This place is a gem. Stayed at the Mountain View Resort for 4 days and came here everyday! Love this place. Great service, affordable, fresh hot coffee, breakfasts are the best!

We had an absolutely delightful visit to Grandma's Kitchen! The new owners, who also run Munroe's in Twin Mountain, have truly breathed new life into this charming spot. The refreshed decor and expanded menu are wonderful. The service was so friendly, and I loved the variety on the kids menu, including the adorable moose-shaped pancake. Our notoriously picky two-year-old surprised us by devouring most of my husband's corned beef hash--such a testament to how tasty the food is! The Bloody Mary was perfect and packed a punch. I had the eggs Benedict with pulled pork, and it was both creative and delicious. Highly recommend this lovely place!

Super friendly service. Accommodated our tricky kids and requests. Menu is good ol fashioned offerings - decent fare.

This restaurant never disappoints. New owners who have maintained the integrity of previous food and menu. We both had the farmers favorite; which consisted of 2 eggs, e 8"pancakes, 3 slices of thick bacon, 2 slices of homemade wheat toast and a choice of side, which we chose the fresh fruit cup. They also had a side of homefries or baked beans. All were cooked to perfection.

Outstanding diner in upper New Hampshire. The food is scratch made and very good. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Can't miss with anything on the menu.

We went in early and ordered steak tip hash, 3 chocolate pancake stack, with some bacon on the side and drank coffee and apple juice. It was an awesome meal and server was very friendly. Menu was filled with lots of things we wanted to try! Someone said it was cash only, but they do accept credit!

Let me start off by saying our waitress was great. We went on a Sunday and it was super busy so we knew we would need to wait awhile. That wasn't the issue. It is definitely not the old grandmas kitchen. We loved it there for years. Their tartar sauce was not good at all and that was partly the reason I used to go there. We had also order a round of soup and our tomato soup was more like a very very salty marinara. We let the waitress know that it was pretty much inedible just in case other customers said something. She came back and let us know the cook said it was fine. Oh well we tried. My daughter had popcorn chicken, French fries and garlic bread and she said that the popcorn chicken and garlic bread was really hard. The rest of us tried it and agreed. The rest of the food wasn't bad but wasn't the greatest either. We will not be going back. The staff were very pleasant though.

Full honest review here…read more I don't remember the waitress' name, but to whoever was literally the only server today, May 9th, you were amazing. She was so sweet, helpful, so upbeat, running around the restaurant and being very nice and personable, even to people who were complaining about the wait time that is literally out of her control. And you read that right, the ONLY server. That's one thing to expect about coming here it seems, since that's a trend in all the other reviews, plus I have family that live here that say the same thing, if you come here, expect to be here for like two hours minimum. Cuz if the kitchen is staffed as well as the serving staff, then there's probably only one guy back there making the food. I think we waited about an hour for the food to come out. Mind you, the four of us all got the same thing, the burger, no special requests. I noticed everyone else's took about the same time. One table next to us actually had one entree come out, then another like twenty minutes later, then another like 20 minutes after that, so that table wasn't even served all at once. The food: great, everything tasted super fresh, I heard they actually source their stuff as organically and local as possible, I could be wrong, but at the very least it tasted like it. Nothing tasted heavy or bad. Is it overpriced? A little, but it was good quality in my opinion so I have no complaints about that. (There are no prices on the menu btw, so it's a guessing game until the check comes out). The ambience is great, super cute, nice enough to dress up for, but for those of us that flew 3 hours and drove another 2 hours to the hotel and didn't feel like changing, it's also good for casual. Loved the look of the place. So my cons: - As noted, the insane wait times, I don't recommend if you're dying of hunger. - Dessert is not worth it in my opinion, we had the chai tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The chocolate cake tasted like it was just some frozen cake you'd pick up at a store, nothing special. The chai tiramisu was interesting, but not worth $13 for a tiny cup worth of it, I wouldn't get either of them again. And last note to anyone still reading this, be nice to your servers. They're doing their best with what they can control. They can't control how quick the bartender brings your bottle or drink to the table. They can't control how quick the food comes from the kitchen. And I'm sure if every night is like tonight where they only have one server, that server is already losing their mind trying to keep up with all the tables. If anything, this speaks more to the management and their incapability of staffing accordingly to the restaurant's needs. That needs work. I'm looking at you, unknown Harvest Tavern manager people So overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I also wouldn't avoid it. I'd go back knowing the expectations from my experience. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

