Lobster rolls
Rhiannon C.

First off the 4 hours that they're open is tough to catch. Second the portion size and quality of the food is so underwhelming. I ordered the summer salad for $12 with grilled chicken added for another $7. The chicken was half a thin sliced chicken breast. I also ordered the 2 lobster rolls with chips for $30. Chips were burnt and the lobster mix could have barely fit into one roll but they were thinly spread into two... all bread no meat. Won't be revisiting.

I stopped by on my way to Mexico ME and didn't want to goto McDonalds. They were moderately busy but the wait staff/bar tender didn't really seem interested in taking orders or following up. It was like going to fast food and getting a table number. The food was ok, nothing special. It was a solid meh in the end, nothing special really ambiance or anything.

Stir fry

My wife and I came in for dinner. We were greeted promptly and seated. Service was good, server was pleasant. I ordered the soup of the day. It was a soup chili..it was OK, definitely needed more seasoning. The 5 for Fries app was the best thing we ate, fries, beer cheese, chicken & bacon. It was really good! I ordered the Gorgon burger. Ordered it med rare and it was perfectly cooked. It has gorgonzola cheese, bacon, and a sweet relish. The flavor was just bland, considering so many different flavors on it. My wife ordered the stir fry, it was huge! She liked it. It's a warm cozy place, great after skiing. Food in my opinion just needs more seasoning.

Hunter's Pasta

They have changed their focus and now do not have pizza. However, we loved the items we got! My husband had the Chicken Pie and I had the Hunter Pasta. The Chicken Pie had a creamy chicken and vegetable mix with a fresh, big biscuit on top. My pasta had a light application of a creamy sauce with grilled asparagus and grilled chicken breast. There was also some pieces of hard salami in the mix which added to the hearty flavor. I would recommend both. Our server was polite and attentive. The atmosphere was pub like with a clean, modern feel. It was clean and in good condition.

Black bean sweet potato burger - amazing

Had a delicious but patience testing dinner here a few weeks back. Came across this restaurant here on yelp and the menu looked so good that we drove about 40 minutes to dine here. We got in a little before 6pm, just as it was starting to get busy, but luckily we got the table right away. Taste: 4.5/5 For appetizer we had the fries that had chicken and melted cheese on them. It was really good. We also had one of the special of the night- corn chowder soup for appetizer. It was phenomenal. It has to be one of the BEST corn chowders we have ever eaten. Just a note, they have their specials written near the pizza station, at a spot you can easily miss. So keep an eye out. We spotted it by chance and so glad that we did. For main, we shared the black bean sweet potato burger and it was AMAZING! The patty seems like it was fried, so that gave it such an amazing crust on the outside yet it was perfectly soft inside. The flavor was on point as well. Service: 2/5 Service was spotty, the guy never mentioned the specials they had. We accidentally saw them and ordered the soup and SO GLAD that we did! For most of the time we were there, he did not check on us even once. We waited for about an hour for our burger, but he not even once came by himself to let us know what was taking so long. We had to flag him down after about 45 minutes to ask about our order, for which he just shrugged and said it will be out soon. Wait times: 1/5 It was ridiculously long, we waited for about 25 minutes for our appetizer of fries and soup and a little over an hour for the Black Bean burger. The restaurant wasn't crazy busy, in the sense that about 80% of the tables were occupied but there was hardly anyone waiting to be seated. When we placed the order, we asked the server if he could give us a side salad instead of the fries that came with the burger, since we had already eaten fries for our appetizer. He said "absolutely" but never told us that they would end up charging us $4. We only came to know once we got the check. It literally was a tiny bowl of mixed greens, 2 pieces of cucumber and 3 cherry tomatoes. We did not even bother bringing it up as the server was a little grumpy and we were so done with our super long dinner that we just wanted to get out. The food overall is really good, I just hope they can work on their service, wait times and being upfront about extra charges and it would be a great place to eat at!

Came into the Public house on the way to Maine and it was an awesome stop! The Chicken Pot Pie and the Apple Fennel salad were amazing! The server, Keith, was super friendly while working alone.

