We purchased a used vehicle with a warranty, and within a couple of months we noticed an oil leak. We took the car to Paradise Chevrolet in Ventura, where we were told the leak was coming from a valve. Afterward, they informed us that the warranty would not cover the repair and quoted us $4,700. The warranty company, Risk Guard, sent an inspector but did not conduct a proper inspection, refused to provide anything in writing, and stated they would not cover the repair. We later discovered that Paradise Chevrolet had misrepresented the issue in an attempt to charge us significantly more. We then took the car to Erini, who was honest, professional, and thorough. He identified the real problem and repaired it for less than one-tenth of the dealership's quoted price. He also contacted Risk Guard on our behalf, despite them being rude, and handled everything professionally. We truly need more honest mechanics like Erini. I encountered the essence of honesty and integrity at 126 Wood Road in Camarillo when I met Petey. I arrived at the shop in a tow truck as a hot mess of stress because earlier my 2012 Nissan Sentra decided to violently shake on the freeway as the check engine light came on. I was on my way to pick up my daughter so I prayed for Jesus to "take the wheel" and miraculously, I made it home. I towed my car to a local Nissan dealer and they quoted me $3,400 (scam alert) so I contemplated buying a new car or fixing it. Then I was recommended to Petey so I figured what the heck I'll get a second opinion and that was the smartest decision I've made all year! If I could give more than 5 stars I would have given Peter and his whole staff as much as I could. Since moving from Sacramento to the Ventura county I was particularly critical about choosing a shop to take my Mercedes CLK55 for an oil change to. After doing some research, I had found Erini's Auto Care and checked the reviews here on Yelp and Google Reviews. I was astounded by the reviews and went ahead to schedule an appointment. I had first sent an email to just quote prices ahead of time. When Peter had quoted me the prices I was shocked- but in a great way! He had quoted lower price than a bunch of franchise shops and than some shops back home in Sacramento! I didn't hesitate after that. It was way too easy to schedule an appointment over the phone, and they were able to get me within a time crunch on a Saturday afternoon. Once I walked in Peter and his staff instantly acknowledge me as soon I walked past the door. Instantly took my information and keys and went to the shop in less than 5 mins. This oil change for this vehicle usually took a hour (give or take) at other shops I've taken it to. This time at Erini's Auto Care it took less than 45 minutes from me walking through the door to taking off their lot. The staff was friendly and was genuinely curious about my vehicle preferences, how often I service and maintain my car and recommend consistent improvements on how to maintain my vehicle. Peter already is looking out for me by already providing cheaper labor and new recommendations to properly maintain my vehicle. I've only been a customer for 45 minutes but the experience and the authenticity made me feel like a customer for a long time. I will be taking my vehicle for continued maintenance here at Erini's Auto Care over the course of my stay. read more
