Towed Vanagon to Trujillo who gave me an honest assessment. Trujillo is an honest mechanic. His mechanic, Hugo, was top-notch as well. They were able to diagnose a broken rear transaxle, fixed it and got us back on the road at a reasonable and fair price. Trujillo and his wife were lovely. I had been having issues with my steering wheel shaking violently while on the freeway at high speeds and just like a loose feeling in the wheel in general. I came to Oxnard Car Repair after visiting two other places who told me that my rack and pinion needed to be replaced. I asked for a quote for that replacement and it was significantly lower than other places I had called for a quote. He checked my car out and determined that the actual problem was that the steering column needed to be adjusted. I appreciate that he took the time to figure out what was actually wrong. Bad workmanship to be honest. Did not know it at the time but took my 2000 silverado for a rear main seal leak. Spoke to truillio (owner) he said it would be $600.00 to replace seal kit. A year after it was leaking again like a sieve. I took it back but he said he wasn't available that week. So I took it to another shop. I found that Oxnard Car repair used silicon for the gasket. No wonder it started leaking. Never again. You should be ashamed of yourself for shotty workmanship. read more

They were actually open on the Sunday before Labor Day. Our Sienna van broke down at the beach in Oxnard, 75 miles from where we live. I had to leave my family at the beach to get the car towed. The owner said that he was pretty sure that it was the cable to the transmission linkage. I made it clear that my family was stranded and needed to get home. I ended up spending 7 hours there waiting. Finally he took a look at the van and said he didn't have the part. But could rig it so we could get home safely. After another hour, he made it so I could drive back to the beach, get my family and go home. I appreciate that he he got me home and only charged me an hour, but, spending the whole day in his waiting room while my family was stranded at the the beach turned a five star to a four. read more

I ordered suspension parts (lowering springs, shocks and struts, panhard bar, and camber bolts) for my 2013 Mustang GT and I couldn't be happier with the result. Wouldn't even give this repair/tire shop 1 star if I didn't have to. Purchased 2 brand new tires on a Wednesday and drove to Santa Barabara 3 days later and had to pull off the fwy. due to what felt like a flat tire. Turned out there was a bubble in the tire and ended up needing to be towed to a nearby tire shop to buy another new tire to continue the trip. Not only was it dangerous but I took it back to this shop, and the owner wouldn't give me a refund for the faulty tire and told me to contact the manufacturer. He was completely unprofessional and not customer focused. First time buying tires there and will never go back or refer anyone. Buyer BEWARE!! read more

I went to visit a friend in Oxnard and we decided to change the transmission fluid on my camaro only to learn we can't get the stripped bolt off to fill after we drained it already. I called several places only to be told to schedule an appointment but when I called Oxnard Car Repair I was told to bring it in immediately and in five minutes they had everything fixed and me back on my way for the cheapest price! They are hard to find because of my car type, but even that did not stop him from having them delivered the next day with no extra charge or hassle. I took my car in for a tick noise and I had a feeling it was the rocker arm bolt but ended up selling me on a lifter job. Anyways, while he was working on my car he messed up the computer and he wanted to return the car to me like that and I refused. He then messed it up more and told me he couldn't do anything because he was only "mechanical" so then I had to take it to crown dodge where they fixed it. He then said he'd pay for the expense on the computer but when I showed up acted like he did nothing wrong and said he would only pay me back on the job he did that was wrong. This guy is shady and I don't recommend bringing your car here. I'd say you take it to the dealer because if he messes something up , he definitely won't own up to it. read more

My tire wasn't salvageable but the guy was able to recommend a used tire (grateful that they helped me save money and not led to be sold brand new only) and took me right away at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. I want to say it again because the owner came in on a Sunday so I could have my car on Monday. They repaired my car and charged half of what other mechanics were charging. He really cares if you get a good deal and won't charge unnecessary prices I want to add more to my review because someone had posted about using a credit card here. I have used a credit card several times and no one has ever taken any money or added more to my price than what he had told me. I wish I could give no rating! This establishment scammed me and charged me for work they never did on my car. One of their mechanics told me that they did no work. When I asked for receipts I was verbally abused by the owners son. Who when I was leaving made the comment that black people are difficult.He also called me the b word amongst other things.
