Visited Bali Asian Cuisine in Duluth today. When we arrived around 4:30 on a Saturday, the dining room was nearly empty, but by the time we left it was completely full. I had the Bali Margarita, which has a solid kick (they can make it milder upon request). My husband ordered an Old Fashioned. We both enjoyed our drinks. We shared the Spicy Peanut Wings to start, and they were easily the highlight of the meal--they were perfectly crispy and saucy. For mains, my husband ordered the Nasi Mawut. It wasn't bad, but it lacked flavor. I ordered the Bali Roll and the Cinco de Mayo Roll. Both were excellent--large rolls with fresh-tasting fish. Even my husband, who's not big on sushi, really liked them. Service was friendly and the dining room was comfortable. We'll likely try other spots nearby before returning, but we'd consider coming back for the sushi and wings. read more

Visited 9/26/25. Umm okay there's a new hot spot in West Duluth! This place was BUSY on a Friday night but we got in between 20-40 minutes and explored west Duluth while waiting. So worth the wait though and when we sat down to eat we immediately got fried potstickers. I also got the pea flower lemonade drink which was delicious and refreshing. The potstickers were the perfect small bite to tide us over before eating and the sauce was delicious. For dinner I got the 50/50 combo of fried rice and noodles. Honestly I can never decide between these two so it was like all my dreams came true. So flavorful and honestly I could barely stop eating. Had dinner at the bar. While the food was decent, Bali mgmt should train their bartending staff that 1. They are there to serve, meaning when food comes make sure diners have chops sticks, forks etc before walking away. We shouldn't have to ask for them as our food sits there. 2. That their behavior matters and they shouldn't act frenzied and stressed, rushing around when they have a few drinks to make. 3. Check up on your diners, ask if they need anything, clear empty plates when finished. And bring check in a timely manner. 4. stop acting like they are in a rush to get out of there. 5. My wife and I were delighted to happen upon some excellent Balinese food in Duluth! Having traveled to Bali recently both the flavors and the execution brought us right back to that lovely island! If you like spicy, ask for sambal and you will be greeted with a a rich roasted pepper sauce that warms you to the core. Tried to eat here today and was looking forward to it. We were seated right away, it was not busy and then we sat for over fifteen minutes with nothing. No greeting, no waters, zero service. We finally asked someone at the bar who was in charge of our section and was told they don't have assigned tables. No apologies, no one came over. I've had this place on my list for a while, so was happy to take it off on 9/29/24 at 2:30pm. Because of the time, there were not many in the restaurant, so our service was quick. I'm not sure how it differs at peak hours. Our server was friendly and happy to recommend dishes for us first-time visitors. My friend and I went for the yellow curry (called mama mus on the menu) and a pork belly bowl, both were generous portions, which I was glad as it was a bit expensive at $15 and $20 respectively. The spice level of the curry was satisfactory and the pork belly had a great texture and I love the addition of the crunchy salad and wonton crisps. I was in Duluth for the first time with my daughter and she found Bali Asian Cuisine for us to have dinner our first night there. I'm Vegan , she is not. This place was so great. It's beautiful , was obviously popular with the locals, the staff were so friendly and the food/drink menus were fantastic! I was able to order a couple of things vegan right off the menu and when I asked about a particular entree the bartender went back and confirmed it could be made vegan with the chef. Did I mention it was a packed house , so we had full service at the bar opposed to waiting for a table? I'm so glad we did. The drinks were fire! I could see this place thriving in the Bay Area (which is hard for even the best in the Bay!). The chef came out and served my dish (Cap Cay) and it was not only beautifully fresh and filling, it was delicious. So far Bali Asian Cuisine has been my favorite part of Minnesota . So glad we stopped in here! The sushi was incredibly fresh and the best I've had since moving to the Midwest. The menu in person is a bit different than what is displayed online. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and I cannot remember what was in the spoon, but it was tuna and delicious! The lemongrass and lemonade was light and refreshing. Service was quick and consistent.
