I am a former Camarillo resident, and I now live in Las Vegas. I drove from Vegas to Camarillo on June 3, 2021. It was a hot trip crossing the desert and traffic was a mess. When I got to Camarillo my 2004 Honda Pilot was making a noise..... On Monday June 7th, I called TNT Automotive after reading several positive Yelp reviews. I had the good fortune of reaching Todd Harter, the business owner. I explained the situation and he told me to bring my Pilot in THAT DAY. I dropped her off for a diagnostic and heard back from Todd quickly. I needed a new power steering pump and ps fluid exchange. He gave me the quote for the job, I said Yes, please. I then received a call at 2:40pm to let me know the work was complete and I could pick up my Pilot. My friend dropped me off for pick up of my SUV. I paid and was on my way the SAME DAY. I hopped on the 101 to go to Simi a few hours later. My Pilot is back in great running order! It was SO NICE to find a great local mechanic and get a same day repair. I can't say enough good things about TODD and TNT AUTOMOTIVE...I would hate to leave anything out! The SERVICE is definitely above and beyond any I have received over all the years of having maintenance done on my car. The work has always been completed on the same day when I take it in for maintenance or repairs. I ran up and over a stupid curb recently that just "jumped right out in front of me" I felt comfortable enough to drive right to TNT to have it checked before getting home. I was afraid there might be a really big problem like a cracked axle or that one or more of my brand new tires were damaged. Todd came right out, checked over everything and then drove it around to see if anything was loose or out of alignment. In a previous visit, Todd had recommended that I change the engine mounts in my car (a 2011 Ford Focus with over 100,000 miles on it), since it was vibrating far too much and he warned that the vibration might lead to other problems. I set an appointment, and brought it in first thing in that morning. The parts were all ready and waiting. Todd offered to take me home(in Camarillo), and just pick me up when the car was ready. The car was done in about three hours. Todd called me at home, picked me up in my car to test it, then we went back to TNT to settle up. The cost was a third of what I would have had to pay in the dealership and the work was done in half the time and I had Todd as my courtesy shuttle. TNT is the best !!! read more

I came in to get a winding noise coming from my transmission checked. I wasn't told I'd be charged for anything yet and I wasn't given a quote. After 2 hours, they told me they didn't think it was the transmission and that I should bring it back the next day for further diagnosis, and they charged me $300. I brought it back the next day and had to rent a car for the day. They told me they'd call me to pick it up that day (Friday). I never received a call, and since they are closed on the weekends, I had to pay extra to keep my rental. When I picked up my car on Monday, they said they tried calling but they wrote my number down wrong. They should have at least reimbursed me for the rental for their mistake. I was told the noise is coming from the transmission but they had no idea what it was or how to fix it. So I spent $300 + the cost of the rental, to have my car in the exact same state with no information on what's wrong with it. read more

