    Grilled cheese with ham!
    Chris E.

If you want to have a quick lunchie (small beer) Amazing bowl of chili (with smoked meat from OMC) or a simple but perfect grilled cheese with ham. Corktown is your place. This classic spot which has moved in recent years, has a lot of cool heritage hence the name.... From the company that owns the grill, the food the service is 10 out of 10. This is a must stop every time going through Duluth if you want to sit down and have a meal and a beer or if you want to get food to go. You will not be dissatisfied. With their new spot, it's good for bigger groups, small groups and even a little bar if you're just eating by yourself! Overall, one of my favorite places to eat in Duluth and the quality is the reason why I come back again and again!!

We got takeout, but definitely a sit down kind of place. Staff was super nice and helpful and the order was ready really fast. I had the spicy dill fried chicken sandwich and adored it. Tough to eat in the car but worth it.

Wonderful sandwich shop in Duluth! We were trying to get our usual northern waters smokehouse fix as we drove through but it was too busy. Tried this place out and was not disappointed! Prices are pretty comparable and the sandwiches are pretty on par if we're to compare the two. We ate outside and they have a nice patio section we could bring our pets to and enjoy our food. Would swing by again. If in the area and were in the same situation.

Waitress was joyful as well as helpful. It was our first time eating there and she helped me make a good choice "the meat your match" The restaurant it self has an old school feel but bright and chipper. Next time I'm in the area definitely hitting this up again!

Reuben bowl that just happens to be low-carb

We haven't been to the new location since it moved, and we decided to check it out. So glad we did. We both went with variations of the Reuben; the regular and the angry Reuben. Both were spectacular! For side dishes, I went with the brussel sprouts, which were superb. Usually I really like the sprouts at Burger Paradox, but I actually enjoyed these more. The peppers on top offered a welcome little flair, as well as a nice little pop of heat. Less saucy/oily than the Korean sprouts served at the sister establishments, which I still love. Hubby got the cole slaw, and I sampled it and wow! I've gotta figure out that recipe! So delicious. Prices are like anywhere else in town. Service was great! Probably the best we've had in a long time. Thanks Stephanie & Corktown! We'll definitely be back.

So far, I have tried the corn ribs, walleye sandwich, and Thai curry bowl. Of these three, the walleye sandwich is my favorite.

French fries are delicious. We also got the hummus platter - assuming fresh veggies. But our veggies were cooked - not as good.

Yum- unique sandwiches. Large portions- great for splitting. Great mocktails. This is a must on our Duluth list of places to eat.

Moreover, I hope the denizens of the Duluth area support this establishment because, as much as I enjoy OMC, Grandma's Canal Park Brewing, this kind of restaurant is needed here. The impetus for the above statement revolves around the absence of chef-driven and curated menus that capitalize on locality, creativity, and seasonality. This restaurant is located just on the other side of I-35. Smack-dab on Superior Street, next to North Shore Tattoo. Entering the establishment, you will see a simple and modestly adorned restaurant that is warm, inviting, and adequately lit. The menu is seasonal and robust with wonderful creations. Think of this as a Mediterranean tapas restaurant with a couple of larger entree-sized sharables. Everything we had was an incredible experience of contrasting flavours and textures. Here is what we had 1. Trio of Dips: You should get this so you don't miss out on the experience of each of these. It is hard to pick a favorite, but the Red Pepper Walnut was incredible. The citrus compote livened up this. The Labneh was quite lovely. More moisture should have been removed, but the selection of herbs atop of the labneh made this pop. The hummus was enjoyable, and had a thicker consistency than I usually have, but it was pretty good. 2. Seared Halloumi - Who doesn't like fried cheese?? The ouzo onions were a terrific addition. Get this one for sure. The hummus was enjoyable, and had a thicker consistency than I usually have, but it was pretty good. 3. Pickled and Stuffed Chard - This was a fun twist on dolmades, and I enjoyed this one. I considered this my salad/vegetable intake for the day :) 4. Braised Rabbit - This was the only disappointment of the whole evening. The leg was flavorful, but it was sooo dry, and I regret not getting the pork. The table next to us got the port, and I was jealous. 5. (Desert )Olive Oil Cake - I was full at this point, but ordered it anyway. It was awesome. You've come this far, order it and thank me later. I really hope the folks of Duluth appreciate this gem in your city, and please support this restaurant.

I started with the Tempura Fried Cauliflower appetizer, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night! You can choose between sambal aioli or crabapple BBQ sauce -- I had the aioli drizzled on top and the crabapple sauce on the side, and it was amazing. I'm not usually into autumn spice flavors, but the crabapple sauce was subtle, slightly smoky, and paired beautifully with the crispy cauliflower. For my entrée, I had the Coconut Curry Bowl. It was flavorful and hearty, though a bit strong and salty for my personal taste. They also offer a kids' menu with generous portions (I've included a photo for reference -- grilled chicken, fries, and veggies). Overall, great vibes, friendly service, and a wonderful cause. We loved supporting a non-profit restaurant dedicated to the arts and community development!

Honestly, they've been there so much for me in the past (when no one else was there, they were) that any one of them could ask me to help them move a heavy ass hot tub, and I would in a heartbeat. The owner, Cade, is THE shit. Just look for the tall guy with the sweet hair and badass button up shirt and you'll know him when you see him. Best part is because he's so cool, all the people he hires to work for him are cool, thus the people that frequent there are cool, so by going there YOU are COOL by association. It's like one big cool club and everyone's invited. The amount of romances and babies that have resulted from ACES ON FIRST is probably what keeps the population of Duluth above the 2.1 children-per-woman needed to prevent a society's extinction. Do yourself a favor and pop in Aces. I know that when I die and I enter the white light, on the other side I'm going to emerge into Aces. Heaven IS a place on Earth...and it's called ACES.
