My sister and I took a much needed trip away from our homes, and she found this location while looking for places to stay on the north shore. It is a perfect location for the Covid time - away from town, private and pretty isolated. We stayed in the split rock room and it was just perfect. So many great little touches and details. Nice nautical decor, lots of Lake Superior photos, maps, etc and we found a book about Minnesota and Wisconsin waterfalls that we took with us on one of our day trips. If you stay in the split rock room, look for it in the first bedroom. Really good! The room has a teeny little stove and sink, micro, a great coffee pot and toaster and most of the things you would need to cook for yourself. The two bedrooms have really comfy beds, and is super clean and well lit. The couches in the bedrooms are great! I had an awesome view of the lake (you cant get to it from here though) and it really is quiet. I heard nothing from the neighbors- so the sound proofing is good. There is a community fire pit, nice outdoor furniture on a sweet little deck- hammocks, grill- really nice outdoor set up. It is also right next to the bike trail and they rent bikes. Super close to Gooseberry Falls state park as well. We really appreciated the folder that had relevant information about the area, including restaurants and sight seeing spots. On my travels along Lake Superior I stayed at J Gregers Inn on Hwy 61. The new owner, Danielle Junjak, was very welcoming when we arrived. She got us checked in and recommended somewhere to eat after we asked. We found that our room, Gooseberry Room, in the Inn was an updated north woods style. While it was small, it was cozy and had everything we needed - refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot, and a cabinet with dishes and supplies for coffee and tea. The room also had a small table and chairs. Other features included a view of Lake Superior from the yard and a bicycle path that runs along Hwy. 61 for miles. The J Gregers Inn offers bike rentals too. Nearby attractions are Gooseberry Falls State Park to the south and Split Rock Lighthouse State Park and Historical Site to the north. I would recommend the J Gregers Inn to anyone touring along Lake Superior. A cabin is also available. It is definitely a place I would return to again. read more

We found this Inn on the internet as we traveled up the coast to Canada late in the season. We only needed a place for overnight and they had a small room available at a very good price. We found the room to be adequate size for us and was very clean, well organized and had everything we needed except the Wi-Fi. We were told they had Wi-Fi, although due to the location it could be spotty. We were given a password but, it didn't work and it was so late we just gave up. They have a beautiful property here, right on the bike trail and a convenient drive to the area activities. So I would stay here again, if the Wi-Fi was working better. read more

My wife, three kids and I all stayed here in the two bedroom Tettegouche room this last week for two nights. The new owners, Nick & Danielle Junjak are great and very personable. We loved our room and the fact that our kitchen was fully furnished was awesome! The kitchen had a small refrigerator, two burner stove, toaster, microwave, coffee pot with supplied coffee & tea, and a small table with four chairs. All the bedding smelt very fresh and clean and I loved the upgraded soap and lotion in the bathroom, nice touch Danielle! I would recommend the J Gregers Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay on the North Shore at a great price. My wife and I had looked on the Web for about 2 hours trying to find a reasonably priced place to stay on the North Shore and this was by far the best deal we could find. read more

Very quaint. Owners were nice and helpful. The cabins are right on the bike trail that goes along the shore of Lake Superior. There are good places to eat in Two Harbors, which is about a 15 min drive. If you want more of a touristy town, please take the time to go to Grand Marais. The town has gift shops and even a craft brewery. On the website it did say full kitchen and there was no oven and the stove top didn't work. The mini fridge has a freezer, but the freezer didn't have the little door that normal mini fridges have. My family and I brought spaghetti noodles and sauce to eat in for one night and the stove wouldn't even boil water. Call about the cabins before booking reservation. The lodge cabin we were in was the middle one and there were only two windows in the whole space. One in the bedroom facing the lake and one in the bathroom. If you are bringing bikes make sure to pack a tarp or something to cover the bikes because there isn't a sheltered area for them. We had to store them in our truck as well as the cabin when it rained. Our stay was very hot. Normally Lake Superior is cool and the night temperatures got into the 50's, so my family and I weren't expecting air conditioning or anything. But the rooms had so circulation and the two fans barely worked even if they were turned on high. Overall the stay was fine for just sleeping and staying in the evenings, since we were biking during the day. But if your looking for a space to entertain and spend time in I would suggest a bigger cabin. read more

Wonderful! The owners were very kind and helpful in directing us places to visit. Didn't stay the night but did rent bikes from them!

I'll make this short, much like our interaction with our "hosts". We knocked on the office door upon arrival only for it to open to our host Judy barely making eye contact with us and telling her friend that she was on the phone with in an annoyed tone that she had to hang up because she had a check in. She had us enter her home to her little office nook and said, "$128.17" to which we assume she meant the balance needed to be paid right then instead of when we check out like most places. (Umm...alright.) As she is is handing us the credit card back she reminds us check out is at 10 and there is enough fire wood to last us through our stay and that the keys were inside the cabin. I was wrong to have expected a smile or wish to have a pleasant visit. The cabin is small but it was enough for us and have no complaints about the acommodation itself. Just be aware there is only a curtain to separate you and your travel mate when in the bathroom and shower. We had no other contact with the hosts other than the one at check in and then at check out. We read the in-room journal about how wonderful the hosts had been and how everyone enjoyed the pancakes. We weren't ever invited over for pancakes or informed they were an option other than a sticker on the ledge near the window so I'm afraid I can't say how they were. At check out, we knocked on the door to return the key. Judy opened the door and took the key from us, said thank you, and closed the door. There was absolutely no concern for our satisfaction, how we enjoyed ourself...nothing. We definitely will not stay here and will not recommend this property to anyone solely based on the lack of attention and concern for guests the hosts presented. We got the feeling we weren't welcome (perhaps due to our age? race? assumed financial capbilities?) and were treated as a source of revenue, not guests which is what a B&B is supposed to be all about. read more

Absolutely wonderful!! The owners are very friendly and take great care of the property! The rooms are cozy and well decorated! We stayed in the Split Rock room which had a little kitchenette with a coffee maker, sink, stove top, mini fridge, microwave, toaster and utensils and dishes! Property also has a community fire pit and seating area along with great views! Some of the rooms have their own private fire pit also. read more

The beds were very comfortable and it was really nice to have a stove top right in the room. The owners Nick and Dani are very friendly and make you feel at home. This place was great! My boyfriend and I decided to do a North shore retreat, but it was somewhat spontaneous (booked one month in advanced) so lodging options were limited. This was one of the few places that didn't have a two night minimum! Needless to say, we were a little skeptical because from the pictures this place looked really small. However, we were pleasantly surprised, and it exceeded all expectations. We checked in at the office and were greeted by the owners. They were hospitable and friendly, and you could feel that they put a lot of love and effort into making their guests feel like home. All of the rooms are themed, and we stayed in the Gooseberry Falls room. While it was small and quant, it was outfitted with everything we could've needed: tv, dining table, mini fridge, microwave, tea, fresh coffee grounds (!), creamer, sugar, dish cleaning supplies, etc. Hands down, we are definitely staying here again on our next North Shore trip! read more

J Gregers Inn is perfect! Great location, attentive service, the rooms are very clean and have a homey feeling to them and not to mention the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. This was our first trip as a couple together, and we could not have found a better spot! The cabin was much better stocked than we would have ever thought (everything from kindling to a huge pile of towels to DVD's and games, not to mention the cookies waiting for us when we first arrived!), and it's clear that a lot of love went into this place.
