I like to come here for my clothing alterations and have for years. My theory is that this shop has…read morelived for years via word of mouth recommendations, which is great, but I'm a bit frustrated that they don't have any kind of digital presence to keep patrons updated, especially when things are changing consistently during the pandemic. Found out today that they are *closed Sunday-Tuesday*, but only after I drove over and was standing outside their door. Would recommend that they at least put a sign up on their door with their adjusted days/hours of being open, especially since I'm sure they want folks' business. That being said, the owner of the shop is the sweetest little lady and does very good quality work. She has advised me several times on what makes most sense with altering clothing and I'm always happy with the end result. It's a little pricey, but worth it if you really love the clothing piece and want to make it last a long time/look like it was made for you. They often have a cute little dog in the shop. For those wondering, I was told they're open Wednesday-Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.

The plackets were not shortened, and the new stitching was visibly coarse versus the original, which makes the shirts look like they were altered by a careless, blindfolded hack. And these are high quality garments. I am taking my business elsewhere and recommend you avoid this place for all but the crudest work where quality does not matter. Also, the staff (daughter?) had an offputting, haughty attitude. I am seriously considering discarding the altered garments, so value was abysmal.

I think there is a show/fitting room behind the retail area, as I observed a few teens enter the store and make haste down a hallway toward another room of which I could only manage a peek from my vantage point. Essentially, cutting the dress would cause all the beads to unravel. We talked through any options - we had only 1. Either create darts and "rouche" the dress on the sides (which would change the look entirely) or just leave it long and deal with it. The dress was lined, so I asked her to take up the liner. It was $30, which I suppose is good for her time, but in retrospect I probably could have done it myself for free at the library. The liner isn't visible, so it didn't need to be professionally done.
