    Cascade River Hike

Such a cute cozy warm inviting outside look. I'd always say we need to try that place. I finally did and the inside doesn't not disappoint. You grab a table, figure out your order then you place the order at the counter. They run the food to your table. It works!! Service was great and super friendly!! Food was terrific! We had an awesome experience!

Pretty delicious food. Nice interior with a rustic touch. They have live music on the weekends. Hot tip you get 10% off if you stay at Cascade lodge or the cabins. Interesting & varied menu. Items like salmon roasted chowder and chicken pot pie. We both got sandwiches that were delicious and the sweet potato fries were very good and plenty of them. The way they have it set up is a little strange so if you haven't been there before you have to figure this out. It is hand written on a sign by the desk, but nobody read science when they first walk in. It's a seat yourself arrangement and then you go up to the front to order. No one comes to your table unless they're bringing you water or your paid for food. As far as how expensive it is , it's on the higher end 20 to 30. Beautiful location and in some spots, you can see the lake across the street.

I honestly don't even know where to start--this place is such a gem. The location is unbeatable. It's right across from Lake Superior. Yes, there's a road to cross, but it's quiet and open--you'll see any car coming. Once you're across, there's a little fire pit, a couple of picnic tables, and stairs that lead right down to the shoreline. We spent so much time just sitting on the rocks and taking it all in. I stayed in the main lodge and it was so charming. The room was spotless and cozy, and the whole building has this welcoming, relaxed vibe. Upstairs are the rooms, and downstairs there's a shared space where you can play games, read, or listen to records. There's even a beautiful old piano and cozy chairs by the window. Right outside the front doors are Adirondack chairs facing the lake--perfect for morning coffee or a slow evening. There's also a restaurant on-site, and the food was super tasty. One night they even had live music, which made it feel extra special. If you're coming from the cities and want a North Shore getaway without going full "camping mode," the main lodge is definitely the way to go. But they've also got adorable cabins--some along the river--a playground for kids, and a community fire pit. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place. I've already recommended it to like 30 people and will definitely be back soon. If you're heading to Lutsen, Cascade Lodge should absolutely be on your list.

Looks good but slightly burnt underneath.

The food is generally very good. Today we had breakfast. I had the eggs benedict with shoulder bacon, two eggs, hollandaise on English muffin. The bottom edges of muffin were slightly burnt and the shoulder bacon was too dark and everything tasted slightly burnt which over powered everything. Next time I will stick with the omelettes. My wife enjoyed her breakfast.

    Buffalo Chicken Man n Cheese

Busy night but the staff handles things well. Husband had the Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese and it was rich and delicious just needed an extra side of buffalo sauce to kick it up a bit and cut the richness of the baked Mac n cheese. I had a Passion Fruit Spritz and the Broiled Walleye dinner. The drink and walleye were fantastic, the rice pilaf and broccolini were not great...

Self seated with lot of character and charm, this spot hits especially if you're able to get a view of the lake! Loaded onion rings are terrific if you are looking for something indulgent and filling. Burgers are also excellent. 10% off if you stay in the lodge.

Different setup from what we remember from years ago. So now you grab a menu at the front when you wake in, find a clean table and when your ready to order you place order at front. We had the reuben with fries, it was ok. Fries were $2.50 extra. Blue cheese burger with fries was ok as well. Not much blue cheese and bacon was not cooked enough. BLTA with chips was average again. Avocado was rock hard, had to pick out. Bacon was fine as were chips. $65 for 3 sandwiches and 1 soda and considering there was no table service, it was overpriced for what it was. Parking also sucks. There is about 8 spots in front, its angle parking and super tight. Also for what its worth, there is no cell service and we were told its because they are in the national park and it blocks service. We had to connect to wifi to make a phone call.

Not so hidden gem. I'm always a bit leery of places that make you "order up front" and take a table number. This place was awesome! The drinks were on point, and came out quickly. The food was completely unexpected and better than some fancy restaurants we've visited. 10/10 and will definitely be back!

Such a cool stop along highway 61! It has the look and feel of a small town family restaurant, and the menu of a hipster restaurant in a big city. The vegan options were a delightful surprise! There really is something for everybody here. Do note that, while delicious, the textures of the Minnesota Wild grain bowl were off-putting, but the mashed potatoes in the fried chicken meal were some of the best I've had in my life.

We've gone up to Lutsen a few times this summer now and Cascade has become one of our must stop staples. Not only does it have longer hrs than most of the places in the area, the food is amazing! Everything we have gotten here has been fantastic & the service is always friendly and courteous. They are always busy but the staff always manage to make each customer feel welcomed & taken care of.

Quiet, great ambiance overlooking Lake Superior, nice background music, delicious, gluten free friendly food/menu. Homemade soups daily from the chef and today's scrumptious soup was kale, spinach, parmesan, (gf). Grain bowl fabulous and topped with a watermelon radish to make it look and taste wonderfully fresh.

The wild rice bowl with salmon is the best thing I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Great atmosphere and staff as well.

They have coffee mugs of locals hung on the walls, vintage photos and news clippings, and incredible northern decor. We came in on a Monday afternoon in fall and ordered: - biscuits and gravy: my husband LOVED this - omelette with hash browns: delicious and crispy I expected bigger portions for the price, so was a bit disappointed in that as we were ready for a filling hearty brunch! The service was funny - our server must have been bored and really wanted to chat us up, which we didn't mind. I'd love to see this place more busy and more folks to know about it! We were the only ones in at that time. They also sell some convenience store items like OTC meds, non perishables, dry goods, etc. They also carry some local products and tourist goods. Come for the ambiance and coffee!
