My food was just ok - but it's hard to truly impress me with Italian food at restaurants. My only complaint was that we waited a LONG time for our meals. We were watching all of the people around us who sat after us get served their appetizers and meals while we were waiting for our food. We waited for about an hour before we flagged down our waiter to tell him. He was upset on our behalf and went to the back to tell them to expedite our food. Interestingly, our food came out not even 5 minutes later. We arrived at the restaurant at around 1:30 and didn't leave until about between 3-3:30. I was a little bummed that what was supposed to be a quick meal before we went back out on the trails, took us a long time. We purposefully didn't order appetizers or entrees because we wanted to be in and out. Even with the long wait, we would probably go back to Moat Mountain because my boyfriend loved his food so much. They source their organic grain from Maine and New York and distill and age small batches on-site. I did a flight of their bottled-in-bond bourbon, wheated bourbon, and rye, cask strength bourbon, and maple liqueur. I usually like wheated bourbons, but enjoyed their regular bourbon and rye the best. It was an impressive operation with friendly staff. Cathedral is only five years old, so everything had a four year age statement, but they told me they are stashing barrels for older aged whiskeys. They are also looking to expand into single malts. We ordered the Ribs, Potato Canoes, Cheese Trail Sticks, and Paradise Chocolate Cake. And what can we say? Everything was absolutely delicious! The ribs were incredibly tender -- the meat practically fell right off the bone! The loaded Potato Canoes were amazing, and the Cheese Trail Sticks were perfectly gooey and oh-so-cheeeezy!
