This place was recommended to me. And they have good prices no up charge! I had to get a master cylinder replaced they quoted me 270ish so me being me I had to go somewhere else and price check I went to big brand they wanted to charge me 575!!!! That was insane!!! I would 1000 percent recommend this shop. It's been here for over 30 years and the inside looks like it. But it strangely gives you a comfort feeling with the old soda machine old posters from the 90s . It just gives your grandpas shop. I love me a mom and pop shop. They do it right every time !! It's nothing fancy but I like that about it. It's not about how it looks it's about how great of a job they do! They get your parts quick! And they are great! They do ALLL kinds of repairs. Today I came in for a break pad change rotor balance ! But!!! They don't do tap to pay. So bring your card or cash. read more

Was referred to Pronto by the base auto shop. Called in to give a brief description of the issue and they were able to see me within 10 mins. Upon inspection of the car they were able to identify some issues and fix them asap. Very pleased with the service from these guys! 10/10 ! read more

We have used Pronto for over a decade on multiple vehicles. Friendly service and fair pricing. They call you by your name. It's no frills and priced accordingly. Find your own uber to get home. They have a waiting area and the coffee is not terrible. Honest and reliable. That's all I really need in a mechanic. read more

Went to Pronto Muffler to get an estimate on a catalytic converter for my vehicle. All Andy did was challenge everything I said, then he started talking about how bad my vehicle was running!!!??? What the hell does my vehicle's running condition have to do with me getting an estimate for a catalytic converter!!!??? NEVER GO TO PRONTO MUFFLER UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH THAT JERK ANDY!!! YOU'LL HAVE BETTER LUCK AT THE MUFFLER SHOP ON 5TH STREEET!!! read more

Walking in the door I was curious as I remembered the line from Albert Einstein, A clean desk is a sign of a messy mind. Little did I know an auto had taken out the entry to their reception area. We had a curious rumble under the hood that for best I could tell was muffler related as we had no dash lights or power/mileage issues or smoking exhaust. We keep regular services as per manufacture lists. They come back to me with the oil stick and we are extremely low on oil??? 3 quarts, we are fine and out the door, no noise and the other issue of shudder while idling are gone. Honest real people and very reasonable read more

Quick, fast, friendly service with no upcharge or upselling at a reasonable price highly recommend and they are never backed up

The car dealer service departments are all about commission now. They will tell you to replace things that don't need to be replaced. They take advantage of the elderly, which is sad as they have limited income. Andy and his staff are honest. I take my car to get oil changed, brakes, tires, and wheel alignment. If there's something wrong with my car I go there first. If it's something his shop can't do, he'll refer me and let me know where to go. It's rare to find an honest mechanic like him and his staff. read more

Pulled in on my lunch brake with an emergency and Wow! They are knowledgeable, extremely efficient, and affordable. I am floored by how quickly they jumped to immediately fix my car (stupid Honda Element with a stolen car and jacked muffler lol) and get me out the door. Can't say enough good stuff about this place. I'll 100% be coming back with my service needs for my car. read more

Been coming for over a year now. Replaced my master cylinder recently since I didn't feel like doing it myself, their prices are great, quality work, fast service and very reliable. Saved me time and effort. This is the only shop I trust, other shops tend to leave vehicles worse than when they came in or break things. read more

I brought my exhaust that I purchased online to Andy at Pronto and they had me in and out in under an hour at a very good price. These guys are great and I highly recommend stopping in if you need something done as far as muffler replacement goes! Will be returning again that's for sure read more

I went here for an oil change and I've come here before for exhaust work but I was shocked at what I witnessed, not only did they not add oil into my oil filter upon install but also didn't latch my hood, thankfully I had hood pins as a fail safe. Lost my trust with them. read more

If you need anything, Pronto will take care of you with their genuine, good-hearted team of mechanics who are willing and ready to help. Everything was thoroughly explained, the shop is clean and organized, and equally important - the prices are right. I highly recommend calling them first. read more

This shop is legit. I got the best price around oxnard that says a lot. It was referred to me by a local dealer parts personnel due to the OEM parts were discontinued. Lee is professional and very nice. We need to support good local business. read more

