Shady was very professional and straight forward with me about what was absolutely necessary to fix and what could wait. Just this week I took my car to Firestone to get the tires rotated. I was told by Firestone my rear brakes and rotors needed to be replaced at the tune of $700. I was skeptical and called S&M for a quote. They gave me a rough estimate of $450 and told me to bring in the car the next day, because it was likely I didn't need the repair. Sure enough, when I took it to S&M, they said I could wait to replace the rear brakes. I trust S&M and Shady. I will definitely continue to take my car to them.

If you're looking for an honest, highly skilled mechanic, S & M Automotive is outstanding and checks so many boxes! I come down from Ventura to see "Shady", and his name couldn't be more ironic, because there's nothing shady about him or his work. He's been maintaining my 2005 Lexus SC430 and has saved me a boatload of money on repairs and maintenance over the years. He's respectful, friendly, and clearly takes pride in getting things right. My most recent service made the car run like it did when it was new. The engine is humming smoothly again, something I've honestly NEVER experienced after a repair or routine maintenance anywhere else and I've owned this car since 2007. And while the name S & M Automotive might make some people do a double take (hahaha), the only thing painful here is realizing how unnecessary other repair bills can be once you find a mechanic this good and dependable. If you want honest, skilled automotive service, S & M Automotive is absolutely trustworthy and dependable.

He said he would give me a call in awhile when he looks more into it. I received a phone call about three hours later with the exact price and that it would be ready the next day. I was extremely pleased with the job and service. He even topped off my oil and made other maintenance suggestions without being pushy. We first went to the local Toyota dealer and got hit with an estimate that was literally thousands more than what we ultimately ended up spending at Sharp's Auto Service. That's how I met Danny, who I later learned is one of the owners along with his cousin Oscar. From the beginning, what stood out was how straightforward and reasonable everything felt. The labor rate was fair, the communication was clear, and instead of pushing one expensive path, Danny took the time to explain different options for replacement parts and what made sense financially. I live in Woodland Hills, and Sharp's is in Oxnard, so this was not exactly around the corner for me. But after that first experience, I felt comfortable enough making the trip because it already felt worth it. After that, I came back with my own 2016 Chevy Volt for an A/C issue. Since that car does not have a traditional belt-driven compressor setup, I knew it was going to take more than generic trial-and-error diagnosis. Danny was patient, methodical, and clearly willing to think through a problem instead of just throwing parts at it. The issue ended up getting solved efficiently, which was a huge relief. One other thing that really stuck with me while I was there: multiple people from the neighborhood stopped by just to say hello to the team at Sharp's. That kind of thing says a lot. You can tell this is one of those local businesses that people genuinely trust and feel connected to. It's not always easy to find a shop that feels honest, competent, fair, and genuinely helpful, but that was absolutely my experience here. I left feeling really grateful that we found them. Shops like this are getting harder and harder to find, and I'll be very happy to keep bringing our cars back to Sharp's, even if it means driving out from Woodland Hills. Highly recommended.
