Absolutely delicious food! I also came on a night they had live music, which made this even more fun. It did take a while to get seated. Once I was able to get attention I was seated quickly and I was very pleased with the food. I ordered buffalo wings, fries, and a margarita. Each part of the meal was fantastic! This is a great spot! Big windows to brighten up the place, outdoor seating, live music. So many things to love! They have all different styles of beer, so I always recommend a flight so you can try a little of everything. The food is so/so, I had the falafel, it was good but you know when you're eating something and it's just missing....something? It needed a little oomph! Still good though!! So I go to a lot of breweries. I'm not sure what that says about my mental health, but it does make me qualified to pick out a few qualities of good ones. Or as qualified as anyone else on Yelp. (Which is to say, not qualified). One - this is not fine-dining, you're making barrels of rotten wheat. I want rustic fries, greasy servings and tattoos. You wanna haute your burger, I'm here for it, but you're not charging me $26 to huff wheat fumes while I eat it. Two - flights. This goes out to the Treehouses and Alchemists out there - you're not that good. Get off your high horse and let us indecisive drinkers live. Three - fun. The vibe should be chill, the servers kind of excited, maybe a little confused. Bonus points if the bartender takes every opportunity to describe how mosiac is different from citra and what everyone gets wrong about barleywines. All this to say: Big Day checks the boxes. It's a chill, homey place with a staff that is maybe a bit confused but seems happy to be there. Food is a bit schizophrenic and the beer is a bit one-note, but definitely a place I'd come back to. If you find yourself in the northern mountains of NH, this is a great stop. We visited on a Thursday night and we were seated immediately, even though the brewery was very busy. They were doing trivia that night, but we weren't participating so they sat us in a smaller and quieter part of the building. The main part of the brewery is a big open room. I got the hot maple burger to eat and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. My friend and I spent the rest of our trip talking about how that burger was the best thing we ate. I wish this place was closer to me but hopefully one day I'll be back in the area to go again. read more

We stopped by with our dog since we were told that there was outdoor dining available. Once there we found it was more like takeout, just you order and take it out back to a picnic table. We looked the beer selection over and didn't see anything we thought would be good. So, we decided to take a couple of burgers back to our RV. We tried the mushroom and Swiss cheese burger. They were great. They put a light horseradish sauce on them that was perfect. The fries were also delicious. The place looks new and trendy. The outdoor area lacks any real charm. Disappointed to leave this. The whole service experience was odd. Wife, mother in law, 1.5 year old, dog, myself staying down the road for first time. Walked down the historic train tracks and entered through the well lit welcoming back with lights. I walked in with mother in law to order a drank after we sat ourselves on the open back patio. Immediately asked "are you getting cans to go?" We remarked no we planned to have a draft, we are sitting outside with our dog and child. "Did someone seat you?" "No, we came in through the back." " oh you can't do that!!" By the bartender. Just odd. So we went to the empty hostess table 10 feet away, who awkwardly brought us to the same table outside we were already at, then waited to be served despite the place being empty and at the bar before. Put in a round of drinks and food, then waitress never returned after they arrived. Had manager flagged down to service and another round. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Saw another group come in the back way we did... hope they didn't get the same treatment. left our 20% and went elsewhere. Just an awkward service vibe overall, especially for a brewery. Mother in law is a waitress and sadly remarked it was one of the worst services. Two stars since the beer wasn't bad. Wrong dressing with the wings somehow on top of all. read more

Overall pretty good! Came in ~6pm on a Sunday for beer and food. They were fairly busy and my waitress apologized several times for "the wait" but I didn't think it was egregious. Started with a flight of beers, which is four 5 oz pours for $16, which is on the pricey side but not unreasonable. The Gravity Quest NEIPA was solid, as was the Cran Dimensional. Swirl Porter was pretty good but a little vanilla forward for my liking. The black IPA I didn't really know what to make of. Malty, a little hoppy, but not like an IPA. Idk, it was fine. For food, I got the hot maple burger. Not sure why "hot" is in the name because it's not spicy and of course it's warm because it's a burger. Overall, the burger tasted good but some individual parts were subpar. The patty was overcooked, the crispy onions on the burger weren't hot, and the tomato was really underripe. I substituted friends for the chips and the fries were decent. Thing and crispy, which I like, but these were also not particularly hot, which is what you should expect if you wait a while for food and they're presumably freshly made. Overall, 3.5/5 (I rounded up since Yelp doesn't do 0.5s). A little overpriced for the quality but if you know what to expect, it's not necessarily disappointing. About what I'd expect in a touristy place that doesn't need to be excellent. Parking is plentiful and service was good. read more

Stopped by this small local Brewery on the way back to ct after staying a long weekend in Bartlett. Super chill spot that I would love to go back on a Friday or Saturday night for some games or food truck yummies. This was probably some of the better beer in the area. I was able to try multiple flavors as well as a beer slushy. That was something I've never had the pleasure of trying at any of the many brewery visits in my lifetime. The ambiance super cool indoor outdoor seating, as well as a lot of board games and foosball cornhole, just an overall chill place to grab a beer and watch a game. We stopped in on a holiday, which was a Monday and it was rather slow so we got a great experience with the gentleman pouring beers. I got to chat with him a little bit find out more about the beers and the area. Looking forward to another visit this fall/winter. I would definitely recommend stopping in Weather local, new to the area, or just drove four hours to visit the area and need a quick break to stretch your legs. I ordered something and he corrected my pronunciation of the item; the item is pronounced slightly differently depending on what region you are from. And my pronunciation was of the country of origin. We waited an extremely long time to receive our check, and weren't given the chance to get a second round of drinks. I'm pretty laid back with a lot of things, but I was very put off when the employees put the salt & pepper shakers and ketchup bottles on chairs when cleaning other tables. hey guys, it's the seacoast food blogger bringing you another "no go" for eateries in Northern NH. this fairly new establishment in Gorham NH had the opportunity to be a great meal stop but missed the mark on so many levels. note this place has no diet or non-sugar sodas for those who are diabetic, order a unsweetened ice tea, there is no sweetener in the whole place, unless you want sugar, it's in abundance here. Ask the bartender about the beers, well that's an issue as he doesn't know because he doesn't drink, a strange issue for a brewery. now the food. Bar food at best, but still not great for bar food. so disappointing, as this could have been so much better. chef, please try your food before you serve it, you might find it's not good. the French fries, are a top winner. Service, fell flat on it's face, with our server apologizing for sub par service. I gave her 20% but should have been 2%. not returning here for another try. wish you guys luck. read more

