I think maybe we were there on an off night. Took forever to get served and our waitress didn't even work there - she was the mother of an employee, apparently just in to help out. We sat out back on the patio, next to the water. That was really great. The drinks were fine, though we were served a random extra iced tea for no reason. My kids liked their food - acceptable versions of their standby choices. My partner's pizza was fine - not really a standout thing. I got the chicken parm, having read a couple rave reviews on here for it. But it really wasn't anything special either to be honest. So.. yeah, the river view was the best part. In Gorham NH. Placed order over phone for pick up.(on vacation) Chicken tenders, potato wedges, chicken wings and sandwich. Was told 25 minutes. Waited 30 minutes being Friday night. Got there and was told be just another minute. While waiting I took a look at their menu on the counter. Wedges said loaded (did not say that on line) Told waitress needed them plain. Husband can't have cheese. She went in the back and said they were just starting them so caught them in time. Great or so I thought. Ended up sitting and waiting for over an hour for my food from time I ordered. And I wasn't the only one. Got back to room opened containers to eat and potatoes were raw(looked boiled) wings burnt and covered in pepper. Tenders had a nasty taste like bad oil or something. Was a HUGE waste of our money. All I could eat was sandwich. Husband couldn't eat any of it. Would definitely not recommend. In all of our travels over the years this was by far the worst meal to date. read more

For the limited choices in the mountains and restaurants that hold patrons hostage as they are often hungry AF this was everything and beyond my expectations. Entered the bar area. The bartender was carrying in a great smelling tray of made in house chicken fingers and pizza. She yielded to us but I motioned her along and enjoyed ogling the vittles. I asked about what she recommended and it sounded like most everything was pretty good, but said the chicken fingers were epic and the pizza were go tos. I ordered the chicken fingers with the spiciest hot sauce and blue cheese on the side. They were some of the best chicken fingers I've eaten in NH, hot, moist inside great fry and a crunchy batter. I'm a big fan of the ones at Smuttynose brewing on the Seacoast. I think the Puritan is overrated! Had a couple drinks and ordered a pizza to go. Food was awful. Service was no better. Saturday, October 4 and we just left Mr. Pizza in Gorham, NH after having lunch there. Just. Plain. Awful. We waited 50 minutes for our food. When we asked if it might be coming out soon, we were told the hold up was due to a party of 16. However, the place wasn't packed, so it leads me to believe they understaffed the place. While waiting for the order, we were being dive bombed by flies. When the "food" finally arrived it was not good. Not good at all. My buddy and I ordered the fried haddock filet. The fish product, for it did not taste much like fish, did not cover the hamburger roll it was on. The roll also had some wilted, shredded lettuce. To summarize, what tasted and looked like an old school fish stick, cooked in old, dirty oil on a small-ish hamburger roll with wikted, shredded lettuce. Not good. Another person at our table got chicken fingers that were most definitely fried in old fry oil. The onion rings were dark and very oily. The last person at the table got the pastrami. It was just horrible. After waiting for bill, we had just about enough and i waled up to the bar and asked for the bill. I don't complan a lot about bad food or service, becauw we all have bad days. But this was particularly awful. I asked for the manager and the bartender said, "that's me." I proceeded to tell her about the terrible experience and her response was, "well, I haven't heard that today." When i told her the restaurant had flies that were landing on us and bouncing off us, her response was, "I can't do anything about nature." So even the manager could have cared less. I suppose the restaurant's cukture flows from the too down. If the manager doesn't care about customers, why should the rest of the crew? I ended up leaving a small tip of 10% on a $97 bill. And thatbis no alcohol! 3 diet cokes and a water. I don't know why I left a tip at all, I guess I just didn't want to be a jerk. But i may have just encouraged lousy behavior. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this restaurant. Instead, go across the street to the Dollar Store, get yourself a box of Poptarts and a drink for $5. You'll be glad tou did. read more

I've always been pleased with what I order, particularly fresh fish and wonderful pizzas. It's nice when you can sit outside, but looking at the Androscoggin River is also nice. The waitstaff is very pleasant about diners who want to share desserts. We're lucky to have a good reliable restaurant near to where we live. Not a lot of options in the small town but we made a bee line to Mr. Pizza when we saw there was a dine in option and it was freezing outside. I actually really liked the decor; it was warm and very inviting and made you feel welcomed, as was the service. The food was what disappointed me. My boyfriend ordered the steak and chicken and it came oddly with something like cranberry sauce and some gray peas that looked like they were dumped out of a can. I ordered the chicken parmesan and while both my boyfriend's chicken and mine were fried really well, there was no flavor to it. Usually restaurants tend to over salt chicken parm dishes, but mine tasted like it had no seasoning whatsoever. The spaghetti was way overdone, mushy and the sauce tasted like it was from a can as well. Again, while I didn't enjoy the food, the service was nice. read more

If you are not aware and you pay cash you are getting that 3% on your total bill. That is probably 3% off the servers tip as well, I don't know, but it definitely not Mr Pizza like I loved before. There was more onion rings than there was haddock with a small serving of coleslaw for $24. I had a 10" pizza that was okay but was overcooked, probably because they were waiting for his meal. We've been 4 times since they reopened and the food is still poor after working through opening kinks. We've gotten chicken Cesar salad without the chicken only to get an under cooked piece of shredded chicken after the meal was over. An order of clams and fries on an appetizer sized plate with exactly 6 clams. Two undercooked pizzas that actually look good until you bite into them and taste the dough and an order of fish and chips that came out as a few nuggets without and chunks or fillets. Overall, the place is disappointing because the owners run a decent restaurant over the border in Maine and they could put more effort into this location. I have had many pizzas in many places, but Mr. Pizza makes their own bbq sauce that isn't too sweet, isn't tangy, isn't spicy, but it is absolute perfection! I ordered the hand made thin/crispy crust and asked as I always do for it to be well done. And Well Done it was! The perfect amount of a blend of cheeses, cut up carmelized onions - so no stringy mess, very generous with the shredded chicken and just the right amount of that amazing bbq sauce. After careful consideration, I must say that this was truly the absolute best BBQ Chicken Pizza I have ever had. The service was not only efficient but pleasant and excellent. We came here as a recommendation from a local business. We wanted to sit outside and it seemed like the waiter didn't really want to do that so she told us that the sun would be hitting us too much and she wanted to sit us inside? --- ok what ever. We set down got our drinks ordered our food. And just couldn't get her attention after that. We got served by another waiter more than by our own. My kids needed ketchup and refills and I was about to get them myself. If it wasn't for the other waiter paying attention to her tables and others we wouldn't have been served. Food came it was good. Big portions But lacked a little more flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy was very blend. Tasted like something I would order at the hospital after surgery. We boxed all our food.
