I should have read the reviews. We went on Sunday and learned that there was but the brunch menu. Not the large menu online but one with I believe six choices. Not really suitable for a vegetarian. We were seated promptly, and asked for coffee. The coffee was scalding. We added ice and learned it was hot and horrible coffee. We placed our order and waited 30 minutes for our food. Server never came by to tell us this, I had to find him at the front of the restaurant hanging out with some friends. He went and checked on the order and it arrived 5 minutes later. Ordered the eggs, toast, seasoned tator tots and fruit bowl. Toast only available in white bread and the seasoned tator tots were over fried plain tator tots that were served cold. The fruit bowl was mostly green grapes with a few blueberries and strawberries. Omni should close this place and start over. Lazy staff, ordinary and over priced food. Maybe we weren't expecting much but we were really happy with everything we ordered. Whole belly clams were fresh, lightly battered, sweet and delicious. Husband got the lamb burger and it looked great - he loved it. I got the fish taco and loved them (could have used a bit more crema or another something but minor and I could have asked). Plus they have the best fries I've had in a half-decade: perfectly crispy exterior, perfectly fluffy interior. Topped it off with a to-die-for peanut butter pie. Quite disappointing. Portions were fine but the food was entirely ordinary. What they called a Reuben would not qualify at any other restaurant I frequent. We were in need of late day lunch/early dinner and noticed that Fabyan's was open. There were just 2 cars in the lot for 330 in the afternoon during school vacation. We were quickly seated in the restaurant at area vs the bar, and we're the only people there. They filled our water glasses and gave us a menu. We looked over the menu and asked what the specials were. They didn't have any. The menu was extremely limited. We left a tip and advised the waitress that there was nothing in the menu that I could eat. Not even a chicken sandwich. This restaurant has been closed since before the Covid 19 pandemic. We were at a friend's condo and heard that Fabyans would begin serving brunch on Sundays. We decided to go and what a treat it was. This was the first time brunch was ever served at Faybans. Great to see the Omni mgnt supporting this creative decision. In total, Fabyans menu has improved with many new menu items. Service is good, staff is welcoming and friendly. Good lord this place was AWFUL - Omni should be embarrassed to be associated with this. We stopped in for brunch on our departure day. I got the basic breakfast which is choice of way eggs, toast (apparently not choice as when I asked what kind of toast they had I was told "regular toast" Ok then), bacon or ham, and tots. I was served - scrambled eggs that were clearly liquid from a box, I asked to add cheese which was added in the form of 2 partially melted yellow craft singles laid over the eggs, 2 small strips of bacon, a decent serving of tots (which were good) and 1 piece of toast cut in half which I was irritated by until I bit into it. I gave birth in 2020 at the height of the COVID pandemic and we weren't allowed to leave our rooms so could only eat hospital food for 5 days and the only thing at all appealing on the menu was grilled cheese so that's what we got every day - as basic as a grilled cheese is, it always had some off smell/taste that could only be described as "hospital" that I had never tasted before or again - until today as that's exactly what the 1 piece of toast I was given smelled/tasted like. My husband tried it and as soon as he put it to his face, before even trying it, instantly recognized the smell. I didn't know what it was then and I still don't know what it is now but two bites into one half of the one piece of toast I was done. My husband said his brunch burger was decent though messy and it did look good. I got a mimosas flight which is a good value at $15 - I didn't realize it would be 3 full sized mimosas when I ordered it! But that wasn't enough to save this. Never again! read more

Came here after going up Mt. Washington - it was nearest the cograil station. Numerous issues with lunch today. Six of us went together for lunch - two ordered pizzas. Both pizzas were overcooked and were blackened on about 1/3 of the pizza. The BBQ pulled pork was dry. So half of the lunch items were mediocre at best. They buy the clam chowder from someplace else and charge $12 for a bowl. It was good but not better than average. When they brought the check they added a 20% gratuity - before tax. So then they charged tax on the gratuity, although when reporting sales to tax purposes they back out gratuities. So they're intentionally bloating their revenue. There are fun sounding places in nearby towns - we should've gone elsewhere. read more

