Essentially, cutting the dress would cause all the beads to unravel. We talked through any options - we had only 1. Either create darts and "rouche" the dress on the sides (which would change the look entirely) or just leave it long and deal with it. The dress was lined, so I asked her to take up the liner. It was $30, which I suppose is good for her time, but in retrospect I probably could have done it myself for free at the library. The liner isn't visible, so it didn't need to be professionally done. We left it long. I dealt with it.

It's more than just taking them in at the waist and depending on style and pattern, it just can't cut if you don't know what you're doing and she does. I highly recommend her.
