe experience". The fondue appetizer was there, but in the table outside before we arrived and under an inadequate heater so the food was cold - as was the entire short lived experience. The wine flight was there, but it was church wine. We did not have the s'mores because we chose to leave after 30min due to the lack of heat. The fondue meal was for one person at best (see pic). The fondue bowl had a broken pretzel in it and we presume from the previous guests (ew!). The snow globe was so inefficiently heated, we chose to leave without finishing after 30min. Unbelievably, the waitress admitted she was questioning whether it was warm enough with the first group... we could see our breath. But yet she still let us go in and then charged us the full $60pp.for what should have been a nearly 2 hr experience! Do not pay for this "experience".

It's hard to find a nice dining restaurant around this area. There are not a lot of options close by, so this place stood out. It is located on the resort right on the north shore. We did not make reservations but they do recommend it. It was 4:30 on a Saturday evening and it was pretty quiet. Inside, all seats will give you a beautiful view of Lake Superior. It was very nice and peaceful inside. The menu has a great variety for all the picky eaters out there. We both went for the walleye dinner. It sounded too good to pass up. It was that and so much more. The herb seasoning over the parmesan breading was so good!! It was all so delicious and highly recommend getting this dish. We also splurged and got vanilla cheesecake with a strawberry drizzle. A great way to recharge and end a long day of hiking!

We were visiting the Northshore, and staying at the Grand Superior for a couple of nights. We were going to get pizza delivered, but they don't this far out of town. So, we decided to have dinner at the resort restaurant. I'm so glad we did because the food was delicious, and better than I expected it to be. The white fish sandwich was so good, and the homemade kettle chips. My husband ordered the reuben, and said it was the best one he has had. The meat was braised in a castle danger beer from the brewery near by. Our waitress in the evening was pleasant, and kept our drinks filled. We had a flat tire while on our trip, so we ended up also having breakfast here the next morning. It was pretty good, but the biscuits and gravy could have had more sausage in it. The service was a little slow compared to the night before, and it wasn't even busy. I loved the view of the Lake Superior while we enjoyed our breakfast though.

A great window seat. They didn't have a brewed iced tea, but I wanted something homemade.Scrub it is. Lavender, basil, and vinegar. Sounds weird yet absolutely delicious. A very thirst quenching fizzy drink. I started with a duck chowder. A generous cup of the best. No matter what the chowder is here, get it. It's very well balanced and so creamy. I got a green salad which was average. We both got the butcher's steak. It's sliced with a delicious cognac sauce. Tender and a perfect MR. It includes a side. I got some creamy mashed potatoes. Basil got wild rice. Something I don't order anymore cause it's usually so damn dull. Not here, nothing like it anywhere. I'm just gobbling it up. Next time. We shared a strawberry shortcake. In reality it was a piece of strawberry cake. Nothing shortcake about it. I just had a few bites. As I left I spotted a plate of the watermelon mozzarella salad. The guy told me it was amazing, next time for that too. That could fill in as dessert also. Ben was the best waiter, so helpful to these first timers and he looks forward to seeing us next year. An interesting place with all tourists. You get such a mix of casual and fancy the menu is the same way. Yet it all fits in. A fun drive from the hotel and A great experience.

I'm from NJ but a friend from MN recommended this place telling me it's the best beer in the state. I visited on a Saturday in August and it looks like a lot of others agreed because it was absolutely slammed my whole time there. They had three lines at the bar for ordering beer and all three were packed with people all the way to the door. The taplist featured a nice variety of beers including a Märzen, a lime lager, a cream ale, a stout, etc. Almost no two beers were alike. I had a flight and the beers I had were good, but nothing really wowed me. I've been to over a hundred breweries in NJ and I've never seen THC drinks on a taplist, so that was unique for me. They also had a nice variety of hard seltzers and hard slushies, plus a wide variety of NA options including NA beers. So something for everyone here. Overall a nice spot with competently brewed beers that I would return to if I were ever in the area again.

Bent Paddle's mission is to create a unique craft beer experience while also being sustainable for the business, employees, environment, and community. And they deliver on it all. I got a flight to enjoy some of their more limited offerings. Munchin Pretzels: An Oktoberfest beer brewed with traditional German Malts and Hops. I get toasted bread malt character with a bit of sweetness, but rounded out by a hop bitterness. The malt profile is definitely the forefront and I wished I had a pretzel to go with it. Infinity Stuf: An Oatmeal Stout that they went all out with 100 pounds of Oreos. Nutty oatiness, chocolate, and medium fullness. I appreciate it not being a Pastry Stout, but still get lots of Oreo character. A Beer of Their Own: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with a Bar Of Their Own in the Twin Cities. Tropical fruit forward - primarily melon and cantaloupe, with a nice finish. Stratarado: A Hoppy Pale Ale brewed with Strata and El Dorado (get the name?). Tropical fruit, pineapple, some sweetness on the tongue. Liked this one a lot. ______

It is a perfect location for the Covid time - away from town, private and pretty isolated. We stayed in the split rock room and it was just perfect. So many great little touches and details. Nice nautical decor, lots of Lake Superior photos, maps, etc and we found a book about Minnesota and Wisconsin waterfalls that we took with us on one of our day trips. If you stay in the split rock room, look for it in the first bedroom. Really good! The room has a teeny little stove and sink, micro, a great coffee pot and toaster and most of the things you would need to cook for yourself. The two bedrooms have really comfy beds, and is super clean and well lit. The couches in the bedrooms are great! I had an awesome view of the lake (you cant get to it from here though) and it really is quiet. I heard nothing from the neighbors- so the sound proofing is good. There is a community fire pit, nice outdoor furniture on a sweet little deck- hammocks, grill- really nice outdoor set up. It is also right next to the bike trail and they rent bikes. Super close to Gooseberry Falls state park as well. We really appreciated the folder that had relevant information about the area, including restaurants and sight seeing spots.
