Came in to have them evaluate my truck exhaust. They said it didn't look too bad but my muffler had a hole in it. I told them to replace the exhaust system ($450). I asked if the new muffler would need a resonator which they said probably not. Well, it was loud and called a couple of days later to see if they could put a resonator AHEAD of the muffler (the correct configuration) for another $100. They said, "not a problem". Well, I they installed the resonator BEHIND the muffler. WHY CAN'T FOLKS DO THE WORK I PAID THEM FOR? I won't coming back. read more

I had an issue some sort of exhaust leak with my car (Audi A6). I took it to Sean and Eric and immediately knew I was in the right place. Another repeat customer was getting some custom work done and was sharing with me the attention to detail that they have and the pride in their work. They greeted me right away and took a look at my car even though I didn't have an appointment. They diagnosed my issue (failed flex down-tube from headers) then said if I could wait they would get to me within the hour. These guys run a clean shop and as I watched them work, I felt comfortable with my decision to have them do the work for me. The price was competitive and fair and felt like I got great deal. My car was making a very embarrassing rattling noise from the muffler. I went to Mercedes Benz and they said a spring had broke inside the exhaust system and it would be $800 to fix. My boyfriend said to leave and go to a muffler shop. We were told by a friend to go to Kenz. I can't tell you how wonderful the experience was. First off the shop is really nice. Grey outside and organized on the inside. You can see they have been in for a while by some of the mommentos. I believe it was the owner who helped me. I had an appointment for 10 am. My car was on the lift within minutes. He had found the problem and it was a bad spring. A simple fix he said. 20 minutes later the car was down and sounded brand new. Best part $50!!!!!!! I don't hand out 5 stars that often but you can see why they have a 5 star rating. I am soooo happy! read more

