We called early in the day to make 4:30pm reservations for the Friday fish fry . Shortly after we were seated at a table for two we were asked to move to a high top table in order to accommodate a larger party where they had to put tables together. A couple walked in and they were seated at the table for two and a party of three was seated at the other table. The fried fish here is good although many of the pieces were narrow and mostly beer batter. The all you can eat is really the all you can wait special. It takes a considerable amount of time to be served more fish. read more

If you've never had a Juicy Lucy cheeseburger this is the place to go. The cheese is in the inside of the burger. But be careful. Cheese is hot. I don't know where to start- We ordered take out and had to wait 20 minutes after they said it would be ready, then we get home and i got a juicy lucy and my friend got just a cheeseburger- my burger was dry with very little borsin cheese on it and maybe one piece of bacon. Hers was dry and they forgot the onions. I just wanted the burger and they gave me chips and charged full price- if I had known that I would have just gotten the fries- VERY disappointed across the board. I saw this place on the local news. Known for their burgers and fish fry on Friday, right up my alley! It had been on my radar and when we 'staycayed' in Duluth, I was looking forward to checking it out. It is at the top of Duluth, far from all things touristy. This is a place where the locals go! When we arrived I noticed the old beer endorsing sign and the restaurant looks like it was converted from a house. We nabbed a table right away. I'm glad we got there when we did because this small restaurant started to fill up and there was a wait not long after we arrived. I knew right away that I wanted the fish fry and my kids ordered burgers. They had a good local beer selection, too. Everyone walked away with a clean plate. It was a good experience and I felt like we discovered a gem. It was far from Grandma's and that was a good thing. When I'm traveling I love finding local joints. read more

I feel bad rating this place. To start off it is super clean and nicely decorated. We loved it walking in. Staff was super pleasant and helpful. Menu was great! We ordered onion rings for an app, I ordered the burger with Boursin cheese on it and husband ordered the fried cod. It took awhile but our burger and fish came out. I was confused as to why the onion rings didn't come out and the waitress said the staff forgot to make them. I asked if we could just cancel them as we already had our main meal. She said they were already being made so we couldn't. That is fine, but then comp them. It isn't our fault your staff didn't make them. Burger wasn't really impressive at all. I opened it and they forgot the cheese. I gave up and just seasoned it with salt and pepper as it seemed really really bland. Again, the waitress apologized for the kitchen staff. Husbands fish was kinda funny. We shop Costco and often get the beer battered cod in the freezer section.....that is exactly what came out! I cracked up. It's a little place, of course they are going to buy it frozen..but it was still funny. He tried to act like he wasn't disappointed, but you could totally tell he was. Would I recommend this place given our visit? No. Other people seem to really love it, so maybe we just hit it on a bad Saturday. Who knows. My rating is for my visit of course. read more

Horrible service. Brought the family in for lunch. We were the first group of 4 to show up. They asked for our drinks and then never showed back to our table. We sat there for 20 minutes waiting as other people showed up. The new people all had their orders taken and I had to still go up 2 times to politely ask if we could give them our order. Still no one came by. Finally we asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave. The bartender lady did not care at all. Good food, we all had burgers and wings which were all great. Hottest wings aren't too hot but cooks made us some hot sauce that was good and hot (should be on the regular menu) Fries were good, love the breeze sauce or whatever garlic sauce she gave us on the side. Discovered this establishment on a Man vs Food episode so had to try while I was in town. The bar/restaurant is bright and clean. The bartender recommended a couple items and we were very impressed. We frequent The Breeze Inn and I can honestly say we have never had a bad experience with the food or staff here. The fish and chips are the best thing on the menu, but the burgers are a close second. We've also had quesadillas, chicken tenders and apps over the years. Everything is delicious. I can't believe it, I actually salted my chicken wings. I've never actually had to do this before. Some friends and I where headed here for dinner and one person was talking about how one of his favorite places to grab a chicken sandwich didn't have it anymore. So then I was craving a chicken sandwich. The Breeze Inn doesn't have one, so I went for one of their favorite items "bitchin breeze" wings. When I asked what the sauce actually was the server said it's kinda orange in color and mildly spicy. I should have known to switch my selection right then and there. We started with the white cheddar cheese curds. Great choice, the curds were yummy, and the garlic sauce it came with took it to another satisfying level. Now for my wings. They were cooked well, had a nice crunch when I bit into them, and the meat was juicy. But man, that sauce was dull and boring. I reached for table salt to add a little something and it still didn't quite make a difference. Bummer! My husbands burger, brew pub, was tasty though. I stole a couple bites of his burger. Service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere was laid back, and it was a nice change compared to busy downtown of Duluth. It's a good stop for grub if you're in that area, just don't get the "bitchin breeze" sauce on anything. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at the Breeze Inn! I had the all you could eat Fish Fry (every Friday night), with homemade tartar sauce, and it was delicious. My wife had the cream cheese and olive hamburger, which we had never had before, and she really liked it! And they have all the great local beers, Castle Danger Cream Ale is one of our favorites. PROTIP: Recommend you get there before 6pm on a Friday night, there is a waitlist but they turn the tables pretty quickly. You won't be disappointed. read more

This has been one one of my favorite spots for consistently good food and service. Not tonight! Very disappointed- been here almost 2 hours and no food yet. Bartender sucked and was rude... sat at bar while waiting for our table and he was obviously angry that it was busy. He was slamming stuff down, didn't have time to answer questions about what was on tap, yet didn't offer a list - he had a stack of menus with the beer list right next to him. He seemed really put out that he had to wait on customers. I'm really sad he is working at what was one of my favorites places. Once we got seated we ordered right away- then the wait, and wait, and wait, and wait....ugh. I hate to give this place a bad review but the bartender was such a douche and it took forever for our food. I'll try it again but not anytime soon. read more

I was very disappointed with the service, and I believe the waitress was the owners wife. We had to ask Multiple times for items she forgot to bring. I ended up having to go to the bar to ask for them, we all had water. It was disgusting, who serves well water at a business?! The food was ok. We won't be returning. Kate the owner contacted me via fb messenger, and asked me to call her at the restaurant, so I did. She proceeded to tell me to take my review down. She called me stupid and silly for the post and flat out said everyone was making fun of me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about a place and is able to leave a review based off of their experience. The service was shit, we damn near had to serve ourselves. BAD CHOICE go elsewhere! At 12;31 pm I made a reservation for 3 at 6:30 pm. We arrived at 6:30 after a half an hour drive. We were told by the hostess that they couldn't fins our reservation, but she would get her manager. The manager was rude, put up a fuss about the reservation and offer to have us wait. We left, driving another half hour back to Duluth. Thats an hour of driving plus time to get ready and then park the car, wear masks, stand in line at the podium, etc. From the car we called another place, secured a reservation and had a much better experience. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE, you will be treated much better elsewhere read more

I travel a lot and this is one of my favorite places for great food and good fun. If you sit at the bar you will meet a lot of friendly people who are happy to share great information about Duluth. I did not know a soul, but I felt that I knew Duluth when I left. The burgers are really special. I had a Breeze Burger and liked it better than the ones in Minneapolis. I have been hearing about the Breeze since moving to Duluth. It doesn't disappoint, easily the best burger in the twin ports! The Juicy Lucy was molten on the inside the way they should be, also they give credit to Matt's bar for the origination of the burger which legend has it they started. Beer list is vast and many great selections from near and far. The place is small and full but they did a good job taking names down and we only waited 20 minutes with a beer in hand, so that's hardly a bad thing.
