This review is tough to write. I've heard so many people tell me how much they love this place...I just didn't. It's a cute place inside - exposed beam, warm decor and inviting space. A small bar as you enter that was full when we came in. We sat at a small table in the bar area. Everyone was very nice and our waitress was attentive enough - but she seemed a bit busy. But all was fine service wise. So....the food. It's weird. Like trying too hard to be different but just didn't hit the mark for me. I see bread on a menu and I get excited! So immediately I ordered the Parmesan bread with dill pickle butter. The bread was warm and I enjoyed it but the butter with dill pickle just didn't work for me. Lots of other things to me could have complemented the bread better. Then we order the lettuce wraps, they were ok. My friend ordered the duck and I tried it and we both really liked it! The vegetables were good! My sirloin....the steak itself was good despite being a tad overcooked for medium rare. Something on the plate had a curry flavor - it just didn't all go together well. Then the lemon ricotta cheesecake....we didn't taste any lemon, it was thick and weirdly dry for a cheesecake. It also had freeze dried something on top....we actually weren't sure what. Some bright spots - the food quality! You can tell that these are top notch high quality ingredients, and the cocktails! They were yummy! I just don't like the weird combos and what (to me) feels like being weird for the sake of being different versus just being good. Since I only come up here a few times a season I likely will go to our other favorites or try new spots. read more

Finding great food near Bartlett and North Conway isn't that easy. Luckily every time we've been to this place, the dinners have been wonderful. We always make a reservation, because the place is always busy. We started with the "Sautéed Fiddleheads; a day-of special; due to the chef picking some that were growing outside of his apartment. This was such a treat. The Parmesan Bread was ok. More like Texas Toast, found in the supermarket. My wife's Ricotta Basil Gnocchi with Scallops (+16) was a great way to keep out the chilly mountain air. My Ancho & Garlic Grilled Pork Chop was tender, and went well with the salty Garlic/Thyme Hash Browns That entree was huge, and we took about half of it home (Made A Good Snack) We passed on dessert, since we had them all before in past visits. Our server Emma, was very outgoing, and excited for meal choices. There are only about 4 or 5 great restaurants, in the area. This is one of them ! read more

We were seated outside but it had heaters so it was nice. The ambiance really was warm. The service was actually really fast for our food. I got the steak and parm bread it was really good. The pickle butter in the parm bread was exceptional and the steak was peppery with a good sauce on the side salad. 4 because of lack of options but overall really good reccomend. Our first time here. Our innkeeper recommended. Let me just say it was amazing! We sat outside, lovely patio and gorgeous weather. We both had the Cidertini to start, of course we had to get something with cider in it, and it did not disappoint. We got the littleneck appetizer, and it was so good! The clams were so fresh; they tasted like the ocean. The sauce and herbs added so many layers of flavors, it really was incredible. For our entrees, my husband got the bouillabaisse, the broth was very flavorful. I got the double duck and the duck was cooked perfectly, and the seasoning and cook on the skin was ridiculously good! Of course we had to end with the apple cider donuts. The caramel was very tasty and the donuts were delicious. All in all one of the best meals we have had in NH, and we have been coming since we were both children. We will definitely be back! read more

Recommended, very comfortable setting and great entrees. Our server was so nice, I wish I could remember her name to mention here. The chef prepared the salmon and the cacciatore just right, with proper spicing. Excellent drinks as well... my Bulleit manhattan was super, and my wife's wine was explained to her effectively. After a being terribly ignored at the Wentworth Lounge we ended up here for dinner. It was fate! Great experience all around. Food was fantastic. The stuffed dates (four so you could actually equally share it!) were very tasty. The charcuterie board was well stocked and yummy. Salads very very tasty as well with great dressings. We shared the RibEye special which was soooo good with a chimchurri sauce on top that should be jarred. Just a great meal at every turn. P.S. Food was so good I only got a shot of this salad lol. Very cute store. The deli was delicious. I selected the Bhan Mi which had a perfectly toasted ciabatta bread, nice slab of pot roast, and pickles to brighten up meal. There was a little kick which was pleasant. My friend ordered the thanksgiving dinner sandwhich that had ample amounts of turkey with a nice layer of crandberry sauce and stuffing. His description was "this tastes like next day leftovers" which is the best type of left overs. The store was kind of small with limited selection. Lots of soup and dinners. Not much for raw ingredients. Staff was extremely friendly. Will go again. read more