Needle in a haystack! Eric and the guys @ Kenz are fantastic! First time there; referred by a friend formerly in the auto repair business. My immediate impression was a surprise. Usually muffler shops are nasty, dirty, unkept and the guys working there aren't exactly customer service stars. Quite the opposite at Kenz. I was greeted upon arrival, Eric knew my name because he was aware of my appointment and the car I showed up in. Shop is clean and tidy, they wear clean business shirts and I took great appreciation and note how carefully and respectfully they treated the vehicles they were working on. Eric took the time to actually LISTEN to me and then made suggestions based on his observations of my exhaust concerns. I had immediate confidence in Kenz because you can tell right away these guys are professionals in experience and workmanship. Eric also examined the entire length of my Mustang Cobra's exhaust system, noting a small leak in the front passenger side due to a loose bolt, which he diagnosed by using his stethoscope. Being a life-long car enthusiast, I've been to 100's of shops and when you come across an exceptional one like Kenz, you take the time to compliment them and share the experience. And, even though I live a fair distance, I will have no issue and will gladly make the drive to go back to Kenz for any/all future exhaust system needs. The catalytic converter was stolen from my Honda Element abou 9:00 in the morning from the parking lot at the YMCA Right in front of the pool. These thieves are bold! Anyhow, I spoke to /visited about 6 garages and found a price range of $800-$4,000! i Chose to trust Kenz after checking reviews and talking with several garages. They were mid-price and I'm very pleased with the results. i was in and out in a day. The final price was $1678 ($1480 for catalytic converter and $198 for oxygen sensor damaged by thieves). They seemed confident vehicle would pass smog and the after market converter had a built in heat shield that would not cause problem in future. Time will tell. Very professional and very clean shop. I was not rushed off the phone by any means and was pleasantly surprised that I could come in the next day early in the morning. Once I got there I was able to pull my truck right in and they started working on it right away. They were waiting for me to get there! Very polite and willing to answer any questions you have. I will start this review off with the fact that Kenz was referred to me by a friend who has used them for years. He has never had any issue (until now), so since he is an expert I trusted his opinion and went to Kenz for my whole new exhaust system on my classic Bronco. At first the son was nice and helpful, he fabricated the system in a day and the work seemed be really good. I provided my own muffler and flanges, Kenz did all of the pipe fabrication/installation. Everything seemed fine. I then started to do some upgrades on the motor which required the removal of the headers, so the exhaust was disconnected. I now went to re-bolt us the system and nothing fit. Pipes were over an inch off, hitting the driveshaft, crooked. I thought that this must be strange, maybe the system was under some sort of pressure when installed and then being unbolted it relaxed. I did not know. I am not a welder. So I called up Kenz and made an appointment to bring the truck in. I drive from Moorpark, so this was a whole day excursion putting the truck on the trailer and going out there. I showed up to Kenz on time and the father son team was working on their new AC unit in the front window. Neither of them said "Hi" as I walked up, and the son seemed to be frustrated with his father who was telling him he needed to fabricate a new support. Who knows. Finally they came over to the trailer to take a look. The father was really insightful and very nice. He seemed to really appreciate my truck and the work I had put into it. The son on the other hand was in some pissed off mood. He spent 15 minutes under the truck huffing and puffing and complaining about it not lining up. (DUH THATS WHY I AM HERE AND MADE THE APPOINTMENT!!) After that time passed, the son finally said for me to put the truck on his lift. I told him as I did prior on the phone, That the truck did not run anymore since we had installed a new EFI system and I wasn't going to fire it until the exhaust was buttoned up. (side note: i have moved this truck by myself with a trailer to 3 other shops for work, paint, stereo, powder coat. All by myself) The son then threw another fit that the truck didn't run. I said I could back the trailer right to his lift and put it right on there myself. So I went ahead and got into position to put it on the lift before the son approached me in my truck with attitude again. "Can you do this!?!?" I said yes I could and finally I had to ask, "Why are you so upset right now?" I told him that he seemed to be really upset about something and was taking it out on me, THE PAYING CUSTOMER!!!! He immediately blew his lid.. and went off the deep-end. Freaking out about the truck not running (even though he was told in advance), about the steering not working (never was a problem before) and finally the work he had to do. I am a paying client I told him. I was going to pay him for his work, EVEN THOUGH it should have been warrantied because he work didn't last. And he still freaked out! He told me to strap up my truck and get it the "F*** out of here". I asked again, that he is refusing to do the work for a paying customer WHO was there for warranty work. And he still spewing insults went off the deep end. I strapped my truck down and wasted my entire day with that loser and his daddys shop. With service like this, this shop won't survive after daddy moves on. I have never in my life had such poor customer service. Ive never unprovoked had anyone react the way he did. Maybe he was mad at his father or who knows what. But now I have a half done job by a deab beat shop. I will NEVER bring these guys business or refer them. If i were you, avoid them. They obviously don't need your money. The shop was empty, no work being done, except for their precious AC unit. They obviously make plenty of money gouging their tenants who rent the rest of their building. Don't give them the time of day or the ability to rip you off. So many women praise them for being honest and helpful, when its obviously a scam to get more money from you. Beware! They WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY OR THEIR WORK!! PERIOD! SHAME ON YOU KENZ MUFFLER. I hope you have another son who will do a better job running this establishment! read more

He gave his recommendation on welding instead of using the pieces in the kit that came with my exhaust system. As a younger customer, these guys undermine you and feel as if they are superior. I had an exhaust cutout installed. Afterwards my car had an exhaust leak, and the cutouts were installed improperly. I called the shop afterwards to inform of an exhaust leak and was told it was my issue as they did their job "correctly." I decided to address the issue myself, I then found out they didn't use all the hardware to install the cutouts. Some of the gaskets, nuts, and bolts from the kit were missing which they kept for their own use. I contacted the manufacturer for extra hardware. I received the hardware, reinstalled the cutouts and the leak from the cutouts was gone. Overall, it was a bad experience as I paid a hefty price to have to deal with issues and have to reinstall part of the kit myself. read more