We went to Sunday Brunch arriving at 11:30. There were two other tables dining in the restaurant and they were finished and about to leave. We waited 15 minutes before a server poured water and took our drink menu. Then we waited another 10 minutes before our order was taken. We waited another 20 minutes before our food arrived. We ordered simple 2 eggs with ham and tot breakfast which they should have been able to cook in 5 minutes as we were the only table in the restaurant at this time. The food was very basic, 2 eggs, dry white toast, sauteed ham chunks, and frozen tater tots. My husband complained that his ice coffee tasted like it came from a powder and asked for a regular coffee instead. They charged him $8 for the horrible iced coffee and another $6 for a plain cup of coffee. The bill was over $70 (I did have a mimosa flight for $15). This was not worth the money! This restaurant has been taken over by Omni and I'm going to write to them as well as this is not the level of service or food I expect from an Omni property. Do not waste your money here, read more

Contrary to other reviews we found the food to be fine. The service was very friendly. The BBQ sampler was tasty and enough food for two at $30. The waiter even recommends it for two. The IPA draft was great. The restaurant is owned by Omni hotels as it is very close to the Omni Mt Washington Hotel. Like many businesses these days they struggle to find enough help. We stumbled upon fabyan's by accident after leaving the cog way. This place needs major work. You cant even tell it's a restaurant, or in business, because the outside hasn't been updated in probably 40 years. Paint is chipping away from the building. It looks old and dank. The food was no better. I ordered pretzel sticks for an appetizer. Meatloaf, Mac and cheese, cornbread were ordered for the main course. The pretzels were brought out with the main meal, not as an appetizer. The pretzels were decent, but cold. The main meal was horrendous. My meatloaf was grey, absolutely burnt to a black crisp on the bottom. It looked like a pile of dog vomit. The only flavor was smoke from the grill. The Mac and cheese was good but cold. The pickled vegetables were refrigerated, ice cold. They didn't go well with the meal at all. The cornbread was decent. It was a typical sweet cornbread you find in these parts. It tasted like sweet cake. The service was awful. After the meal was brought our waiter NEVER checked on us again until it was time to pay. We have been here many times. The service and food are always good and this past visit was no exception however, the beer prices are outrageous. Had the pigs ear, brown ale which is a local brew from Woodstock. And for two drafts, it was $24. We were just at the brewery itself and have had this beer at many other establishments for almost half the price $12 for draft beer is insane. If you were going to charge that much, you should at least put the prices on the menu so customers are not shocked. read more

I had a bad experience here along with 2 others. The food was very expensive,but the problem was the waitress and having to ask 3 times for our coffee that was the start of our service. The coffee was $6.00 and it was a k-cup. The half & half was bad. I ordered a pizza which came ,but it was a frozen pizza and very very thin. I ordered that because it was only $13.00I did not realize it was actually a frozen pizza. The burgers were $25.00 dollars so I decided a burger isn't worth that. I'm glad I didn't because who knows if that was a frozen burger. She messed up our bill and it took forever to get her to fix and bring the right one to us. There was only 1 other person in the place at the beginning so there wasn't an excuse of the place being busy. Fabyan's is like the edible plant in the forest you find and eat because you aren't sure when the heck you'll eat next. In the middle of essentially nowhere, with Mt. Washington as its backdrop, Fabyan's is the light at the end of the cellphone-receptionless tunnel when you've been driving through the forests of New Hampshire Neverland for hours and are starving. Ample parking, free Wi-Fi, and a fun railroad theme bring together this unexpected little place. We came here the night before hiking Mt. Washington and were surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Sitting in the lounge, the very friendly bartender took our orders for both drinks and food, which were out in a very reasonable amount of time. I got the veggie burger and the upgrade from fries to onion rings, and HOLY MOLY were those rings good. Definitely not the stellar choice of something to eat the night before hiking the highest point east of the Mississippi, but whatevs. It was worth it. Boyf got the burger. He said it was very good. I will forever in my head pronounce this Fahhhhbyahhhhns, though it is said like Fabian's. Just a warning, so you don't humiliate yourself. (I did that for you already.) For a random, rainy Friday night, I was pleased with the service and food. The prices were also heckin reasonable, considering this was the only restaurant for miles (no exaggeration). It was also classy, but not classy enough to make me feel like a dirtbag in my sneakers. Two stars for the dry rub wings, they were crispy and had good flavor, although very spicy, which wasn't made clear on the menu. The poutine was inedible and cold, the melted snowman cocktail was terrible. And the "delicious" strawberry lemonade the waitress recommended tasted as if it was made with a powder that hadn't even fully dissolved. There aren't many dining options in this area, but it's worth it to drive further out to get food you can eat! read more

