My Steak cheese French with fries

For being at Grandma's on a Tuesday at 3:30 in the afternoon we still waited for 30 minutes to be seated. Our server got to us right away and took our order. I go there for one reason so I knew what I wanted. The Steak Cheese French Sandwich. Unfortunately because of the time of day (I think) were understaffed. The servers were really good, just overwhelmed the staff. 5 stars Management 4 stars the place was really busy. Food Always great.

Grandma's was such a good find. We had a large group of 12 that they were able to seat in about 20 minutes which was great. Service was also super great, especially for such a large group. A large food and beer menu, it was difficult to choose. I had the chicken and wild rice soup, which 10/10 would recommend. I also had the chicken pot pie, which was also so great. After dinner we went to the upstairs bar and they have such a cute patio where you can view the bridge go up and down.

Oh man, that Chicken Tetrazzini with Wild Rice was the bomb!! The location of this place is great, despite the touristy surroundings. Good food and great service

Daughter and just had dinner here. She got the kids menu mac n cheese and LOVED it. I've been here a few time and got the chicken tetrazzini, best I've ever had here. Service very friendly and attentive. Great experience.

We dined in on a Saturday evening with a large group. While we were waiting for our table, we browsed the front section of the establishment - you could play claw machines, browse and purchase various knick-knacks, or even buy some fudge. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. Our server did a good job taking care of us. I ordered the sesame salmon bowl, which was very delicious (although I thought the breadstick was an odd touch - the dish seems more cohesive without it). Overall, I enjoyed my meal here!

We went to Grandmas today for a late lunch early dinner. We did have to wait about a half hour to get a seat. It seems to always be busy. We each got the famous Steak Cheese French sandwich. I got mine with a salad and my husband got the fries. It was very good and large. We probably should have split one but....oh well

Came to Grandma's with a party of 12 and got sat within 20 minutes. Service was quick and handled our big group very well. My food was good but the chicken was a bit overdone. Overall a good experience but I would try another dish.

Grandma's is a Duluth institution, with a sizable menu, generous portion sizes, and prices to match. The inside decor is a throw back to the early advertising era with large metal signs hanging everywhere. It is comfortable and clean with a ton of seating areas. The service is great, we were seated promptly and our server was both lovely and present. The food is wonderful tasting comfort food that will stick to your ribs. The menu has plenty of options to please everyone as well. The prices are high but not incredibly crazy either.

On a Tuesday mid-afternoon, promptly seated in a clean & comfy booth. Such a welcoming place. Lots of antique stuff to look at. Keely waited on us, very nice, attentive lady. I had a hazy IPA , cup of Chicken with wild rice soup, golden onion rings and the beef & shrooms appetizer as my entree. PERFECTION. Just right, thx!

Came around 6:00 and it was a super short wait! This restaurant was great and the service was amazing! The food was worth the slightly steep price-I had the salmon tariaki bowl and it was great! Lots of fun signs and decor too! For sure a must-stop if you are visiting Duluth because it is so iconic.

Went with several friends and really enjoyed our time. Lots to look at in dining area/bar. Old signs, lights, mounts, etc. We all enjoyed our food- 3 of us did fish and chips. All good! One a walleye sandwich that was tasty and big! The drinks were not mixed well and we even sent one back that was completely wrong. Fries are great! As are the handmade candies in front!

Wild Chicken Salad with fresh pineapple, cantaloupe and grapes. Very delicious wild rice toast

I had been thousands of miles from Duluth in the desert for years, so wanted to eat here upon my return. Wonderful service at the bar suited me very well. Chicken Wild Rice salad with the exceptional fresh pineapple, cantaloupe and grapes along with the best wild rice toast I ever ate made me super happy and feel healthfully nourished. The atmosphere was very comforting because I have been homesick and used to come here often, so I was happy to be back in memorable surroundings.

The chicken pot pie was extremely salty, and the salmon was over-seasoned as well. Aside from the food issues, the service was okay.

Overheard a couple of people be dissatisfied with their drink ($6.50 for quick pour on a White Russian). Had one cider in a tall boy from the twin cities for $7. Wife also had a flat cola. It was busy, in the setting of one bartender. She was nice. Doesn't really provide table service, moreso going to the bar to order and pick stuff up. There's a menu online. This was NOT what we saw when we showed up. They had a burger, fish and chips, pulled pork sliders, Caesar wrap, and appetizers. Based on the online menu and the outdoor patio, we were expecting more of a pub. Wisconsin cheese curds were okay.... didn't find much nostalgia from my Wisconsin childhood; some were more breading than cheese. The sauce with them were good though! Tater kegs better than expected. Chicken Caesar Wrap had some pretty dang tasty chips from whatever bag they came. The ratios were high in lettuce, less so of chicken and Parmesan

Honestly, they've been there so much for me in the past (when no one else was there, they were) that any one of them could ask me to help them move a heavy ass hot tub, and I would in a heartbeat. The owner, Cade, is THE shit. Just look for the tall guy with the sweet hair and badass button up shirt and you'll know him when you see him. Best part is because he's so cool, all the people he hires to work for him are cool, thus the people that frequent there are cool, so by going there YOU are COOL by association. It's like one big cool club and everyone's invited. The amount of romances and babies that have resulted from ACES ON FIRST is probably what keeps the population of Duluth above the 2.1 children-per-woman needed to prevent a society's extinction. Do yourself a favor and pop in Aces. I know that when I die and I enter the white light, on the other side I'm going to emerge into Aces. Heaven IS a place on Earth...and it's called ACES.
