And for me, part of the experience is slowing down to enjoy the moment. No small part of that enjoyment comes from drinking my coffee in a proper vessel. It could be a ceramic coffee cup, or a bowl, or a heavy glass, or a demitasse cup on a saucer. Different shops can have their own style, but if you refuse to serve a well crafted drink in something other than paper, that's an issue for me. Especially when the proper cups are right there! I see them. And I get that washing dishes can be a pain in the neck, but coffee shops can charge what they charge for beans and water because they are providing an experience. Sorry. Thanks for hearing me out. Beyond that, this place is lovely. The people are friendly, which should not be a surprise in Minnesota. The cortado was good, but hard to fully appreciate or evaluate in its sad little paper cup. My family was happy with their drinks. And the outdoor space is simply magical. This is a tucked away little modern coffee oasis in a remote part of Minnesota and I'm very glad it exists and can provide me and others the energy boost needed after hours of nature walks in the area.

They may have used the syrup as well the powder but I could not taste it as the drink itself was so more tart than sweet. This combo of syrups is very sweet which is why I ordered it. As for the apple pie comparison, Betty's version was more cohesive a crust and easier to eat, but it was also surprisingly bland. The thicker crust at the edge was dry, too.