Allegash & Trailer Park Sangría (which I sent back - absolutely undrinkable)

Seat Yourself Get yourself your own menu Wifi is not for guest use Had to ask to place an order Food was dropped and we were instructed "grab me if you need anything" - no check to see how things were. Sent my trailer park sangría back as it was absolutely undrinkable. It was still on the bill. Had to ask for a check. 2 drinks and 2 entrees - $54 We hike NH almost every week and since we live in NY we're always looking to stop for supper. We will absolutely never be back. I guess we like a little more service than the Public House offers.

I ordered the wings appetizer and they were very good. I also had the Almond Joy martini. Jakob was our waiter and both drinks and appetizer were served timely. He provided great service.

The Pie Hole - Italian sub, no green pepper - banana peppers instead!

As I was driving, I spotted a…read moregreen, white, and red pizza flag waving along the side of the road, and decided to turn around to grab some food at The Pie Hole. This casual pizza and sandwich shop is geared towards takeout with a spacious floor area, drink cooler, Cruisin' World arcade game, Big Buck Hunter Pro game, Dr. Dude pinball machine, Toy Taxi (skill crane for stuffed animal prizes), and two lawn chairs. There is nice masonry tables outside to enjoy your food. They offer traditional & specialty pizzas (10" & 16" pies), pizza slices (when available), hot & cold subs, paninis with Lays chips, Humpty Dumpty bagged chips, and Coke products in the cooler. I ordered a Reuben Panini ($10 plus tax) and a Slice of Pepperoni Pizza ($3 plus tax), which was heated up in the oven and brought out to me while I waited for the panini to be ready, 10 minutes later. The Pepperoni Pizza Slice was topped with right amount of red sauce, plenty of pepperoni slices and melted cheese on top of a firm soft thin crust. The Reuben Panini was cut in half and overflowing with grilled thin sliced deli corned beef, melted cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing between toasted rye bread. The panini was very tasty and I barely finished one half of the panini and saved the other half for a late night snack with the small bag of Lays potato chips.

Subs weren't available. Hours are variable (as is the delivery they claim is available). And the…read morepizza is the spat pizza I've ever had. Dominoes is significantly better. Only reason for second star is for being open on a Tuesday when no one else was.

I love trying something different, and Tartaglia's Pizza did not disappoint! On my recent visit, I…read moretried their special with red sauce, organic spinach, mozzarella blend, andouille sausage, roasted red onion, red potatoes, Grana Padano, maple syrup, and ricotta. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical about the potatoes and maple syrup at first, but somehow it all came together perfectly. Honestly, my biggest mistake was only ordering one! The pizza was absolutely amazing and definitely one of those pizzas you keep thinking about afterward. The place itself is small, cozy, and welcoming, with a really nice outdoor seating area. The staff was very friendly, but what I especially loved was listening to them interact with their customers. I overheard someone mention that they've been there for about 10 years, and you can tell they've built some wonderful relationships with the people who keep coming back. I loved hearing the staff ask customers about their families and catch up with them. You could tell from the conversations that they remember not only their regular customers, but their families too. That kind of personal connection is something you don't find everywhere. Between the incredible pizza and the welcoming, neighborhood feel, this was such a great find. I can't wait until I'm back in the area to see what special they come up with next. Next time, though, I'm definitely ordering more than one!

It was tasteless, burned on the bottom (and not just dark but tasted burned) and felt like it needed more of everything, except time in the oven. How can a pizza not be salty enough? No flavor in the sauce and the cheese was some sort of cheap low-moisture part-skim mozzarella imitation blend. The pizzas were SMALL despite having ordered 2 larges and to top it off, they were expensive for what we got. You spend over $40 and you expect larger pies. These were the same size as most smalls you get; can't imagine how small their smalls are. Overall a bad experience, a bad pizza, overpriced and tip suggestions starting at 20% smh. Should've gone to Chesleys right down the street. Much cheaper and much tastier.