We've been coming to White Mountain Cider Co for years and never leave disappointed. The service is amazing (we had Jeremiah this time and he was awesome), the menu rotates and they seemingly always hit home runs with their dishes, and the cocktails are incredible. It's a cozy restaurant and we always make it a point to eat here once per trip. Always, always, always make a reservation beforehand as we've never had luck walking in and finding a table because it is so popular. Definitely recommend this place! read more

We were so looking forward to trying this restaurant after reading all the reviews so my experience was a bit let down from my high expectations. Here are the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: The Good- + Great atmosphere, rustic and cozy with a nice real wood fireplace in the middle of the restaurant for ambience. + Yummy cocktails and special drinks, reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our cidertini and Brandy Alexander. They also have a good selection of local beer and ciders on draft and bottles/can. + Prompt seating and tentative servers. + The Calamari appetizer was delicious, crispy fried with picked slaw and fresh greens and Sriracha mayonnaise sauce. + Kid friendly - they don't have an official children's menu but they offer pasta dishes that are better than your typical kid's menu. We ordered pasta Alfredo with sausage for my son, it was so delicious (maybe the best entree from our dinner experience... I'll get into that later). The Bad- - Pice... Yes, I was aware ahead of time that this would be an expensive experience, but $42 for 4 pieces of seared scallop with white beans was a bit much for me. Granted it was well seasoned and cooked, I would expect it to have bigger portion or came with garlic bread or something else. - I love Asian dishes, so when I saw that they had a ramen special AND a Thai noodle on the regular menu, I thought to myself that these people are confident with Asian cuisine so I can feel good about ordering... I WAS WRONG. My Thai curry pork noodle was mediocre at best. Yes, the pulled pork was tender and flavorful, but that's about it. The egg noodle in the dish was very one demensional, doesn't have great texture and didn't absorb the sauce well. The Thai sauce needed a kick or spice. The price wasn't bad but the dish was not good. I was disappointed for sure. The Ugly- - It's true I'm a ramen snob. I love my ramen and when I see ramen on the menu, you bet I will be ordering it! Unfortunately for this miso beef ramen dish with kimchi on the menu, it was a huge miss. I'm totally open to new flavor or interpretation of the classic if you can make it delicious, but to my dismay, this is not the case. First of all, there's not much of a soup base and it doesn't taste much like miso, a bit too sweet too. There wasn't much beef in the dish; it was good, but nothing to rave about. They used the same noodle in my Thai noodle dish as the "ramen". Clearly they did not understand what kind of noodles qualifies as ramen! Ramen noodles need to be thinner to be able to pickup the flavor of the soup base and have chewy texture to give that satisfying feeling of meal in a bowl... None of that here. - Perhaps the biggest offense here is the "kimchi" advertised on the dish. We asked for it on the side because the ramen was for my daughter and she doesn't do spicy. To call it "kimchi" was false advertising... It's more of pickle vegetables, without chilli flavor, no fish sauce, no napa cabbage. It was okay, but not kimchi. We may just got the 2 wrong things on the menu, given the popularity of this place, I'm sure they have other delicious food. Unfortunately for us, our experience were not the best. If you do come, I recommend staying away from their Asian fusion dishes. read more

Outstanding. One of the best dining experiences I have had in awhile. They have a patio seating area with heaters which is where we sat. Staff were friendly and accommodating. If you are in the area do not miss this. To start we got the korma soup which had a nice velvety textures and fantastic flavor. Poutine with ramps and fiddleheads was great. For entrees we did the gnocchi and pastrami spiced duck.duck was tender and flavorful and the gnocchi pillowy. For dessert the deconstructed s'mores with a chocolate cake was outstanding. We happened to go,here on a whim but would definitely add this to the itinerary when we are back in the area. read more

