Stopped in on a Saturday around noon. They still had lots of options! The ham and cheese croissant must be popular/ there was only one left! I saw they have frozen pretzels- which is perfect because I didn't want to eat it right now. I got two of those to go. I also got a blueberry danish for my husband- he approved! And two loaves of bread- the cheese curd and the rosemary onion in the one pound option. (They have a two pound and it's huge!) We enjoyed the bread toasted with butter and for avocado toast during the week. They offered to slice the rosemary onion bread but not the cheese curd- there's something about the cheese curd that they said they don't slice it. I can't remember. But it's fine/ we sliced our own. The pecan rolls and the cinnamon rolls looked amazing but I'm more of a savory gal. The shop was super cute. They have a sourdough class coming up. They have coffees and couches. Bathrooms for customers. Some merchandise for sale. They even have a monthly club where you can pick up or have your items delivered to you! Wow! I wish I lived in the area just for this bakery. Amazing amazing service!!! My husband and I were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. We got an enthusiastic run down of the menu and found out all the bread is baked fresh. I had the Duluth latte, which is super sweet but tasty. My husband had the drip coffee which was also really good. We shared their cheese curd sourdough bread and it is so good! You can taste the freshness, and my husband was already making plans to have it with his breakfast tomorrow morning. The ambiance is fun and casual. They have plenty of seating with pillows shaped like bread loaves and macarons. I was definitely eyeballing that pecan caramel cinnamon roll so we may have to venture back sooner than expected. This cozy shop had truly awesome pastries. We went carb crazy to load up for our day of exploration, getting a pecan roll, cinnamon roll, almond croissant, and chocolate almond croissant. Was hunting for any open coffee shop (hopeful for pastry too) on New Year's day and stumbled upon this bakery. They had a huge variety of pastries and breads and I went with a Caramel Pecan Roll and a Ham & Cheese Croissant, both very yummy tho the roll could've easily been shared by one or two more people. I also got a Caramel Latte which I didn't have high hopes for because this place looked like primarily a bakery but I was pleasantly surprised, it was decently good. I will certainly stop here again if I am ever in need of a baked good in Duluth but there were a couple "We can refuse service to anyone" signs that gave a slightly weird vibe to an otherwise warm and friendly looking place. read more

This is an update review. Now they are 5 star! Why? They added the most delicious Minnesota small business fair trade coffee with a new coffee machine & WOW. THE COFFEE IS AS GOOD AS THEIR ACTUALLY BEST BREAD! The ambiance is excellent, the attitude of the staff is Minnesota actually nice! Back to the coffee, I had their Cortado & it was to go, so I don't have a photo of it & I was floored! In the past they did not have coffee even nearly matching the quality of their amazing bread. That's no small feat. They DID IT!!! I had cream added or half & half, whichever is richer. Well, that is THE BEST coffee I have had at a business in the USA. I called & asked them how that happened! They have some new fancy machine + they have a new coffee: Ember's Coffee from Big Lake, MN. Minnesota roasted, collected from fair trade establishments with zero pesticides & certified to be mold free! This is so important for women who are cystic at any age, because the glyphosate & mold & stuff on most all pesticide ridden coffee is especially hard on female hormones! Probably it's hard on all folks hormones but more noticeable for women with cystic issues & feeling the results! So, I am pain & cyst free with this sort of coffee & Duluths best bread takes the cake for best coffee! Well done! read more

At 930 am you would expect fresh pastry. Nope not even close. Rock hard scones, a pumpkin cream cheese muffin that was so rubbery it is inedible. It's all hype and advertising. Not worth paying 5.95 for a scone you cannot eat. Waste of money. read more

This store is located on a Main Street with curbside parking. The people were helpful and friendly. They have a nice selection of croissants and baked goods. I had a strawberry and cheese danish which was delicious and a ham and cheese croissant. The bread here is also amazing. Sooooo good food. I was expecting a little more with a name like that. To be fair, I got a breakfast sandwich and not a loaf of bread, but the sandwich didn't make me want to come back to try more. The croissant sandwich I ordered was fine, basic, I think it had ham, egg, and cheese. So basic, I forgot what was even on it already, but it did what it needed to do. Service was fine, this area also did what it needed to do, not friendly but not unfriendly. You order, pay, then collect your order. I'll likely never be back. read more

I've been to their original location to pick up bread before but had to stop by their new cafe to grab a baguette. It's a very cute cafe with coffee, treats, and cafe sandwiches. They've got a rotating selection of macarons, breads, pastries, and drinks. The staff were super welcoming and quick to go through my order. We visited Duluth's Best Bread based on a trusted friend's recommendation. We totally loved everything about it: coffee was great, pastries were delicious, the bread looked yummy. In fact, we came back the next morning to try more pastries and buy bread to take back home. We tried olive and flex seed breads and both are delicious. A MUST STOP. Everything here is all natural. Our dearest friends recommended this place, so we had to stop in Sunday afternoon and grab treats before we made our way back to Minneapolis. We were pressed for time, but we figured out a way to divide and conquer so that I could stand in line and wait for this amazing bread. I had to wait about 15 minutes, but 100% WORTH WAITING FOR. There were lots of cute signs to ogle while I waited. And honestly, I needed at least five minutes to make up my mind what to buy. The employee was so sweet and patient answering all of my questions while I waited. Unfortunately, when I got up there, they were out of about half the things I wanted (lesson learned, show up early!!), so I didn't get to try the baguettes, caramel pecan rolls, orios or the strawberry rhubarb pop tarts. But I did get the blueberry pop tarts and they were AMAZING. So flaky! Perfect amount of filling and frosting. The chocolate almond croissant and a Crunchy Munchkin cookie (shortbread cookie with caramelly granola on top and a lemon glaze!) were also great. And we took home a loaf of cheese curd bread and a 2 pound loaf of the rosemary onion bread, both were delicious and lasted several days on the counter (pro tip, put it in the freezer if you have it longer than three days).