I do not agree with the first reviewer. Must have been an off day. After a long day out snowmobiling, my friends and I went into Fabyan's (or Faby Baby's, as I call it) to warm up and grab a bite and libations. Fabyan's is a cool old train station in the shadow of Mt Washington, now divided up into a pub and restaurant. The pub side was packed with skiers and snowmobilers, eating and watching the game on the flat screen. We ate in the restaurant side which was more quiet. The menu, is small, limited, to mostly, pub grub. I did also notice some "specialty" items such as high end steaks as fresh BBQ ribs and pulled pork. They smoke it on-site (see photo) and it looked and smelled wonderful. We all ordered mostly pub fare. I had the french onion soup gratin which was good. I think it was missing something in flavor, but was still a good dish. Next was the loaded potato skins with bacon, cheese, and scallions. Again, very good. Portion, not as big as I would have hoped. Dennis got a bread bowl full of chili which was rich and had good flavors. Not too hot. My friends both got burgers. Cooked "PERFECTLY" and the fries were "SUPER". One said it was the "best burger he ever had" and this was big for a picky 14 year old eater. The service was fast. Not too friendly. Our older waitress was good and efficient however surly. The experience is fun. Toy model trains roll above over the tables as well as old local photos decorate the walls of years past. read more

WW!!! IN-CRED-I-BLE!!! We went to Fabyan's with a large group of 10!! I think I tried just about everyone's food and it was all MOUTH WATERING DELICIOUS!!! It's true the prices were a bit high but I have never been so blown away by every single tender, flavorful Incredibly delicious bite I took!! I wish this restaurant was closer to home - so we could go there more frequently.... At least we know where to go when we are up North again!! Thank you Fabyan's for one hell of an amazing lunch with some of our closest friends!! Making memories like this is definitely one of my favorite things to do!! read more

We were there about a week ago and just looked on the gps under "food", there wasn't much in this area and my expectations were low. We ordered the bbq sampler, $30. I have lived in Texas, South Carolina and traveled quite a bit, but this may have been the best bbq I have ever had. The brisket was generous and every piece was tender, pulled pork flavor was great, each meat had its own flavor and texture, at some bbq places it all tastes the same. My husband and I eventually gave up, we couldn't finished it all. I just glanced at the other reviews and I admit it does appear like an old train station, maybe because its an old train station. It has a toy train running around the building, its adorable, bring the kids. One of my best friends in the whole world, her husband, and I stopped here for a bite to eat before a night out. We sat at the bar because it was more convenient to watch the Pats that way. The menu didn't seem to have too many options. Perhaps it was an abbreviated bar menu? I ordered a glass of wine, which was fairly pricey. All three of us got burgers, which were impossible to eat without making a mess because they were so piled high with toppings. The steak fries were great. Very very good restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Our family of 9 just got done with the cog wheel train just up the mountain and decided to stop here for dinner on our way back to Maine. They seated us all together outside but it started to rain and they moved us inside with no problems. Food was outstanding. Best asparagus I've ever eaten, and everyone in the family loved their meals....even the kids! Solid beer selection as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Our group had the pulled pork-some in a bowl, some in a plate with sides. It was excellent! Service came with a smile, prompt and courteous. A train travels on a track around the top of the walls and goes from one room to the next, you are served in cast iron bowls or metal trays reminiscent of the old railroad days. What a pleasant surprise. We stumbled into Fabyan's Station after a morning of dog sledding. We were guests at the Mount WASHINGTON Resort and weren't prepared to go back to the resort for the same old menu. Unbeknownst to us this restaurant was actually part of the resort. This was by far the best food we had all weekend. We enjoyed burgers, Italian wedding soup, poutine, and Mac and cheese. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly. There was a huge variety of food on the menu as well. If you are in the area or at the resort, don't miss this place. read more