Let me tell you this restaurant from the outside is nothing to write home about, but the food made up for it. This place is a hidden gem. I was referred here by a previous customer from another state. I wanted something a little more high end for my 61st birthday. You can't get in without a reservation, so make sure to do so. We Had dinner for the first time tonight at this restaurant, had the warm potato rolls, with honey butter, and amazing truffle fries. Cocktails were delicious, I usually have one password to lemon, drop, martinis. Absolutely amazing food, braised short ribs, fingerling potatoes, carrots. My husband had the boneless ribeye that was cooked perfect. Dessert was the cider doughnut with vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce. Definitely worth the money. The most perfect breakfast sandwich I've ever had! The freshest ingredients and the eggs were prepared & seasoned absolutely perfectly. I had the bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. Come hungry as the portions were large. Both the hot cider & coffee were excellent. Sad we are only passing through town as they also had lots of prepared meals, soups and desserts to take home. I hate to give a small local place a bad review but based off of lunch and the market this spot is not worth the drive. I cannot rate based off of Dinner, perhaps that is not worth visiting for. We drove 40 minutes out of our way for stale pastries. Unfortunately upon arrival to this market for a late lunch we came to realize they were no longer serving any of their short list of sandwiches. Initially we thought "no problem" as there was sure to be some ready to go snacks and cider. After all, we had driven all this way for some great apple cider to bring home. Lunch was just going to be a conveniently timed perk. Unfortunately for us, there was no to go cider on the premises. The only cider option was a cup of hot cider. There were also no snack options. The market consisted of a random assortment of beer, frozen local food, Knickknacks, and branded gear. Our only option was a selection of pastries. Stopped by at their marketplace during lunch hours to grab some warm apple cider and donuts before hitting the road. The hot mulled apple cider was $4.50 for a 16 oz cup and each donut was $1.25 (or buy a dozen for $10). The cider was super fragrant and the donuts still had a crisp to them from being fried. The market is a mix of a bakery and store. They have fresh pastries and refrigerated goodies but also other items such as kitchen towels, honey, maple syrup, candles, lotion, etc. to purchase. There are stickers on the floor to indicate social distancing. You enter from the front and exit at the side of the building. There's no indoor seating inside the market, but there are 5 large tables outside. read more

Have passed by this place dozens of times and even stopped in once for the cider and donuts without even considering a dinner there. Our loss...until now. The restaurant has a cozy, neighborhood feel to it, though our preference was the bar area vs. one of the smallish dining rooms. We didn't eat on the patio, but it is covered, with heaters installed overhead, and would have definitely been an option on a warmer night. Service was extremely attentive and professional, yet casual - just our style. As for the food, there are plenty of options, from snackable bites to complex but approachable appetizers to a range of expertly prepared entrees for all diets. While we enjoyed our starters, my wife was blown away by the somewhat deconstructed braised lamb bolognese, which she is still raving about two days later. The noodles were delicate and the sauce uncharacteristically light for a bolognese while still packing all of the flavor you'd expect from that dish. My duck was outstanding as well. We usually order dessert at a new spot just to make sure we kick all four tires. Had to go with cider donuts at a cider place, and they were killer! Of course, the pairing with smooth, rich vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce didn't hurt. Definitely looking forward to kicking the tires here again soon. read more

We visit Jackson every summer. My husband loves this place. He thinks the cider donuts are just sweet enough. The donuts are good but bland, but I have a huge sweet tooth. Today we ordered 2 dozen cider donuts and two blueberry muffins. When we got home, we only had one blueberry muffin. The muffin itself was a good size, lots of blueberries, but no blueberry flavor, bland, not very sweet. My brother in law ordered a 2 iced coffees and another bakery item. Skim milk wasn't offered which was disappointing. We spent $50 dollars left a tip and realized the coffee orders were messed up. This isn't the first time they messed up an order but we usually stop on our way home from Jackson. I'm thinking today was our last visit. read more

Wow, this was a recommendation for us while staying at the Mt Attatash Resort...and it's worth it. The bread, reminds me of the St John's momentary bread I'd get at the MN Renaissance Festival. Full of grain, hearty, a crisp crust that just begs for a bit of butter to compliment it. The soup: a butternut squash & apple cider purée with a mulling spice cream and crisped sage. The sweetness of the squash offset with the tart of the cider, a smooth bite from the cream and the sage adds a nice pop to all the flavors. Appetizer: phyllo (noodle) dough wrapped house made crab cake patty and fried lightly in hot oil to crisp it. Drizzled with an apple cider reduction. A beautiful taste and texture experience. The crab was light in flavor, soft and offset with the crunch of the noodles which kept the patty from being oily. The cider reduction adding a tart note...mmmm.
