This local gem is a fast quick, cheap breakfast joint. You seat yourself and a waiter will promptly assist with coffee and water. Food isn't 5 star but it's delicious for its price. The true reason we chose to eat at this location was because traffic was bad and we were kinda hungry. We were told to sit wherever upon entering the restaurant which wasn't bad and the service was good but my grandma wasn't happy because the waitress won't let us take a newspaper. Our food finally came and I was very disappointed. I had ordered a cup of soap and their caesar salad. Their soap of the day was chicken wild rice and it was horrible. As a follow up to the Vanilla Bean story, after being ignored at one restaurant in town, we thought we would try another local place. We walked in and waited to be seated. There were two open table but the place was busy. We waited for a hostess or waitress to wave us in or at least tell us we would be taken care of in a minute. Eventually a waitress approached the table directly in front of us and took orders. As she finished I expected her to at least say SOMETHING to us. Instead she turned her back and began to walk away. I politely said excuse me can we...... she simply walked away. I guess they did not want our money. So we left. To sum up the two local places in town treated us so rudely that we made it a point not to spend a dime in Two Harbors and aside from buying some items at the local grocery we did not. read more

This little cafe was just perfect for us. It has a very reasonable priced menu with good basic foods, such as breakfast all day, sandwiches and good salads. The service was good even when all of their tables were full. The waitress was prompt and attentive and pleasant. The building itself could use a little upgrading, but was otherwise fairly clean. Always wondered about this place as I have been by it hundreds of times. Finally got the chance to try today and will not be back. Usually we LOVE small town cafes but apparently if you're not local, this is not the place for you. Waitress was bordering on rude. Food took almost an hour to come out and there were only 4-5 other tables. I ordered a special (Jack Bacon Burger) with a side salad. Burger was dry and didn't bring my salad until after my burger. Onion rings were the only redeeming factor here. My husband ordered a "Steak Sandwich" that was supposed to come with a side salad. No salad ever served and what he got was a mushy steak (not sure if it was just under cooked or going bad...) with fries and toast. No sandwich. And my steak-loving husband couldn't even eat half of the steak because it was so bad. My kid loved his pancake and french toast but both the bacon on my sandwich and his plate were rubbery/undercooked. My other son just got chicken strips and french fries...which were mediocre at best. The fries were thick cut with no seasoning. Pretty much the worst kind. The waitress never checked on us once or even glanced our way. It was probably the worst dining experience I have had in years. Very sad as I had very high hopes for such a cute little diner. read more

Two harbors is a cute little town on the north shore of superior lake. Was told by the nice woman who owned the Hotel we stayed at that this was the place to eat. She was right went there for breakfast it was so good and very busy. Staff was nice and friendly, food came out fast and ace great too. The price was bad either. read more

Came here after being in the BWCA for 5 days and cleaned my Mile High Omelet with cheese and onion hashbrowns in 15 minutes. It was perfect and even when I'm not starving, this remains to be my favorite place to get breakfast along the North Shore, and by the way, it serves breakfast all day! Tourist laden? Oh no! This is the place where the locals hang-out. In fact, in the morning, it's jam packed with groups of men who seem to choose to hang out here than the local bar!
