Joy.. not sure if that's her real name or just the shop title, either way Joy is an amazing artist who is skilled at her craft. Her and all her assistance can sew.. I've gone to her multiple times over the years. Her work is impeccable. When I moved here in 2006 I needed someone to take some clothes in. I look through the yellow pages and I found her just recently. She took two pair of slacks for me. I go in try them on. She knows exactly what to do and it's complicated work. It's more than just taking them in at the waist and depending on style and pattern, it just can't cut if you don't know what you're doing and she does. I highly recommend her. I was in a pinch to get a formal dress hemmed in a few days and was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find somewhere that would be able to complete it in time. I called Joy Alterations on a Monday and they happily told me that they could get it done by Friday. I dropped the dress off at 5:30 on Monday, the fitting process went so smoothly, and the dress was perfect when I picked it up Friday at 3. My original tailor shuttered its doors last year and now my clothes are sick without expert hands to mend them. Joy Alterations came from a friends recommendation and now I have a new favorite place to get my expensive clothes fixed. I got a jacket patched and stitched up and a pair of jeans with crotch blowout repaired to perfect imperfection. I'm never buying any more clothes. i went in to get my pants hem and the waist fitted which was alot of money just tor that. the worker who was helping me was also helping another costumer but ther was also another worker helping him and she had no reason help the other costumer, so when i went to go ask a question to the worker that was helping me and she just hurried up and dissmissed me and was like "yes" to my question. But at the end of it all it came out to be 32 dollars and she wanted me to pay up front but i have never heard of paying up front to a alteration place. i told her well im ok then can u get my pants back she then tells me yes but you still have to pay a fitting fee. now i was not warned that there was a fitting fee and the paper saying there is a fitting fee for prom dress ect. Im also 15 years old so i got my dad she told him that we can pay half now and half later. Over all they could've gave me better servic. read more

This place is great! The owners are super nice and their work is great. I had a pair of dress slacks taken in because I had gone down several sizes after having my daughter (8 down to a 2). Not only did she take in the waist, but also took in all down the thigh to ensure a proper fit, I didn't even have to ask, she just knew that was the proper way to do it (I've had prior bad experiences with other places who only took in at the waist and left the thigh baggy, and I never wear those pairs because they look so ill-fitting). The ones I had altered here fit perfectly and you can't even tell they were altered. I highly recommend this place! read more

My wife went there to get a floor length dress hemmed and was insulted by the seamstress who was measuring her. She said she was going to get charged double because of her size. Double!!! That is ridiculous. And when she told her that she was not willing to pay that much, she was charged for "wasting their time." I get if there is a fitting fee if you don't use their service, but that should be clear before the fitting. I also get if they need to charge extra for her size, but that should also be clear before the fitting, not in the middle of it. I quite honestly have never been so angry about service in my life. read more

I have taken a number of pants to be hemmed and the service was amazing! I had a job interview coming up and even though I needed the pants in a rush they accommodated, even remembered that I had an interview when I picked them up and wished me good luck! If I could have given a zero, I would have. Very poor customer service, customer courtesy. The Seamstress did not indicate that there would be different prices depending on how big a person was until after she pinned up the dress of a costumer. She quoted a very expensive price to the customer "because you are so wide", and treated her very rudely. She would not give the customer her dress back until she paid a fee for "wasting her time". She should have at least kept the pins in for wasting the costomer's time and shaming her. I will never go there or recommend this place. read more
