I rarely leave reviews but I told myself I have to do one for Juan's Muffler. I have been there twice and the first time I wanted something done to my muffler on one of my cars years and years ago. I got there a little after 5 knowing that they close at 6 and they still took me in and did an awesome job with the work. They even stayed past 6 to make sure the exhaust was done to my liking and charged me a fair price. I just went back on 1/10/25 because I needed some work done to an X pipe I had for one of my other cars. I showed up and I was quoted a certain amount for the work and in less than an hour, the exhaust was done and the owners son that had originally quoted me, said that it took less time than expected and took $40 off my total because he said it wasn't all that difficult. I will always go back to them for when I need exhaust work done and I will be coming back soon for some custom work for my truck. The owners sons are great and super personable. I do not recommend this place. The woman working there is a bitch. If you get a quote, make sure you get it in writing. Jose gave us a quote over the phone and the woman would not honor it. We got a catalytic converter that we thought was new. After they installed one in my car they told me it was a rebuilt one. They only sell rebuilt catalytic converters. There's also a 3-4% fee to use your bank card. (debit or charge) They should get a new counter person, because the woman there does not care about you or your business. She kept saying that she can take the new catalytic converter off and put mine back on after she knew I wasn't happy. That was her way of telling me to f#%k off. DO NOT GIVE THIS PALCE YOUR BUSINESS. FEMALE DRIVERS WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!! I recently was recommended to this shop by a friend. I am a single mother of 2 children who works hard in order to pay for my car and any modifications I do to my car. I am new to the car scene but knew that I wanted to change out the original stock exhaust system to a Magnaflow system. I went to Juan's first thing in the morning and spoke to Juan directly strongly stressing that I did not want just any system but the Magnaflow system. Juan said that they could do it. The car was loud and when I accelerated past 30 mph, the vibrations were so strong coming from the middle of the car that it was not pleasant to drive. I knew that something was not right. I researched Magnaflow online and found out that they start at $1100 for a Camry like mine. I paid $700 at Juan's so I was not sure what actually was placed into my car. Thankfully when they switched out the stock parts in my car, I had enough reason to know to take them with me ( as they were ready to keep them). I went back to Juan's and asked that everything be put back on as close to stock as possible and when I asked the guys to show me what was taken off my car I realized that Juan exchanged the pipes and cut off my converter (which is illegal in the state of CA) and replaced it with a MagnaPack instead which was without my knowledge or consent and exchanged the muffler. My converter is over $2,000 so I think he wanted to resale it without me knowing but thankfully I have enough knowledge to keep my stock parts! I asked to have my money back as Juan had originally assured me that he was installing a genuine Magnaflow system ( including the muffler and pipes) which is NOT what I was given. Juan's guys called him on the phone in which case they told me that he wasn't going to give me my money back. The face that he took advantage of a female is disgusting but not only that but he cut off my converter which is illegal!! He did it without my consent or knowledge! DO NOT COME HERE! The price is cheap because your getting illegal work done by a shady businessman! I will be reporting this company to the BAR but save yourself the headache that I will have to go through! A mechanic I trust recommended Juan's Muffler to me. My rear pipes were shot as were the mufflers. When I arrived, I was quickly attended to and my car put up on the rack, he recommended the mufflers I needed and the turn downs to save a little money. There was no real functional reason to extend the pipes all the way to the rear of the car, so I decided on the turn downs, and I saved some cash. He completed the work in about 30 minutes or less and I was ready to go. These guys are pros, they do quality work, and treat you well, but most importantly, the price was right. I called Juan's this morning about helping secure a catalytic converter guard that I had installed myself. They were very kind and told me to bring in my car and they would take a look. I was helped by Carlos. He was great. He put the car up on the lift, we discussed the options, and he tacked a few bolts in a way to make their removal more difficult. Awesome local muffler shop. I went in (no appointment)and asked for a muffler and resonator delete and replace it with a Y straight pipe on my MINI. They quoted me at $150 which was already about $100 less than some other place quoted me at. They finished my custom exhaust within two hours and my car sounds amazing. My vehicle needed a new catalytic converter (darn you CA smog laws) and I called around and this place had the best price for the labor + part I needed for me to be able to get a smog check. I arrived, got greeted immediately and they began work on my vehicle. If you can keep yourself busy with your cell or grab a quick bite, that would be ideal as there is essentially no "waiting room". I didn't come here to be treated like I was checking into a 5 star hotel, I came for work to be done to my vehicle. 35-40 mins later, I was off and car ran fine and passed smog. So for those of my Yelp friends that know what I've been through with Toyota and the fact my 2003 Toyota Corolla S would not pass smog , you know what I've been through. For those that don't know who I am, let me advise you never, never, never take your car to a dealership for a Smog Check. Normally I know better but because my car was being serviced for another repair I decided to kill to birds with one stone... bad move. Not only would my car not pass the smog, they would not give me a definite answer as to why, and finally after the 4th failed test they advised me that it "might" be the Catalytic Converter which they could replace for a piddly (insert sarcasm here) $1861.00 estimate! This is the good part, and where Juan's Muffler Shop comes in. Without even seeing my car Juan's quoted around $280 to replace the Catalytic Converter and the smog, they had the part replaced within a couple of hours and offered to do the smog and even did a preliminary test to see if it would pass (at no extra cost, and it did pass!) but because I had already paid Toyota I was determined to get my what I paid for, so I took it back and it passed and they footed the bill for the transfer fees. I would not hesitate to use or recommend Juan's Muffler Shop for myself or others, its hard to come by good solid and dependable service, and I find Juan's Muffler shop to be very honest and personable mechanics! I thank you, My little Corolla thanks you, and of course the State of California thanks you too... Toyota might not thank you since they thought they'd found a patsy to line their pockets ... but boo freakin hoo for them! read more
