I had made an appointment but per the signage on her door she does take in Walk ins. She altered my dress so wonderfully. When i had first bought the dress i was about 30 pounds heavier so she took in the dress and hemmed it so it was a little shorter (so that I don't trip over my own feet). I can't even tell that she had made any alterations but I can't surely feel it with the way it fits! I highly recommend her to do any alterations! read more

I had 3 pairs of pants hemmed, and they came out nicely. The only immediate complaint is that the shop is UBER small, and it's very hard to move around in there comfortably. There is nowhere to change, just a partition that you can see through, but the work was good. There is ample parking, and the pants were completed the day they were scheduled to be completed. Prices were a little higher than expected, but, again, the work was good. The location is optimal and very easy to access. read more

Unfortunately, I picked up my bridesmaid dress the day before I had to leave town for a wedding. It was still at least an inch too long, & the straps were also not sown in the same spot as where she had marked, so they were too long as well and wouldn't stay up. I paid well over $100 and didn't get even half the work I was expecting.... I can say that she took it in on the sides and that work was satisfactory. I had a pair of pants and shirt that needed tailored for a wedding. After some messages back and forth with places locally (and due to some time/location issues) I came here. Small shop with enough room for maybe three people. I was able to get changed and have the seamstress pin and mark all the areas that needed to be shortened/taken in. She made sure I was happy with all the adjustments we were going to do. I gave her my timeline and was very happy to hear that she could have it done within a week! With the wedding two weeks away this gave us time for corrections if needed. A week later I swung by, tried on the clothes and they look great, much much better than how they started. I'm from out-of-town but was attending a wedding in Indianapolis over a weekend last year. The dress I bought needed the sleeves altered and I didn't get it back from the seamstress until right before we were leaving. They still didn't fit the way I wanted them to so the first thing Friday morning when we arrived in Indiana, I went to the closest alterations spot to our hotel. It was a long-sleeve gown and it wasn't sure that it could be done in time for the wedding the next day. After explaining my predicament, Monica said she could have it done by the end of the same day. When I came back to try it on, the sleeves fit perfectly and you couldn't even tell they had been altered (twice). She did better quality work faster and for less than the first alteration. I took my daughter here to get her romper altered. For the price you pay them for alterations you expect for your garment to come out right. I trusted the seamstress with her recommendations. When the garment was finished she tried it on and the crouch was still unsatisfactory. I told her what I didn't like about it and I received no response. I asked for the detailed copy back and I was asked to sign. I wrote I'm not happy with the work. They have a sign that says professional seamstress. I would have to disagree. A professional would try to fix my concerns. Don't spend your money here. read more

Oh Man, you're not going to believe this. I live in Silicon Valley , but was in Indy over the weekend visiting my 19 yo daughter. My plans had me headed to New York Monday morning for a very important dinner with a world famous sports star! It had been a while since I wore my BEST SUIT so I tried it on Saturday night and of course It had Shrunk...(especially around the waistline). I woke up at 3am in a panic and realized that it was Sunday in Indianapolis and my plane is scheduled to leave at 6am Monday. All Dry Cleaners and Alterations were closed. But I went to Yelp at 7;00am and sent the same desparate email to 11 different companies. Honestly most didn't answer at all ...Two had auto replies saying Sorry - not sorry we're closed! But, happy days - I got a reply at 8:30 from Monica Rivera of L'Ateliere quoting a very reasonable price, and asking if i could be at her shop by 10:30. She was there early, and not only did she do an incredible job on my slacks, she offered to let out my suit jacket (it had shrunk also) and waited while I went back to my hotel. She had the entire ensemble professionally altered and pressed and ready in less that 2 hours! I tried it on and viola - looked like a million bucks. I can not recommend Monica and L'Alteliere enough for any of your repairs, alterations. It's expected that a fine tailor is highly skilled and professional, but it's an absolute bonus when the tailor is an incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful person. I use to take my clothing to this shop on the eastside for all of my alterations for years. I truly loved all the work that they did and I never had an issue. Then I went back and they were gone......so for the next few years I tried different alteration places but none were worth it. Horrible quality, too expensive and definitely not professional. So one day I decided to do my research and look into finding really good alterations shop to take my clothing to like I had years ago. That is when I saw such wonderful reviews about L'Ateliere Alternates and decided to take my things and give it a chance. Well to my surprise this is the same lady that did all of that amazing work at the alteration shop I use to go to on the eastside years ago. I was so thankful and happy to have found her.
