I've been coming to Amity for almost a decade, and I've always loved the warm atmosphere and really delicious scones. This is also a place that takes a brave stand for others and, as I experienced today, has real heart. I met a friend for coffee there this morning, and just now saw a stranger at my back door. When I asked if I could help him, he held up my purse and said I had forgotten it at the cafe. He actually *drove to my house* to drop it off. I'm so touched and grateful, and will (obviously!) continue to be a loyal customer. read more

I am a sucker for a cardamom latte...and this one is one of the best I've ever had. Also had a delicious scone. Sat in here for a while and read my book and it's a great place to sit and people watch. The barista was kind and gave me drink suggestions. read more

My friend and I stopped here on our way back to the cities. We were in need of some darn good coffee and we're so glad we stopped here! Parking can be difficult because it's on a busy street but there is street parking available. We got lucky and got a spot right in front of the shop. It's a cute little coffee shop with tables and couches. Aside from coffee, there are some bakery goodies as well. Hung on the wall are local art pieces that's available for purchase. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The service was wonderful! Everyone was so welcoming and nice. I ordered a hazelnut latte w/ almond milk and sure enough...it was DELICIOUS!! Just enough sweetness and the perfect amount of caffeine kick. We couldn't stop talking about how good our lattes were. I'm definitely making Amity Coffee a stop whenever I'm up north now. read more

The coffee is good, quick service. Lots of people there but lots of seating and friendly place to hang out.

I got a soy hazelnut latte. SO DELICIOUS!! I loved the flavor and the richness it felt nice and thick and not fake tasting like starbies. I hadn't been to an amazing coffee place since Alaska and I had lost hope until I went to Duluth for a weekend get away. Amazing. I wish there was more seating is my only thing but I loved it, the coffee and the atmosphere. 10/10 read more

I hate going to chain coffee shops, thus we always look for a local hippie hole. I flipped through reviews and we ended up here. Sign for bent paddle stout cupcakes on entering. I shove my way to the counter (not really, but I thought about it)... Sold out of the cupcakes, ouch. I can't dock stars for something being too good to keep in stock though. We ended up with a couple of lattes and skipped the display case. Friendly workers and a cute shop, clearly with a sense of humor. Both lattes were scorching hot and fabulous. Mixed flavors to get the latte we wanted without missing a beat. All in all, a good find. We will pop in whenever we pass through town. read more

Probably one of the best little coffee shops in Duluth, Amity Coffee has virtually everything you'd expect in a bit of java shop: local art, seating variety cozy charm, decent pastry and of course consistently selected coffee. Serving Duluth Coffee Company blends, it captures the Lakeside feel without becoming overbearing. You don't go to a place like this in a hurry. Among coffee shops this is probably one of the most chill purchase-to-delivery spots I've experienced, even rivaling some west coast equivalents. They will pour a cup straight up fast enough if you don't want a mixed drink, so if Amity is too slow for you, it's all your fault. And the vibe Amity is selling is for you to chill the eff out and enjoy some pleasant Duluth atmosphere. If you find yourself heading up the shore, a slight detour for Amity isn't a wrong way to start a beautiful day. The four stars reflect the amity you'll feel at Amity Coffee. read more

They serve local coffees and local baked goods - which are always delicious. I snagged a scone from At Sara's Table and an almond latte. What a perfect way to start off my Saturday! The last time my boyfriend and I were in town from the twin cities area, we visited Duluth Coffee Company. This time we wanted to try something new so we navigated through Yelp which brought us to Amity! I like to order house specialities - like a signature drink, rather than a latte with one of their many flavor options. I asked the barista for a recommendation, stating that it was my first time in. He recommended the mocha, a flavored latte, or a miel with the addition of lavender. I went with the mocha because I already had my eye on it and it was the first one he listed. The vibe was chill, selection of food, coffee and alcoholic beverages great, but this was one mediocre mocha. Certainly not BAD, but definitely not worth driving out of our way from Canal Park to try. I prefer a traditional Starbucks mocha read more

A nice building with a chill atmosphere, I could hang out here for hours... if the coffee was better. I like Duluth coffee company, but the mocha I ordered was WAY too sweet. This place is super cute and fun! The coffee selection isn't huge, but it's big enough that it should be able to accommodate everyone's tastes! They also have ice cream and shakes which was a nice surprise. Seating is limited, but the small coffee shop is part of the atmosphere. They also have alcohol if that's something you're looking for. Service was nice and the coffee was VERY good. Favorite part was they serve the coffee in coffee mugs! I will definitely be back. read more

Good coffee and atmosphere. Lots of local art on the walls which brings a cozy ambiance. Every time I've been inside there has always been good coffee house music playing which adds that the overall ambiance. They also serve beer on tap which is nice. Location is in the Lakeside district away from the busy city. Four stars because they close at 5pm on Monday and Tuesday when everyone is getting off work and wanting coffee. read more

We found this coffee shop when we were coming home from skiing a Lutsen and now it is a regular stop for us. It is a cute clean coffee shop and they know how to make a good latte. This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Duluth. The coffee and food is always really good and their baked goods are fresh. The employees are extremely nice and very good at remembering regulars and their orders. Parking is easy to find (there's street parking on both sides of the street and a parking lot). This is a great place to go to do work/homework as well as have a chat with friends. They have quick wifi, an incredibly chill and welcoming atmosphere, and just enough seating for a cozy, but not suffocating, feel. This is a great place to go before school/work because the lines are typically short and orders are made fairly quickly. read more

Probably the worst service I've had at a coffee shop. The girl behind the counter with short blue hair somehow managed to take my order without saying an actual word. Not a greeting or a thanks etc. when asked a question she just shook her head and didn't say anything; her co worker had to answer for her once he realized she wasn't going to elaborate. this is the second time I've received rude service from her. It's really too bad because I enjoy the establishment and the encounters I've had with the other workers have all been positive.