Andy and Lee are the best! Been coming here for about 13 years with my personal cars and my family's cars! Top quality work with reasonable prices. They are always honest and trustworthy. They specialize in brakes, alignments and mufflers. They always go above and beyond for me and I usually ask them if it's something they can install. For example, like a front strut brace for my car, camber bolts or coil over suspension. This is my usual go to place with my vehicles. Lee always ensures me of things I want to replace but dont need too. I went ahead and purchased new bearings and hubs for my vehicle along with rotors and pads. Thinking my bearings where making noise. But when he showed me the brake caliper it was a bad instal of the previous owners mechanic. Lee fixed the problem and also took the time to show me what was going on. Couldn't thank them enough for all the work they have done over the years! read more

Been going here for last 5 years for exhaust work. Changing muffler to building complete new system these guys rock. Straight forward pricing and quick service. I made the mistake of trying a difderent shop to install a muffler and had terrible experience with their work. Never again i send all my friends and customers here. There is a reason they have been in business for so long and it is because of the quality work they provide. read more

Went to the dealership for a problem with my muffler and almost got charged an arm and a leg came here and definitely was charged reasonably. In and out quick and great customer service. read more

I had some damage on my muffler from a small accident that made it rattle while driving. I got a quote from the dealer to repair the muffler (they probably quoted me to replace the whole thing) for almost $1000. I brought it to the shop in the morning and within 15 minutes they told me they could fix the issue in 20 minutes for $44. I was supper thrilled and couldn't believe it. The repair looks good. read more

Lee was very helpful!! Gave me different options to fix my muffler, very honest and affordable. Would definitely recommend them.

Absolutely outstanding. They fixed my exhaust to BETTER than new. If you want fair pricing and great service then definitely go here. Went on a recommendation and am glad I did. read more

For the past 20 years, I've relied on Pronto Brake and Muffler to keep my vehicles in good running order. Before my wife passed away, we owned a "handicapped-accessible" Plymouth van because she needed a power wheelchair to get around. The van was heavier than a "stock" model, so Andy and Lee installed specialized brake pads to provide extra stopping power. And, while they don't advertise the service, they maintained the slide-out ramp and other specialized components for us. I was proud that our van sported a "Pronto" sticker indicating who maintained it. After so many positive experiences, I have the utmost confidence in Andy and Lee to give me an honest assessment of my vehicle's condition. I'm comfortable taking it to them and simply asking what repairs are needed. Just today, I took my Chevy sedan in because I had a rear tire that had run flat a few times in the past week. Upon entering the showroom, I told Andy that I probably needed two new tires because of the leaky one. From personal experience and from hearing friends' and relatives' horror stories, I know that if a customer prognoses a problem for a mechanic, they'll perform an inspection, and most likely agree with the customer's assessment. Then they'll recommend a repair job, new parts, etc. I had resigned myself to the probability of needing to spend $150-$200 today for new tires. If Andy told me the tires needed replacement, I would have believed him without question. However, after examining the "leaky" tire, Andy informed me that he found a nail in it, which could be easily repaired. He also suggested that, based on the condition of all four tires, I should be able to get another six months from them before they need to be replaced. So, instead of spending upwards to $200 on the tires, I left Pronto only $12 "lighter" than when I arrived. A day that started on a lousy note suddenly got a lot better! Sometimes though, I wonder how Andy and Lee feed their families, given all of the repair jobs they tell their customers aren't needed immediately or at all! There's no question where I will take my vehicles when they need repairs, service, or new tires. I have full confidence that the nice guys at Pronto Brake and Muffler will give me the straight scoop when I bring my vehicles into their parking lot, and that they'll do excellent work when it's needed. I recommend the business without the slightest hesitation. P.S. I don't know how Google determined that I reside in Kansas - I've lived in Oxnard, CA for all but four years of my life, including the last 33. read more

This is by far the best muffler shop I have been to in my 73 years. Andy is a true gentlemen and treated me as a old friend. I was given a quote for brakes on my car over the phone. The quote was based on the worst case possible. When Andy inspected my car the quote dropped $350. I highly recommend this shop and will use them in the future, read more