Hello Bretton Woods and Omni corporate overlords. I hope you read this (doubtful) What has happened to Fabyans? I'll share one visit in detail. I have spent my entire winter at my condo this year and Fabyans has let me down each and every time. First off I was with a party if 12 people. The unfortunate of us that ordered pork got sick. But that is after all of us sent our pork back because it was uncooked and cold. I wanted to vomit when the manager said "our chef is not in we will let him know tomorrow" seriously??? Obviously our meal was free. But my precious time of fighting several other house guests (who got pork) for use of the toilets all night was not. The bathroom also (@ fabyans) was a disgrace. The urinal did not flush and there was a days worth of trash from trash bin that was there the day before. Your bar tender also sucks and has little to no knowledge of how to even make the drinks listed in your drink menu. Why even have a drink menu with house drinks of every time I come in it's a crap shoot on what abortion in a glass I'm going to get while spending 12-16 a glass. So that is one trip. The previous ones this winter have all left me depressed and angry and I have dined in at least 6 times this winter. There are only a handful of food options up here and so far each and everyone of them has let me, my friends and family down this winter. I hope there is not something wrong with omni food and beverage services because all logical reason points to that. I will say that the local servers and manager at fabyans seem to know that there are issues and they are great and offer fantastic service. Dont think I'm insane. I'm a good customer. I tip 22% even if the service and meal sucks. But a line in the sand has to be drawn. You have some Philippino teenager who is not a chef fucking around with pork and popping it in a microwave to 30 seconds when its sent back. Seriously I peeked in the kitchen window and watched that. That is a death and lawsuit waiting to happen. I want to say I'll never be back to this place but since I vacation at the hotel and condos frequently I'll Obviously be back and I do pray you guys fix these issues before my next meal. Oh and if you want a non omni place to eat check out the iriving gas station. They make some decent food. read more

After a day of snowmobiling, we stopped by Fabyan's for a couple of drinks and some food. There was a convenient area to hang out snow gear and helmets, and we sat right down in the bar area. For an appetizer we ordered some wings, Buffalo and dry rub. The wings were my favorite, the buffalo sauce was delicious. The dry rub wings had an extremely flavorful seasoning and were fried to a perfect crisp. For dinner I tried the brisket with deviled Mac and cheese (mac with and cheese buffalo sauce) and potato salad. The brisket was okay, a little bit on the dry side and the flavor was a little lacking. It just didn't fall apart the way brisket usually does. The mac and cheese had a frozen mac and cheese consistency, but it tasted alright. Potato salad seemed store bought but was okay. Customer service seemed quick and rushed, and not very friendly even though wasn't very busy. After dinner we were handed the check immediately.. The waitress didn't seem too thrilled that we wanted to have one more drink before taking off. I would've understood if it were busy but it wasn't. This place was okay, it's convenient if you're riding the trails, or skiing nearby. I had a mediocre experience. Next time, if I were to come back, I'd just stick to wings and drinks. read more

We went there this evening looking for some food close to where we were staying. We stumbled upon Fabyan's Station strictly due to the proximity to where we were staying. We were greeted nicely by the staff. The water, drinks, and ordering were all excellent. The restaurant has a large potion of the menu highlighting their Barbeque that they smoke on site. We had a large group and from that we ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, and a burger. We were told that the brisket and the pulled pork were they signature items so when in Rome... anyway the brisket was presented on top of toast with a massive amount of fat surrounding and throughout the meat. By the time I removed all the fat I had cut the portion by half. If this was good brisket I would have been upset however this wasn't good brisket so although I wasn't happy i wasn't that upset either. The waiter did bring out a few more slices as he saw the mound of fat piled on my plate and felt bad for us. The burger was cold and cooked like a hockey puck and was inedible. In short the only thing that this restaurant is smoking is some of those funny cigarettes as they are certainly not smoking high quality meat. I am giving them 1 star simply because the waiter was a good waiter and decent person. read more
