I'm new to the area, so I had to take a chance on finding a spot. The first place I took it completely ripped me off. The replaced one part, and changed my oil. I wont even say what they charged, but its 2 to 3 times what it should have been; and it didnt even fix it. A couple hundred miles later, and my car became basically undriveable. Knowing the first place ripped me, I took another chance and tried out B & C repair. Within 2 hours he called and said the car was fixed. And like an honest mechanic, he handed me the part he swapped out; which was a bad spark plug. The plug looked like it was dropped at some point and basically had no gap. Not only was the car fixed, but now it drives like what I would expect a Bimmer to drive like. So clearly it was an issue before I took possession of the car. I was changed for one hour of labor, and the part. The bill was literally 1/6th of what I paid the first shop. So not only did he fix the issue, but he was completely honest and upfront. I'm really excited that I now have a go to Indy mechanic for my BMW's.

Picture this, you are driving your trusty 2007 Saturn Ion from LA to San Simeon for the weekend…read morewhen the check engine light comes on. You think "no big deal it's probably the oil." So, you get an oil change and they reset the light but the engine light stays on. You take a chance and continue to drive, however, when you just about get to Oxnard you start to have issues accelerating. You think, "Transmission issue?!" Your heart sinks. Then, as if by fate or magic (or Apple Maps) Pro-Masters appears and an absolute saint of a man named Frank offers to read the engine code for you. It turns out there was a sensor issue with the accelerator and thankfully not the transmission. Frank resets the check engine light, lets us know it's no big deal and that the computer in the car will probably forget that it was having the error in the first place. This works of course and we cannot figure out how to thank Frank for the rescue and peace of mind. Is it a crazy story? No. Is it a relatable one? Yes. I am so grateful to know there are people like Frank out there who run an honest business and are willing to help people even if there's no money to be made on a major repair. I was thinking I would have to leave the car in Oxnard, rent a car to drive north, then return after the weekend. But then I met Frank at Pro-Masters. He explained the issue was our heater core, and it needed to be replaced. I explained my plan. He said not to worry; he could bypass the heater core, allowing us to drive up to Santa Cruz and back to San Diego safely. I told him he could do the whole replacement, but he said he would prefer the quicker fix so I could get on my way. That means he voluntarily gave up the opportunity to make a couple thousand dollars so I could save money and time, and so my family could enjoy their vacation. His repair worked perfectly, took one hour to complete, and cost me $80. Any businessman who willingly sacrifices money in the best interest of the customer is top-notch, in my book. We first went to the local Toyota dealer and got hit with an estimate that was literally thousands more than what we ultimately ended up spending at Sharp's Auto Service. That's how I met Danny, who I later learned is one of the owners along with his cousin Oscar. From the beginning, what stood out was how straightforward and reasonable everything felt. The labor rate was fair, the communication was clear, and instead of pushing one expensive path, Danny took the time to explain different options for replacement parts and what made sense financially. I live in Woodland Hills, and Sharp's is in Oxnard, so this was not exactly around the corner for me. But after that first experience, I felt comfortable enough making the trip because it already felt worth it. After that, I came back with my own 2016 Chevy Volt for an A/C issue. Since that car does not have a traditional belt-driven compressor setup, I knew it was going to take more than generic trial-and-error diagnosis. Danny was patient, methodical, and clearly willing to think through a problem instead of just throwing parts at it. The issue ended up getting solved efficiently, which was a huge relief. One other thing that really stuck with me while I was there: multiple people from the neighborhood stopped by just to say hello to the team at Sharp's. That kind of thing says a lot. You can tell this is one of those local businesses that people genuinely trust and feel connected to. It's not always easy to find a shop that feels honest, competent, fair, and genuinely helpful, but that was absolutely my experience here. I left feeling really grateful that we found them.
