A friend recommended this as a place to stop for lunch in Duluth. It was an excellent choice. We started with bloody Mary's. My only regret is that I did not tell him to make it spicy. Do that otherwise we'll be a little mild. They have an abundant selection of vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian items as well as meat items. I had a super tasty smoked salmon bowl. read more

We haven't been to the new location since it moved, and we decided to check it out. So glad we did. We both went with variations of the Reuben; the regular and the angry Reuben. Both were spectacular! For side dishes, I went with the brussel sprouts, which were superb. Usually I really like the sprouts at Burger Paradox, but I actually enjoyed these more. The peppers on top offered a welcome little flair, as well as a nice little pop of heat. Less saucy/oily than the Korean sprouts served at the sister establishments, which I still love. Hubby got the cole slaw, and I sampled it and wow! I've gotta figure out that recipe! So delicious. Prices are like anywhere else in town. Service was great! Stopped in after a weekend of camping! Got food to go as we had our dogs with but ate on the patio. I got the dill pickle sandwich and it was everything I needed! When I'm back in town I'll be coming back for that! The staff were very kind and helpful with letting us have a seat with our dogs outside (not sure if dogs are usually allowed). In Duluth for work, I came across this place on a Monday evening. The place was clean with cabin-like decor. The bartender suggested their special of two double smash burgers and two pints for $25. I've paid $25 for an old-fashioned in a fancy hotel bar, so I was amazed by the deal. They were excellent! So much so that I ordered the same burger on Tuesday to go without the deal. - I had a billing issue caused by Yelp! sending the order through twice, and the GM on site was very helpful in getting one of them voided and credited. - Great burgers, beer, and service is a win in my book, and that Monday deal cannot be beat! read more

Pretty disappointed. Was excited to try the "Bang Bang" chicken sandwich. Very expensive but don't mind if its good. Ends up the "Bang Bang Sauce" (which I had never had) was mostly Mayonnaise. And the whole entree was slathered in it. I am one of the unfortunate % of people who find mayo disgusting. It made the whole thing inedible. Wish they would say what has mayonnaise on the menu. Also put a pickle with the fries (again, no pickle mentioned on the menu), which made what might have been otherwise great fries taste like pickles. Oh and the "paprika sauce" that came with the fries? Also appears to be mostly mayonnaise. If a restaurant requires covering everything in mayonnaise (without mentioning that in the menu) and slopping pickles on everything... the food probably isn't that good. Won't be coming back. $25 I'll never see again. Corktown, update your online menu and let people know what to expect. read more

We were driving back to the cities from a long camping weekend at the north shore and wanted a nice lunch that we didn't have to make ourselves. Cork deli was recommended by a friend, so we stopped here on a Sunday at eleven when they opened. From the name 'deli' and the menu items I sorta expected it to be a quick in-and-out place, but to my surprise, it was a sit-down restaurant with a full bar. The menu was a little odd and I felt like they were trying too hard on some of the items. It's a sandwich shop but also has some "hip" starters like a hummus plate and Thai tofu strips and rice bowls. I was ready for a Bloody Mary but was quite disappointed to find out the Bloody Mary mix is Zing-Zang. I would expect this place that prizes in locally sourced foods and smoked meats that they would have their own mix or something local. The one thing that made it special was the delicious pastrami topper. That still doesn't make the whole Bloody Mary drink any better. Also, had to get a beer back separately. For sandwiches we tried the Cozy pig and the Philadelphia phenomenon. I really enjoyed the cozy pig sandwich! Wonderful flavors with the apple chutney and garlic aioli. Maybe a little too much of the sauce though as it overpowered any taste of the meats. I just wanted a little bit more of the ham/Porchetta flavors but i would get it again! The Philadelphia phenomenon was anticlimactic. I expected much more flavor, especially with the au jus. And again, the horseradish aioli overpowered anything else in the sandwich. I wanna taste the prized delicious meats that they are known for! I thought prices were fair and service was just fine. Overall, I'm still up in the air about it. Last weekend was a girl's day trip to Duluth. I'm not super familiar with the area so I just followed along for where we ate and drank at. So glad we drove to Corktown Deli for lunch. This will now be a must stop whenever I visit the area again. Ordering was quick and easy. It took about 15+ minutes to get our to-go (cider house hopping) order. I ordered the Chipolte Turknado. We went here with our my in-laws. Husband and I had the double dipper (good) and club (excellent) sandwiches. Folks had the BLT and hot turkey sandwich which neither of them finished. All the sandwiches were ooey, gooey and yummy. If you want a basic sandwich, this place is likely not for you, but if you want something a little different, I highly recommend. I had to run to the post office and saw Corktown Deli nearby. I had heard good things but had never eaten here. I went inside and placed a to-go order at the bar. The bartender was friendly and conversational while I waited. I ordered the hummus plate and the Ricky Bobby. The sandwich was delicious but the hummus plate blew me away. I don't know how they prepare and season their pita but magic is surely involved. I will keep coming back for that! If you love pastrami sandwiches, you MUST try the pastrami here! --------------------------------------------- This was our first time trying Corktown Deli and Brews. We came here based on the suggestion of the co-owner of OMC across the street. My wife and I split the 3/4# size of the Butcher on Rye (Brined and Smoked Pastrami on Toasted Rye with House Mustard. My stepson ordered the Pastrami Reuben for himself and the Kids Grilled Cheese for his 2-year old. I also ordered a cup of tomato soup. I felt that the Pastrami itself was "The Best I've Ever Had" - and I've eaten it all over the US. The smokiness really came through, adding to the complexity of the flavor. As for my Butcher on Rye sandwich, I think I could have eaten all 3/4 pounds of it. It was that good! My son said his Reuben was among the best he's had. My grand daughter enjoyed the kid's grilled cheese. The only con on our order for me was the Tomato Bisque. Wow was it thick. For me, it was like eating a super rich and thick tomato sauce. Love this spot for a more low key chance to get OMC meats and other awesome sandwiches!! The craft beer lunch deal is also unbeatable! I tried the Fire of the Phoenix pulled chicken sandwich... Be warned, it is HOT! I love spice, and I was still surprised. Honestly, I'd still probably order it again with extra cole slaw though because it was great once I found a way to handle the heat! I was with a few friends and their orders were incredible so was to brief them, too: -We got two racks of ribs and tried ALL the sauces. Everyone had their own favorite, which I take to believe they were all great! I was partial to the bent paddle barbecue though -A friend also got the Jammin Salmon, and it looked incredible! Great options! I've tried the Double Dipper, King of Dill, Rueben bowl, Chef Salad, and Reuben so far. All are really great but the Double Dipper is by far the best steak sammy in all of Duluth! The au jus makes it perfect. Highly recommend! If you can find a place to sit down and eat, you are in luck because the staff and service is fantastic, but if not, take it to go and you won't be disappointed!