When we checked into the hotel, we overheard a couple complaining to the front desk that they hadn't been served and so this was a bit of a red flag but we decided to go forward anyways with dinner reservations. We made the reservation for 5pm since we figured that if we were the first ones at the restaurant then we would probably be served. The server was super friendly and we were in fact the first people at the restaurant. We got a nice table by the window, but a weird thing happened. The rest of the restaurant was completely empty since we were the first ones at the restaurant and the next two couples that arrived for dinner were seated directly next to us. There was an entire restaurant and we were all crowded together in one corner. We all laughed a bit when we realized this and acknowledged that it was a bit strange but wasn't affecting our meal. We got the house breads and the souffle shrimp cake for our appetizers. Our waitress tried to warn us that we shouldn't order the shrimp cake which was really strange- I obliviously didn't realize she was trying to steer me away until later until she had taken our order. More weirdness. When the dish came out it was actually very good so I'm not sure why this dish was discouraged. My entree of the scallops was delicious and my husband had the salmon which was also tasty. We also ordered a side of the zucchini cake but this never came- when we asked about it, the waitress let us know that the first order was burned so they had to remake it. By that point, we had been there for almost 2.5 hours so we were ready to leave and declined the remake. It was a strange dinner experience. The staff were definitely understaffed (the restaurant filled in as the night went on) and our early bird dinner time didn't help us avoid long wait times. It was a pretty pricey dinner and although the food was good, we'll skip the hotel restaurant in the future.

Cold Mountain Cafe is a perfect stop to turn a long drive into a nice date!…read more We definitely recommend this place, it's a solid 4 that comes off like a 5! We've passed through Bethlehem, NH a few of times as we've traveled between Maine and New Hampshire. A couple weeks ago I noticed a glowing little eatery as we hurried west on Route 2 en route to UMass Amherst. I didn't catch the name of the restaurant I'd noticed, but our return l timing worked to stop for dinner in Bethlehem, so as we headed back, Cary scoured Google and Yelp ...and based upon the menus and ambiance, we settled on Cold Mountain Cafe. Turns out this was the spot. Inside was just as welcoming as I'd anticipated. Nothing against small New England towns, ...but IMO you can't EXPECT a well-rounded professional restaurant package when you're in "two-hours-from-anywhere, New Hampshire". And IMHO, sometimes these fresh-movement country places are presented like funky hippy brightly lit hardscaped cafe's with busy chalkboard menus that look like 60's concert posters. Not Cold Mountain Cafe -the music, lighting and decor was perfectly contemporary ...relaxing ...inviting comfortable conversation. The menu and pricing were well thought out, offering an assortment of cultural fare with asian, french, American, East Indian entrees that ranged from smash-burger, pot pie comfort food, to bistro steak and seared scallops. Unexpected additions like bean cake and Indian lamb stew entrees offered a pleasant, funky twist. Entrees ranged from $19 to $38. The two drinks we tried were really great! I had the Brooklyn and Cary had the Espresso Lovers Martini. I think Cary put it perfectly when she said that the Brooklyn was like desert! The espresso martini was notable because it was made with rum, instead of vodka and it used fresh espresso, giving it a luscious Tia Maria feel. Both drinks had a wonderful silky smooth mouth feel. The waitstaff was not uniformed, but in semi-formal server attire with all black garments and waist aprons. The service was friendly, professional and attentive... our waitress brought us some warm crispy tender dinner rolls with garlicky seasoned oil dipping sauce, took our orders at our pace and checked in on us throughout the meal. The mushroom polenta app was great... smooth, creamy and fresh with balanced earthy woodsy and smoky notes. The pea soup was a bit brighter and fresher than I'm used to (growing up in Boston, my mom made the best pea soup ...a more hearty version with pork meat always made in the days following a smoked shoulder meal), but in the New England small town country, farm-fresh motif, we liked the bright, fresh pea flavors... Cary was concerned about what she would order because she was put off by the steak entree's smoked Gouda sauce. So she had the lamb stew, which was a compromise. Me? I'd spent the previous couple of days at a hotel hanging around UMass, which means a lot more carbs than I want... smash burgers, burritos, eggs Bennies... oof! So I definitely was feeling like something light... and decided to be crazy and try the bean cake. Cary's stew was nice. It didn't hit you over the head, but it had balanced signature Indian flavors, and was nicely presented. We're not volume-conscious but both thought it could have had a couple more pieces of lamb. I enjoyed my bean cake -although I don't really have anything to compare it to. The waitress said it was hearty, so I rolled the dice. I'd probably try it again... it flavorful and satisfying. The chèvre and ginger dressing supplied a good level of moisture and flavor notes to the breaded spiced bean and rice patty. I'd add that the plating on a bed of fresh spinach presented a little bit of a challenge as I had to pierce a few baby fresh spinach leafs at a time, then add the bean cake... but it was manageable... The menu changes seasonally, so we're looking forward to checking in on our next pan New England journey.

They had good music on and it's got an outside porch although we ate inside because it was on the warm side. I've had a lot of barbecue and I know it's good bye any standards... But for New England, it might be the very best I've had... The brisket, the pulled pork, and the ribs were all outstanding! I consider the Mac very good. The slaw was good, not exceptional like the other stuff, but that's probably a taste preference. And while I'm not gonna say that this place is cheap, but barbecue can be very very expensive in 2025, this seemed fairly priced. I never say that anymore.
