Thank goodness for honest, local mechanics!…read more I had been calling around to different mechanics to find out which auto shop works with hybrid cars (I have a Toyota Prius). I eventually was directed to Mario's Garage and I'm so happy I found this place. As a woman, I'm always on high alert with mechanics taking advantage of me assuming I don't know anything about cars (tbh I don't lol). At Mario's Garage they were honest with me, charged me very reasonable prices, and were very understanding of any financial restraints I had. They spent extra time explaining to me what was going on with my car because I was honest about how little I know about cars. I walked out of there feeling like I could be a mechanic with all the knowledge they dropped on me...lol jk... but seriously I trust them wholeheartedly! Much love to Mario's Garage!!!

We first went to the local Toyota dealer and got hit with an estimate that was literally thousands more than what we ultimately ended up spending at Sharp's Auto Service. That's how I met Danny, who I later learned is one of the owners along with his cousin Oscar. From the beginning, what stood out was how straightforward and reasonable everything felt. The labor rate was fair, the communication was clear, and instead of pushing one expensive path, Danny took the time to explain different options for replacement parts and what made sense financially. I live in Woodland Hills, and Sharp's is in Oxnard, so this was not exactly around the corner for me. But after that first experience, I felt comfortable enough making the trip because it already felt worth it. After that, I came back with my own 2016 Chevy Volt for an A/C issue. Since that car does not have a traditional belt-driven compressor setup, I knew it was going to take more than generic trial-and-error diagnosis. Danny was patient, methodical, and clearly willing to think through a problem instead of just throwing parts at it. The issue ended up getting solved efficiently, which was a huge relief. One other thing that really stuck with me while I was there: multiple people from the neighborhood stopped by just to say hello to the team at Sharp's. That kind of thing says a lot. You can tell this is one of those local businesses that people genuinely trust and feel connected to. It's not always easy to find a shop that feels honest, competent, fair, and genuinely helpful, but that was absolutely my experience here. I left feeling really grateful that we found them. Shops like this are getting harder and harder to find, and I'll be very happy to keep bringing our cars back to Sharp's, even if it means driving out from Woodland Hills. Highly recommended.

I also looked around and got a few quotes from other shops just to see if the price was fair, and Williams Automotive ended up being the best price by far. They also let me know my transmission fluid was really dark, which honestly wasn't surprising since I had never changed it. I came back for that service and an oil change, and once again everything was done quickly and for a really good price. Everyone I've dealt with there has been friendly and helpful. The lady in the office is also super nice, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, I'm really happy with the service, price, turnaround time, and customer service. I usually take my cars to bigger chain shops, but after coming here, I'd much rather keep bringing them to Williams Automotive.

I brought my nearly new 2025 Toyota GR86 to Asian AutoTech of Ventura for a routine oil change. I…read moredid not report any suspension issues, unusual tire wear, noises, vibrations, or handling concerns. The car was driving perfectly fine, and I simply wanted basic maintenance performed. To my surprise, I left being told that my front struts were showing signs of leaking and that suspension repairs might be needed. Hearing that a nearly new vehicle may have suspension problems is concerning, especially when there were zero symptoms leading up to the visit. Wanting a second opinion, I took the car to a Toyota dealership for an inspection. After a full evaluation, the dealership found no leaking struts, no suspension defects, and no abnormalities requiring repair. That discrepancy raises an obvious question: how does a car go from allegedly needing suspension repairs at one shop to having a clean bill of health from a Toyota dealership? The GR86 is not your average commuter car, and its suspension setup is more specialized than what many general repair shops work with daily. In my case, the car is also not driven hard or abused. It's used normally, with no track use, no canyon driving habits, and no aggressive treatment that would reasonably point toward premature suspension wear. It's also worth noting that summer performance tires naturally wear faster than standard all-season tires, and can sometimes show uneven wear patterns due to the factory negative camber built into the suspension geometry. That alone is not necessarily an indicator of a mechanical issue. While I can't say exactly what led to the diagnosis, the experience left me questioning whether there was enough familiarity with this platform to accurately distinguish normal characteristics from actual mechanical issues. I understand that mistakes can happen in any shop. However, when a routine oil change turns into warnings of major repairs, especially on a nearly new vehicle that another inspection cannot confirm, it's hard to feel confident in the accuracy of those findings. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs. What should have been a simple oil change instead created unnecessary stress, wasted time, and a loss of trust in the inspection process.
