Visited Bali Asian Cuisine in Duluth today. When we arrived around 4:30 on a Saturday, the dining room was nearly empty, but by the time we left it was completely full. I had the Bali Margarita, which has a solid kick (they can make it milder upon request). My husband ordered an Old Fashioned. We both enjoyed our drinks. We shared the Spicy Peanut Wings to start, and they were easily the highlight of the meal--they were perfectly crispy and saucy. For mains, my husband ordered the Nasi Mawut. It wasn't bad, but it lacked flavor. I ordered the Bali Roll and the Cinco de Mayo Roll. Both were excellent--large rolls with fresh-tasting fish. Even my husband, who's not big on sushi, really liked them. Service was friendly and the dining room was comfortable. We'll likely try other spots nearby before returning, but we'd consider coming back for the sushi and wings. read more

Visited 9/26/25. Umm okay there's a new hot spot in West Duluth! This place was BUSY on a Friday night but we got in between 20-40 minutes and explored west Duluth while waiting. So worth the wait though and when we sat down to eat we immediately got fried potstickers. I also got the pea flower lemonade drink which was delicious and refreshing. The potstickers were the perfect small bite to tide us over before eating and the sauce was delicious. For dinner I got the 50/50 combo of fried rice and noodles. Honestly I can never decide between these two so it was like all my dreams came true. So flavorful and honestly I could barely stop eating. Great Asian fusion spot in Lincoln Park craft district. Lively atmosphere and great service! Love the Bali-inspired decor. Large menu with so many options to choose from but we settled on Lemongrass chicken rice bowl and fried rice noodles. Both were very tasty especially the noodles. It's not authentic by any means but it's the best of both worlds :) Highly recommend it! Plenty street and lot parking close by. I've had this place on my list for a while, so was happy to take it off on 9/29/24 at 2:30pm. Because of the time, there were not many in the restaurant, so our service was quick. I'm not sure how it differs at peak hours. Our server was friendly and happy to recommend dishes for us first-time visitors. My friend and I went for the yellow curry (called mama mus on the menu) and a pork belly bowl, both were generous portions, which I was glad as it was a bit expensive at $15 and $20 respectively. The spice level of the curry was satisfactory and the pork belly had a great texture and I love the addition of the crunchy salad and wonton crisps. Picked up some takeout for a night in. Decided to go with the Singapore Noodles with added veggies and honey garlic chicken. With tax it was $26. Taste was fresh, had alright flavor, but it was a pretty dry dish. For the added veggies and chicken I would have expected a little more. Not a napkin or utensil in the bag either. I'm here from out of town, smelled delicious smells when the door opened while I was walking by and I decided to stop in for a bite and a drink. The bar was full, but since Bent Paddle allows for walk-in food, I decided to order takeout. I agor a drink while I was waiting. I was in Duluth for the first time with my daughter and she found Bali Asian Cuisine for us to have dinner our first night there. I'm Vegan , she is not. This place was so great. It's beautiful , was obviously popular with the locals, the staff were so friendly and the food/drink menus were fantastic! I was able to order a couple of things vegan right off the menu and when I asked about a particular entree the bartender went back and confirmed it could be made vegan with the chef. Did I mention it was a packed house , so we had full service at the bar opposed to waiting for a table? I'm so glad we did. The drinks were fire! I could see this place thriving in the Bay Area (which is hard for even the best in the Bay!). The chef came out and served my dish (Cap Cay) and it was not only beautifully fresh and filling, it was delicious. So far Bali Asian Cuisine has been my favorite part of Minnesota . So glad we stopped in here! The sushi was incredibly fresh and the best I've had since moving to the Midwest. The menu in person is a bit different than what is displayed online. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Minnesota. The food: Fresh, super flavorful, wonderfully large portions for left overs, and a great variety. Not to mention, this is an actual authentic Balinese restuarant. The staff: From the owner down, I have NEVER had a single issue. They are always very friendly, treat you like they actually want to have you there, and are always on top of things without being in your face all the time. This is a relatively new place in west Duluth and brings an interesting twist to the Asian food scene here. It's quite different from your average Chinese/Thai/Indian takeout. I had the Rendang which is a beef stew from the mountainous regions in Indonesia. It was delicious, and you get a LOT of beef which was very tender. My mom ordered the mama mus curry, which did have a nice flavor. HOWEVER: the price for this curry is at $15 on the menu. It does say you can add a protein for $3 or $5 depending on the meat. My mom decided not to add a protein and just said that the veggies were enough. It was a little confusing when the check came and she was charged $3 for "veggies." She did not ask for EXTRA veggies, just for the basic dish that was put on the menu with no add ons. I'm not understanding why you would put a vegetable curry on the menu for $15 and then implement a $3 charge for no protein. Just have it priced at $18 then with choice of veggie, chicken, or tofu and then have a $2 up charge for beef or shrimp? Seems like there's no way out of the fee. The prices for the entrees are in the $15-$25 range which definitely isn't cheap but isn't awful. The price makes sense for the portion and quality. The place is also very clean and has a modern look inside. It has a classy atmosphere without the need to dress up. This would be a good place to take your out of town guests just because it's so different. I would come back! FYI: they do implement a 3% service charge for card transactions.
