Very disappointed... I took my car here for a full diagnostic because I needed to know the issues with it - issues being coolant leak/overheating and some electrical issues. They replaced my heater hose and vacuum pump as well as installing a cooling system. I spent $1,114 here for my car to have the exact same problems as when I left. I came back a a month and a half (give or take some time) later because my car had been overheating still (never stopped leaking) *for reference I only waited to go back because I knew I got scammed already but screw it , I went back anyways* Took it back and Doug said they found two small coolant leaks that they "clamped" and everything is fine now. MIND YOU, the entire top of my coolant reservoir was visibly cracked and broken and never once did they mention it should be replaced *video attached of crack and coolant bubbling out* I'm not sure how I took my car here twice and they didn't once think this crack was an issue. They told me they fixed the vacuum pump and the coolant leak and let me know I had a small oil leak. Fast forward to this week, I took my car to get a second opinion and I definitely feel like money was STOLEN from me by these people. The vacuum pump they "installed" wasn't installed and the hose they supposedly fixed wasn't plugged in properly which was causing my check engine light to come on (coincidence? maybe they thought they could get more money out of me if my light came on?) THEY NEVER ONCE FIXED THE COOLANT LEAK AND I GOT CHARGED OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR. The coolant leak was coming from the TOP CRACK of the reservoir and there was a crack at the bottom.... so WHAT exactly did "dependable" car care take care of? I feel like they will definitely try to scam you if you aren't educated on your vehicle. Unfortunately, I was educated late in the game after I already came here. I will never come here again and I will tell everyone I know not to trust these people with their cars. I spent DOUBLE what I had to coming here. Basically donated $1,100 to this place for doing absolutely nothing and then had to go spend another $1,000 elsewhere to get the whole reservoir changed and be told my oil leak is massive, not little What a joke, please save your money and don't come here. *included pictures of receipt and coolant leak they told me was "fine"* I waited a while because I didn't think it was worth it writing a review but after multiple people told me I should, I decided it could possibly help someone else. I was completely taken advantage of and I was naive and didn't do my research. I had a gut feeling once I saw the grand total that this place was going to rip me off and they did. Took her car in and decided not to get the work it needed done, only because it cost too much. I don't think they liked that, because we' got the car back and the lug nuts were torqued on so tight the wheel could not come off the vehicle without causing damage. Not happy, and will not return. I remain unable to remove the rear wheel without breaking a stud. One of the rear wheels is still stuck on. read more

We've been going to Dependable Car Care for over a decade, only positive experiences till last Monday. Dan, the owner is wonderful, honest and invested in his business; he followed up after we left a bad review, due to the negative experience with his service advisor Doug, who seems to lack accountability and service in his dealing with us as a customer, unfortunately. Doug called us stating we need a new starter, which we approved, to then call us later when car is ready with a new battery. When addressed, he denied this and became rude. We could have put a battery in ourselves, a much cheaper one since it's a 2008 car and not worth much, versus spending 260$ on it. We appreciate Dan's follow up, increased review by 1star, yet it didn't change the initial bad experience w Doug, which broke our trust in this garage. read more

We have used this mechanic shop for 6 years and 3 older cars. Truthfully the experience has been awful, oil changes take 4-6 hours, check engine light reading took two days, the front desk guy mansplains and has no idea what he's talking about, they did not do the work we asked them to do and most times it took about three days. Update: it was a bad alternator....one of the most basic things on a car..a simple google search of the engine code error and a little research and I fixed the car myself. They should have been able to figure out that the alternator was bad if they "tested" my car. read more

As my usual mechanic was closed due to the pandemic I had to find someone soon as I had an obvious brake issue. I checked Yelp and read many reviews of several mechanics. In the end I narrowed it down to two and chose the one closest to me in case I had to run home. I emailed Dependable Car Care with my concern and he got back to me almost immediately. We set an appointment for the following day. I dropped off the car and met Dan, the owner. He was kind, thoughtful and informational. He called me within a couple of hours and gave me the diagnosis and estimate. I gave him the go ahead to make the repair. After a few hours he called and informed me that the car was ready for pick-up. My brake system is now functioning properly and I feel confident in driving the vehicle. Another thing that I like is his post service follow up. While picking up the car we started talking about various subjects and I found him to be quite personable and friendly. Very disappointed,I had so much work done here and only positive experience, recently I had a leak and knew where it was coming from,but didn't inform them I knew because I thought they'd be straight up with me like always, I saw the color of the fluid when it was squirting out.not oil color,they told me it was an oil leak,but my oil level is perfect,it was coolant that was leaking,easy fix because it was coming from the reservoir,I literally fixed it with a 2 dollar bottle of super glue, they tried to charge me over 450 to fix something I didn't need now. When I visited Dependable Care Care for the first time, I told Dan that I fully believed that the big battery of my Prius needed to be replaced. I had gotten the "red triangle of death" previously and had 2 other toyota mechanics tell me the big battery needed to be replaced. Amazingly, after running the codes and doing some diagnostic Dan let me know that my battery was pretty solid and did not need replacing! In fact, just running the codes seemed to resolve my issues and info display on dashboard now shows the big battery is not running as low as previously. The epic part of this story is that I already believed I needed a new or reconditioned battery, but instead of pushing the sell, Dan told me the Truth. I am impressed to find a truly ethical and honest mechanic. When necessary, I will definitely bring my Prius to Dan for the battery to be re-conditioned! read more
