We've always ordered their Old Fashioned, so tonight was no exception. I wasn't too fond of the bourbon used but the drink was well made and was on a nice big ice cube. The vibe here is "speakeasy" in my opinion. Each time we've been here, there's only one person working and he stays busy. But he is very efficient, so we've never waited long for our drinks. One room here has a small stage and PA setup. We've never been here when they had entertainment. But they always have music on in the background for ambiance. I've never had any food, but I've heard it's pretty delicious. I find it odd that there is a fish tank in this bar, but that is what makes it pretty charming. I'm giving it a 5 star because I've never left without having fun or spending more than $25 (thanks to the old friends buying me drinks). Even still, I'd prefer to come in here than go down to Grandma's on the weekend. The crowd is usually a mix, but most of the people are my parents age, and it's fun to rock out to live music with everyone who doesn't care about all that and just are lookin to have some fun.

That shift in tone explains why some longtime workers and patrons have started choosing to go elsewhere. If you're looking for a spotlight on the bartender who's trying a little too hard to be edgy, this bar might be for you. If you're looking for a relaxed place to eat and play bingo, it would take some changes from ownership to get back to that.

It's a type of cocktail bar that definitely seems like it belongs in LA or NYC. It's a small spot, but there is about a 10 person bar, couches and lounge seating inside and then there are some tables out on the smaller back patio. It's also located above a very cool boutique outdoor store and there is a hostel located in the same building that partners to do boundary water trips, which is so fun. The cocktails are all unique, come in fun cups, and there is a large selection of items - so something for everybody. It's fun to watch the bartender make all the various craft cocktails and it keeps everything interactive and fun. I've tried a few different cocktails as I like to get something different each time and they always hit. We all enjoyed our drinks and sitting on the cozy couches, relaxing, and taking our time chatting. We ordered the stop and smell the flowers (it had chartreuse in it, which is very hard to come by in this day and after speaking with the bartender, he said that they have actually two bottles at a time each month, which is very impressive!), zero Italian spritz, and the jungle bird.

Session via the sidewalks (sprint/walk) towards the sports bar (which had good ratings, and no complaints of rudeness-which automatically nulifes the consideration of even considering patronizing am establishment). I arrived and was immediately served, and got an local oat based IPA. I really don't care for alcohol, this being the last drink since Thanksgiving, but it went down smooth enough, and proved a nice elixir for the return H.I.I.T. session. There were at least five boxes with moving images of sports contestants-each one with a different contest, (including slippery puck, African handball, and baseball) which was nice, as sometimes sports bars just show one contest. A Fantastic Transformation and a Great Addition to Superior…read more Having been to the building when it was Shorty's, I have to say the transformation into Mazi is absolutely incredible. From the moment we pulled up, it was obvious how much work went into the renovation. The parking lot was completely redone, and the entire exterior looked fresh and inviting. Once inside, we were really blown away by the decor. The tables and chairs were comfortable and stylish, the bar area looked great, and there was even a nice lounge area. The bathrooms were also very well done. Overall, they did an exceptional job completely refurbishing the building and turning it into a beautiful restaurant. There were six of us celebrating a birthday, and we started with a couple of appetizers. The smoked olives were very well received, and the bone marrow was excellent. Our waiter also recommended getting some additional bread to go with the bone marrow, which turned out to be a great suggestion. Our young waiter was fantastic throughout the evening--very attentive and helpful, although unfortunately I can't remember his name. For dinner, three of us ordered the fish and chips, one had the mussels, one ordered the New York strip, and I had the chicken and waffles. The fish and chips were a huge hit. There were jalapeño bits and a barbecue-style sauce that gave the dish a nice combination of sweetness with just a little bit of heat. It was a generous portion, and I was definitely full when I finished. The New York strip was also very well received, and the mussels were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The only minor criticism was that the broth for the mussels seemed a little on the salty side. Otherwise, they were excellent. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We ordered the crème brûlée, chocolate mousse cake, and cheesecake. All three were phenomenal. In fact, we couldn't even agree on which one was our favorite--which is a pretty good problem to have! Overall, Mazi is a fantastic addition to the Twin Ports dining scene. The transformation from Shorty's is remarkable, the atmosphere is beautiful, the portions are generous, and the food was excellent. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating this restaurant. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending Mazi to others looking for a great place to eat in Superior.

I had their cashew queso bowl, which includes seasoned black beans, potato, onion, green pepper, roasted garlic salsa, pickled onion and microgreens all on top of the cashew queso. My husband had the breakfast burrito which is a flour tortilla filled with sausage, egg, seasoned potatoes, mild cheddar cheese and roasted garlic salsa.
