This is a funny little bakery that has quick and simple sandwiches. Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday and got the Abby Panini, it was out in less than 10 minutes and warm and tasty. Not only does this place have the best sandwiches and baked goods, but they have the kindest employees too. I stopped here today to get myself a sandwich because I was too sad to make myself lunch - I had just had to put my dog down. The gal at the front asked how I was, so I told her where I'd come from. She was so kind. And I was so flustered, I walked out with my sandwich without paying. Immediately I called the store to give them my card - the kind employee answered. She said it was on her, in the hopes I would have a better day. It made me happy cry. What she didn't know is that two weeks before this, I had to put my cat down too. Two pets in two weeks - gone. And this was the nicest gesture I had encountered. It meant so much to me. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity, and making my day just a tiny bit brighter when I was so sad. I moved from California five months ago and discovered this bakery when grocery shopping at Super One next door. I've tried almost all their breads. On their website they have a daily list of what breads they are baking each day. The fresh bread is ready for purchase around 11 am. If you go earlier they may tell you that you have to wait awhile for the bread you want to come out of the oven. My all time favorite is Multi Grain Sourdough because it makes crunchy toast. Delicious! Butterscotch Biscottis are heavenly. Dip them in your coffee to soften them up a bit. Here are the breads I like: Dakota, High Five Fiber , Honey Whole Wheat , Pumpernickel Rye, Cranberry Wild Rice. This is a very high quality bread baking enterprise. I left with the roasted red pepper and gouda soup and half a California Cobb sandwich. It was the right choice, let me tell you! Pumpkin Chip Muffin? THE best. If you are lucky enough to get one of these during the fall season, and better yet fresh out of the oven, be prepared for bliss. As you may be aware, some muffins only have their top crust going for them and lead to a lackluster and sometimes dry interior, but nope, not this one. This muffin looks extremely unassuming, but you dig into this orange delight and the pumpkin flavor and hint of chocolate explode in harmony. The flavors are, from start to finish, equally as amazing. Extremely moist and gooey throughout; you will not be able to get enough. Great Harvest is a very good choice for a quick breakfast. Not a lot on the breakfast menu, but you must try the breakfast panini and some french toast. The panini has a really good chipotle mayo that goes great with the pepeprjack cheese and banana peppers. The french toast is made with their bread and is served with real maple syrup. Portions are a little small, but the prices are low so you can have a few menu items at once. I'm sure to be a regular at this scratch-made bakery cafe! Some of the friendliest service I have experienced, VERY unpretentious; you immediately feel comfortable talking with all of the staff here, and they are quick to welcome you in and offer you samples. Hooray! Anyway, I stopped in for a quick sampling of a few items. I tried a surprise smoothie (I had the waitress mix something to her liking), a maple cookie, and their chili soup of the day (I know, it's a weird combination, but I like food). Everything was absolutely wonderful. The smoothie was obviously fruity and well sized; the maple cookie was soft, moist, and the maple flavor was robust; and the chili had just the right about of kick, and was packed with beef, beans, and vegetables. I can't wait to come back to try sandwiches, panini, and their tempting breakfast menu. Free and hassle-free WiFi is available, the ambiance is quiet, and if you sit by the window there is a view of the parking lot, street, and maybe a little bit of the lake. It's interesting to notice they have some old-school weighing balance scales sitting on the counter by the window where you eat. Obviously good for decor, but I imagine they are perfect for ensuring an accurate division of cookies, muffins, and treats between the people of your party (just to make sure everyone gets an equal share). Lots of selection, daily specials of breads and treats, local coffee, scratch made and wholesome food, and very friendly staff; an all-in-one spot for a quick brunch, lunch, or afternoon pick-me-up. read more

Just went to pick up a couple sandwiches at Great Harvest. The only person wearing a mask was the person taking orders. While waiting for my food I observed that none of the people preparing my food were wearing masks. Additionally, I watched one of the cooks wipe his nose with his ungloved hand and return to preparing food. I have to say the food has been amazing in the past but it's sad to see the conditions under which it is being prepared. I used to go here 2 times a week. I would spent upwards of 75-100$ dollars usd. I always always called early to pre order. Now I've been waiting all month for there Blueberry lemon bread. I call this morning and they tell me I'm not allowed to pre-order anymore. I will not go here anymore. Not only has Great Harvest Bread mastered the art of bread, baked deliciousness (and did I mention the sandwiches?), but this place has EXCEPTIONAL customer service. While I was waiting for a piping hot loaf of sourdough to come out of the oven I got to witness this customer service in action. Excellent way to spend your money! I stop in for a sandwich and coffee whenever possible. The veggie panini is amazing! The bread is crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and it's filled with gooey cheese (not too much), lightly sautéed peppers and onions, egg, and some kind of delicious tomato-y spread. I've had almost every sandwich on the menu, and I gladly vouch for any of them. I'm not a coffee snob, so I don't know how to explain why - but their coffee is delicious! We'll buy a loaf of bread occasionally too - also superb. Biscotti and scones are excellent. The decor is great - lots of nice wood, with interesting carving details. Finally, the guy there - who I assume is the owner - is as nice as can be, and somehow remembers my daughter's and my name, as well as our preferred orders, and always gives us a hearty welcome! We were impressed with the young man running the front counter til this morning! His recommendations were great and he knew the products well. The location seems dated and a bit confused. The location needs a bit of a refresh. I would recommend you order a single pickle...it is great. I had a Garden Veggie with some add-one and my wife had a breakfast sandwich. We have had better at Great Harvest Breads in Missoula, MT and Anchorage. But it was still a 4 out of 5 but did not meet our 5/5 experiences we had on an atmosphere and ambience perspective we had in the aforementioned locations. We try to order a carry out lunch and some delicious bread and pumpkin muffins every 1-2 weeks during the Covid-19 crisis. Food is always fresh and the staff has been so nice! At first we could get quarts of soup from the Soup Market, but it seems to have stopped that option sadly. Wow.. is all I got to say is Wow!!!!! I have never been a bread person and I know why now, I have not been to a place that had such wonderful bread. I hope this place keeps up the standards it has going for them. The staff is courteous and helpful on what they have to offer. The give you nice samples of there goodies. everything I saw was just wonderful and delicious looking, I could have walked out of the store with a lot more than my two loaves of bread. Good thing I got a little will power. We will stopping here AGAIN!!! The sad note: I got to stay away from their cinnamon chip bread, I have had a lot of cinnamon and raisin and cinnamon swirl breads in my lifetime but I have never I mean NEVER had any as good as this. I would highly recommend the cinnamon chip, but be careful you will eat the whole round.. It comes in the traditional loaf and the round we took both of ours in the rounds. ok.. Now lets get to the spinach feta bread... that is most flavorful bread again I have ever had, a little easier to stay away from that one.. but I still have to force myself... we did try their garlic cheese bread, we did not care for that one as much, still a great bread but the cheese and garlic did not seem to come thru like the others or how we would like.. I think they need to step the flavors up in that one. More cheese and more garlic will do the trick. A must place to visit while in Duluth to pick a few goodies...ENJOY read more
