I'll say this for a start. This review may come with a bit of a bias, because I have worked at their sister company, and I understand the quality of work that goes into the food. Having said that already, take that into consideration, with a grain of salt for good measure, as you read. I will try to be as fair and unbiased as possible.
I have been here three times already, and each time was better than the last. The first time I came, not knowing what to expect, I got the Steak Burrito, and I wasn't impressed to say the least. I thought the sauce that came on it just clashed with the steak, and it tasted strange. I may look up the actual sauce that was on it, just so that I don't order it in the future.
Needless to say, I was ready to write Jucy's Taco off as a sister company to Taco Bell, instead of the one that it is actually related to. Then one day, I was traveling to work, and was hungry for something on the way. It had just opened right before lunch, so I was like, "Well, let's just see if Jucy's Taco is really worth the bad reputation that I'm ready to give it, because I know from my experience as a customer and as an employee that the quality of the food that we produce is good."
I got two Bean and Cheese Burritos and a DP, because I felt that would be a decent standard of excellence that I know my company would hit. The food did have a marked improvement. It still had similar flavorings to the company I just explained, but the quality of the ingredients was better.
Now we come to the food I just ordered from DoorDash today. I got the same burritos and drink, but I ordered a chicken quesadilla as well. Very good quesadilla that has a similar chipotle ranch style sauce as the one we use at Jucy's Hamburgers. The flavors blended well. I would also recommend getting it with some raw onions inside, which I got. It makes a big difference.
I think from my experiences at Jucy's Taco, that it may be a case of just finding an entree that you like, and sticking to it. Some restaurants have a bigger menu than others, and because of that, it does take some trial and error in order to find the right order to go with.
I know it's probably a big undertaking to get all of that implemented across all the stores, but I'd like to see what Jucy's Taco could come up with in the breakfast industry. I think they could come up with some glorious offerings. read more