Short story: I came in for a simple oil change and was left with serious car issues I never had before Long story: I read the great reviews here on Yelp about this place so I decided to give them a try. I brought my car in for a simple oil change. I had such a pleasant experience here...at first. The next day I went out of town (~1.5 hr drive) and I noticed my car engine was having some small misfires. The car was jolting in a unnatural manner. On my drive back to town, my car was shaking and jolting terribly. My check engine light was flashing. I rode all the way home in the slow lane panicking and hoping I would make it back home safely. I brought the car in the next morning and had them take a look at the vehicle. I explained my terrible experience and was told that the engine is most likely misfiring. Did I mention that my car did not have any misfiring issues prior to the oil change? And I passed my smog test VERY recently as well. Anyway, I mentioned to the mechanic that maybe the problem had something to do with the oil change since I didn't have these issues before the oil change. I was told that they'll check the oil change job too, but mostly likely the issue is due to something else and events like these can "randomly happen". Later on after they looked at the car, they told me the issue is because one of my spark plugs is a different brand from the rest of them, and it's causing the misfiring that was happening with the vehicle. My spark plugs were all the same BEFORE I came to this shop. How is one spark plug mysteriously different AFTER a simple oil change? I had my spark plugs changed in January of last year. I bought them myself from Autozone and as you can see in the photo, I bought ALL 4 OF THE SAME SPARK PLUGS and to my knowledge, they hadn't been touched since. How does one spark plug all of a sudden become different after an oil change? Regardless, I paid the $159.98 to have all the spark plugs replaced since the car was no way fit to drive back home. After the work was done, I was told the car is "running like a champ". When I was going home from work that SAME DAY, I started to experience the same car shaking/jolting that I was experiencing before. And now my check engine light is back on. This has become such a headache! Now I'm hoping my car will make it to the weekend so that I can take it to my own trusted mechanic to undo whatever the heck went wrong. I really was looking forward to getting good service here, but unfortunately, I've lost ALL trust in this place. After reading several positive reviews about TNT, I called them and spoke with Todd about my 2005 Tahoe error code for the Evap system. Prior to calling I watched several youtube videos to see what was entailed in the whole troubleshooting process, and was glad to hear Todd mention all the steps that needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable and straight forward. I dropped off my Tahoe, left it overnight and it was ready by 11am. He verified my vapor vent solenoid functioned, inspected filler tube, amd found clogging in the fuel vapor canisters by the fuel tank. They replaced those parts, drive it around, took it to the gas station to ensure the handle would not consistently kick off, like it was doing 80% of everytime I fueled up. Quality of work was great. My only critique would be 3 hours passed after I dropped the car off with no word. He did say the shop had a few things to take care of before starting on my vehicle, but after 3 hrs, I called to follow up. The next morning though, Todd called me almost every hour to keep me updated on their findings and progress. I appreciate that. I definitely recommend TNT automotive and would go back for service. Hooefully its not too soon for the same error code. But even if it is, Todd told me there are a lot of components and possible causes for that evap system error. Todd at TNT thoroughly explained to me what was wrong with my AC system not working and the steps he and his mechanic will take to remedy the issue. Long story short, TNT was very busy that day with about 6 other cars ahead of me. I was able to drop off my truck at 9:30am and by 2pm, my truck was ready to pick up with AC blowing!! Most importantly, it was exceptional work without breaking the bank....especially during this COVID-19 pandemic where some shops that I've gotten quotes from try to haggle you. There are not enough good things to say. Todd has fixed my car twice now, and both times has proven himself to be honest, fair, and reasonably priced. My car gave transmission solenoid codes. Aamco told me I needed a complete rebuild and quoted a ballpark of $3800. Todd quoted a transmission replacement at $1800, but when he got in it and inspected, found chewed wiring. He could have fixed that, and charged me for the transmission--I would have been none the wiser, and I know mechanics who would have done just that. Todd did the right thing, checked before just leaping into an expensive fix, and only charged me for work actually done. Highly recommend!! read more

Todd at TNT did what he said he would on my 10 year old Ford. In a straight forward and deliberate way, he described the process he would follow and would call if there were any additional costs found along the way to get my okay to proceed. He checked my AC for leaks, found none, recharged the system, changed my oil and filter and rotated my tires. He also noticed my positive lead to the battery needed replaced, called me and did that as well. All done between 9:30 and 2 p.m at a very reasonable cost. So my wife's car was having problems starting thinking it's the battery but when I had it tested I was told it was the alternator. Do I called around for quotes to get it fixed I had called TNT Automotive and talked to a guy named Todd. I was getting quotes for $800.00. TODD quoted me much less than that, made An appt to bring wife's car there now you've got to hear this one! The mechanic there named Vince came into the office where I was sitting and asked me if anybody had done work on the car well we just changed the battery he said come with me he showed that the negative from the battery to the ground was not grounded correctly so he grounded it correctly for me & it fixed the problem. You know people he could have not said a damn word & just replaced the alternator but no they were up front honest it didn't cost a penny!!