Did I it 5 stars because it is just about the only place open on a Sunday evening in the area ? (This is a serious dilemma folks) No, I gave it 5 stars because the food was creative and yummy. Many Breweries have food as an afterthought, but Big Day Brewery knew that any beer deserves a good food pairing. I was filled with joy when there was more than one option on the menu that I really wanted to try. My trails compadre, more of a carnivore than I also loved his food. This growler was not mine, but deserved some screen time here. Even if it was the only horse on town, I can attest that every one of the 20 or so random trail workers who made their way here will advocate for Big Day after a Big Hike or Big trail day. What an incredibly hip, earthy yet vibrant venue. Helpful staff and good service. Was able to get a flight to sample the menu. Ordered the soft pretzels with a delicious honey mustard sauce. I ordered the Sorta Greek flatbread (which I wish had more feta and white balsamic reduction... was somewhat bland); my son ordered the Hot Maple burger (which he said "slapped"...code for my teen loves this!); and my husband ordered the Black and Bleu burger, which he loved. Perfectly cooked burger, the french fried onions devine (I normally don't eat onions), bacon and sharp cheddar cheese and topped with the most sinfully delicious hot maple syrup sauce slathered all over everything. This burger is the one to beat from here on out. And you will be sure I am going to be trying to replicate this sauce! And the beer was pretty freaking amazing as well. Had the Swirl Porter. Quick seating on a Saturday afternoon, outside and inside options were available. Good service, good food, good beer.

First the good: The beer here is excellent, and they make a wide range of styles. They have an excellent Hefeweizen, one of my summer favs seldom seen in US. They do both lagers (including a Vienna) and ales. All that I tried were excellent examples of their styles. Of course they have the ubiquitous overwrought IPAs as well. So, good beer and something for everyone. Also good: Very pleasant servers. Varying degrees of experience here, but all are very welcoming. Okay, now for the food: It's really bad! The menu is misguided, doing a bad job with Asian influenced items like bahn mi rather than doing a good job with...... anything at all. The most bland and tasteless fish sandwich I've ever experienced. The smashburger was simply a frozen puck with none of the tattered edges, intense browning, or flavor of an actual smash burger. The unripe commercial tomato and hunks of iceberg lettuce didn't help that sad burger. Wings? How can you go wrong? They do go wrong here! Buffalo wings: easy! Fried wings with a mix of hot sauce and butter, right? Not here! They're kinda dry with a weird dark color. "Flatbreads"? Call them what they are: frozen pizzas. All of their food comes straight from a national frozen food distributor, is prepared without thought or care, and is overall just a step above cafeteria fodder. Go here for the beer for sure. Maybe have fries or mediocre wings, but if you care about food, plan on eating elsewhere. read more

A nice place which looks quite new. I had the Black and Bleu Burger (at least that's how I remember the name). It was a 'smash' burger, so unfortunately no option for how you want it cooked. I do love caramelized onions and I don't feel these were particularly good. The burger as a whole was good but I think the fries were better and what pulls the meal up from an average '3' to a 4. I wanted a soft pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. But this was a brewery... and they only offered a set of three pretzels with spicy mustard. NO BEER CHEESE. Ahem. Let me say that again. A brewery that has pretzels, but no beer cheese. So, the ambiance on a holiday weekend, early afternoon was one of chaos; a cacophony of little children's shouted wishes and desires, as a number of big tables of families were all there at once, and everyone in the place needed to yell over the music playing too loudly "in the background." We were a table of two adults, and had to resort to texting each other to communicate. Staff tried hard to please, but it seemed like the kitchen must have been slammed. Service was dreadfully slow. The fries were delightful, but the Rail Trail smashburger ($16) was disappointingly mushy, drippy and underseasoned. The bun gave up and disintegrated before I was done taking bites, because of the liquid dripping from the flavorless, textureless burger. The waitress was pretty efficient at delivering the bill. My dining partner said the hype of the CABOT Vermont (we were in NH) cheese in the menu description of the sandwich he ordered was the only hint that he got that there was even any cheese IN that sandwich. He was as disappointed with his Hot Maple sandwich ($18) as much as I was with my Rail Trail choice. We were on the road, and each only drank three dollar cans of seltzers water. read more

Aimée and I spent New Years climbing Mt Washington - well, attempted. Weather warmed up and we couldn't get to the top ... but as consolation we spent NYE at Big Day. Our visit was covered by Kelly and Christian as a wedding present ... and did not disappoint! Aimée had two orders of the Brussel Sprouts, and we shared the Poutine, which not only had deep fried cheese curds, but also a terrific horseradish sauce. The chili was delicious; it's spicy, so make sure you're ready for that. I am not a fan of IPAs, which there are many on tap. I did have their lager which was excellent.
