My sisters and I stopped for lunch. Great sandwich on this yummy cranberry & wild rice bread. Wonderful small cake desserts.

Went a second and third time while staying in the area. Just as good as the first experience, and the ice cream is fantastic as well.

After a day of hiking to Goose Berry Falls and Cove Point, one can build up quite the appetite. We…read morewere deciding if we should go back to Duluth or keep going north. We found Cove Point, it looked quaint, so we thought, why not? Walking in, we were greeted by a gentleman who was not entirely personable, but oh well. We were seated promptly and had an opportunity to review the menu. The menu itself was limited to some degree, which was fine. There were several pizza options, salads, and sandwiches available. They have a full bar, local beers, and several non-alcoholic beverages. The one thing that really stood out to me was the prices. My wife had a salad wrap, and I had their standard burger. Both were $17.00?? This far up north?? The food was fine, certainly nothing to write home about, but I can't help but feel that both those entrees were a wee bit overpriced.

With not many options in the area, we stopped at Cove Point Crossing with pretty low expectations…read more However, I was pleasantly surprised but how much I liked this little bar and grill. It is small, not many tables but wasn't terribly busy on a Thursday at lunch. It has a north woods feel with a cute mural covering one wall. We started with totchos which were fine and a local tap beer. My husband got the wings, they were crispy and tasty, he was pleasantly surprised. There were only six wings in the order so the price at $16 was rather steep but expected being on the north shore. I ordered the turkey focaccia sandwich. It was so good! The bread was fresh and crispy and the turkey was thick cut turkey slabs with fresh sprouts and aioli. It was a big sandwich but I ate it all because it was wonderful. I upgraded to onion rings, they were average.

The portions here are glorious! We had spent most of the day driving and had forgotten to grab food…read moreearlier in the day, so this was our first real meal (minus the snacks!). There were lots of contenders I wanted to go for (eg the teriyaki barbecue mushroom Swiss burger!), but I ended up deciding on the Chuck Norris + I definitely wasn't disappointed! (It is a lotttttt of food.) Aside from being a burger, it was also topped with ground beef and onion rings + we were able to choose different flavors of bbq sauce too! (My memory is failing me a little and I should've written this review sooner, but I believe there was their house bbq, apple, and blackberry!) Might have been blueberry? It was delicious + we def ended up having leftovers for the next day. We got fried mushrooms and cheese curds to split too! The decor here is fun + if you're looking for something other than a burger, they do serve breakfast all day + also have salads and sandwiches too! Service was friendly and pretty quick!

The cheese curds were good, but the ranch was definitely homemade, and the fries were good too. Overall decent, but wouldn't say it's the best place to go on the north shore.
