I'm from out of town and me and my group was trying to look for a bar that was still open around 9. However, most stores here close by 6pm, I'm guessing the hours are because of Covid which was a bummer. So we ended up here at J's corner. The ambiance is very home like and simple and the service was friendly. Our server was very nice and attending to us. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo (been craving it for days), so I gave it a shot! I was not disappointed. The Alfredo was delicious, just wish the sauce wasn't so liquidy but other than that, the chicken was flavorful and the pasta was good! I'd order it again. I asked for lemon wedges on the side to give the pasta a lemony kick. It was very yummy! As for my dessert, I also ordered the chocolate snowball martini... SCRUMPTIOUS!!!! read more

Jace is a busy restaurant. I sat at the bar so that I could have dinner soon, and quickly noticed that just about everybody else at the bar was doing the same thing. We all seemed to be pretty happy with our dinners and the bartender did a great job for us. I had a beef stew and I thought it was great. Actually, most of the restaurant is 3-stars, not 4, but their chowder is truly excellent - far better than anywhere else nearby. This is a standard American fare restaurant for the most part - calling it a steakhouse is a push - but their clam chowder is amazingly good. The Reuben was OK, but not great. The grilled veggie sandwich not so good. The BLT was fine. The message you're getting here is one of inconsistent quality. The atmosphere is standard American restaurant supply - could be in a mall (though it's not). I'm a fan because of the clam chowder ... and though we didn't have them, the salads looked good, either with grilled steak or chicken. read more

It was good. We ate late that day and they were the only restaurant still open. I have a child with allergies and they accommodated them. The only thing is the have a sign that says "cider corner" but they only have Angry Orchard. There are at least two local cideries. read more

We stopped here on our trip through NE. After hearing it was going to be a 30 min wait, we almost left. So glad we did not! The food was delicious, the service was awesome, and we were greeted with an upbeat atmosphere. Such a great experience. Wished we lived closer so we could frequent this fabulous restaurant! This place is a great steakhouse for a small town in New Hampshire. I ordered a steak salad, and their soup du jour which was chicken noodle soup. Nothing interesting and amazing out of the food, but it did taste good. The soup tasted like it was from progresso and the salad was very simple (plain lettuce, salsa, cheese, +steak). We were visiting mount Washington auto road- stopped here for lunch. We ordered crispy chicken wrap that came with fries and cole slaw and southwest chicken salad- delicious, fresh and filling. Big portion, good food with decent price for a tourist place. We would eat here again! read more

First time in Gorham so we weren't sure what the food scene would be. Played safe with J's and as early bird seniors looking for both steak and seafood iwe did well here with the NY Strip ( rare, really!) and Fisherman's Stew, and a very passable French Onion soup-- not gruyere but decent mozzarella. Wait staff superb, adding to the relaxed, small town atmosphere. License plates from all over New England with the place full by 6 pm on an August Monday. For entertainment you can watch the dozens of ATV riders go by on the main drag. read more

I had the special "Fisherman's Stew" and it was nothing less than delicious! The seafood itself was cooked perfectly and all in the light olive oil red sauce was a perfect combination! We went to J's Corner a couple of Sundays ago with friends that are big fans of the place and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and the waiter was prompt and friendly. I stepped out and had the fish sandwich (which was great) while everyone else had the fish stew. It looked great and everyone enjoyed it, so I'll probably be trying that the next time we go. They had a great selection of beers and a casual, family atmosphere. It seems like a great place to go with kids, although my guess is they probably get crowded nights and weekends, since good places are few and far between in the North Country. read more

Long trip and driving through Gorham, we decided to find a local place to eat. We passed a buffet and asian spots and then noticed J's. No idea what it would be like we decided to pull in and give it a shot. We walked in and the place was pretty busy, a good sign. Casual atmosphere, friendly service. We ate there on 3 occasions since it was so close to our hotel and the food was always very good. I had an excellent burger, a very tasty grilled chicken sandwich, and a great dinner salad with grilled chicken. Kids had chicken fingers, Mac and cheese, kids pasta, and everything was great. Save your money. My family of five received a horrible meal at this place while we stayed the night next door at the Top Notch Inn (the front desk clerk referred us). The hostess seated us in the bar because they didn't have any tables in the main area that were clean. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer, which was okay; it had two kinds of tortilla chips and lots of cheese, olives and peppers. It took the waitress a while to bring the salsa and sour cream that tops it all. She brought the silverware quite a while after the nachos, and there were no napkins on the table. My husband and I had the teriyaki steak tips, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable (green beans) and some iced tea which tasted funny. The steak tips came on a soggy, blood-stained piece of toast and had a thick gravy and were rubbery. The potatoes had papery garlic peels mashed throughout and the green beans were oily. My kids had a greasy grilled cheese sandwich and mac n cheese, which was definitely the boxed type and was dry. The menu says you get refills but the waitress never bothered to come back to check on us. None of us bothered to finish our meals. Finally, she came back with the bill before we had even ordered dessert. I should have taken the bill and ran but my kids wanted a treat and I like to indulge them when we travel. We ordered the chocolate mousse cake, chocolate cream pie and carrot cake, which is all listed on the stained menu. The waitress rudely informed us that they no longer carry carrot cake, so we ordered the apple bloom. Both chocolate desserts had doughy crusts and the apple bloom was greasy and the apple wasn't peeled well. After dessert we it was very difficult to get the attention of the waitress to pay the bill which was about $100. Not worth the money, and Robert Irvine would have a field day re-doing this place. This is definitely a "greasy spoon" for a restaurant, and I would never go back. read more

We were driving across New Hampshire on Route 2, and where hungry by the time we got to Gorham. We know nothing about dining options in Gorham, and got very very lucky when we stopped here. Lots of options on the menu, very reasonably priced, and we loved the food we got. Haddock and Reuben sandwiches, fries, and cole slaw were all excellent. 100% chance we will stop here again when in the area. read more
