I need a bridesmaids dress hemmed with about a months notice. I took it here, along with a blazer and a pair of pants that needed slight repairs. She gave me a date to come back and a ticket - when I returned on the date, everything was done and my total was only $62. I was floored by the price! The alternations I needed were minor, but she did a great job and you can't beat the value. read more

Wow! I had 6 hemmed, and they were the perfect length and done so quickly! Thank you, I appreciate your beautiful work! read more

I walked in today to get my uniform badges (4 in all) switched from an old blouse to new one. The person (proprietor I presume) said 2 weeks. I asked if 8 days would be possible since I have to wear the uniform on the 9th day. She angrily complained that "everyone wants their stuff early" and just shook head in disgust. She proceeded to grab a sales ticket, but I turned and walked out. If you can't do it, just politely say so. Geez. I don't think a 2-patches-a-week pace is an unreasonable request, but understand if she regretfully declined. A competitor down the street gladly accepted the job for the time requested. read more

I purchased a dress from Amazon and the train was super long. I didn't want to fidget with it all night at the gala that I was planning to attend. So by recommendation of a friend (Hey Amber!) I went to this alterations shop. I'm so glad I did. I went in and was told to try on my dress for the lady and when I came out she asked what did I want done. I told her I wanted the train shorter and the front slit higher (heyyy). She put the pins exactly where I told her and gave me a quote and my receipt for pickup. I came back a week and a half later and was pleasantly surprised. I don't really have many things that need alterations but when I do, I will surely come back here. The prices are VERY reasonable. read more

Professional Tailor & Alterations - After & Before of what my dress looked like. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

Horrible experience. I brought them my bridesmaid dress to hem and they made the dress too short on one side and too long on the other. They also frayed the fabric edge of the slit in the dress. They made a similar error when repairing a hem in a jumpsuit I brought them. The seam is not straight and the pant leg is now longer on one side and shorter on the other. I'm so disappointed with their tailoring and will not visit again. read more

My go to tailor in broad ripple! She's the sweetest and quickest lady in town. I've brought multiple types of garments to her and have always had great success. Most recently I dropped off three pairs of pants on a Saturday and picked them up ready to go mid-day Wednesday. I realize i paid a bit more of a rush but i needed them for a work trip. ($60 for the three pairs rushed). She's kind & helpful. Don't be taken aback by the interior of the establishment. It's professional quality & that's what is worthwhile about this location. I'll be back for my next tailoring needs! read more

This is a solid place to take your clothes if you need alterations done. I took a bridesmaid dress in for hemming and to take it in a bit and the seamstress was helpful and knowledgeable. It always seems a little daunting in alterations shops because there's always SO MANY CLOTHES around. However, my dress was ready when I expected and it wasn't and arm and a leg to pay for it. I've been gypped by other places before and it was nice to not have that happen here. I've got a ton of clothes that I need fixed so I'm sure I'll be back here soon. read more

Great service and always on time and good quality. The owner is very helpful and will provide you with honest answers

This is a small business that does great work. I have brought in heavily flared denim jeans to be hemmed, and on the other end of the spectrum two wedding suits to have the pants hemmed, sleeves shortened, and pants brought in a bit. Each time they said I could pick it up one week later and it was always ready on time for morning pick up. It doesn't seem you can get it faster than one week, so just plan ahead if something is quickly coming up as it seems to just be one to two people doing all of the alterations. I tried other shops though and the wait was longer. These were also great prices- it was $15 to hem the denim flared pants. It was $70 to get multiple alterations on the two suits (both pants hemmed, waist taken in, one set of sleeves shortened) and it was about $25 to get another pair of suit pants trimmed in to be slimmer. I just paid in full when dropping off the items each time with card. Overall great prices, open a good amount of hours, and very fast turnaround. I've had no problems with the items we picked up and will keep coming back here. read more

Literally the fastest, most affordable alterations shop in the Indianapolis area. I got my purse lining fixed on the spot when I walked in. I thought it would take weeks! So amazing. Will come here for all my needs in the future. read more

Professional Tailor & Alterations - You'd never know the lining had completely came apart from the purse! Beautifully done. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

This is literally the best alteration place in Indy. I have come here for about 7 years now. Unfortunately I do not know her name, but she is so good with the alterations. She is quick and efficient and very friendly. I put on a jumpsuit for her to mark it to get it altered and without even saying a word she already had pins in place within a minute and it looked fabulous. I've had bridesmaids dresses altered there, stitching of buttons on boots repaired there, amongst many other things. The price is extremely reasonable and the service is second to none. I no longer live in the Broadripple area but I still make the trip to bring all of my altering needs to this place. I am always pleased with the quality of my alterations. read more

This is my favorite alterations place to use. Extremely affordable and they are able to be flexible with the times and dates you need it available for (within reason of course). I've brought bathing suits, jumpsuits, dresses and we've even brought a vintage puffer jacket here to be resized, all done beautifully. This lady really knows her way around fabrics! read more

I have never felt the need to write a yelp review before this... I thrifted a dress which was too big for me so i took it here to have the waist tightened, length hemmed, and straps shortened. I came back a week later and tried it on and it looked nothing like it did when it was fitted on my body. she added two lines of stitching in the front which were crooked, didn't shorten the straps, and tightened it too far down my body so that it scrunched up on my waist. i told the lady working that it didn't fit me right and asked if there was anything she could do to fix it. she told me that it looked fine and that there's nothing more she can do. she told me that i wanted it to be tight so that's what i got. she charged me $54 (double the price of the dress) for her to butcher it. she also told me that i would look fine at prom (i'm not in highschool) which made me realize that she thought i was a teenager that she could be disrespectful towards. i would not recommend going here if you look young because they may not give you the same courtesy as an adult customer! i don't care that she messed up the dress but i do care about the fact that she was rude and offered me no discount or help fixing it. read more

Twenty years and the service has NEVER failed me! I've been going here since I was in high school, and my 20th reunion is creeping everrrrr closer. This is hands down the best professional tailor and alterations shop that I've visited in Indianapolis. My first experience was with a monstrosity of a show choir dress when I was 15. By some sort of sewing machine magic and a good darn eye for style, my blue satin dress (Yes, we looked like Smurfs) was transformed into something that was perfectly fitted and actually looked like it was designed just for me. I've been sold ever since. From bridesmaid dresses to ballgowns, school uniform pants to casual attire, I have taken everything under the sun to this shop. Each and every completed piece has more than exceeded my expectations. The service here is top-notch, and the prices are SUPER. Also, there's a pretty fast turnaround time with most alterations. Whether you need your pants hemmed, or your super-ugly bridesmaid dress made over, I promise this is the place for you! read more

Nice quality... clean space... great service! Nestled in Broad Ripple, this location is easily accessible to Glendale and BR Village. The customer service is top notch, and they deliver when you request it. I've patronized them about 3x before, and I've always been pleased with the quality of work. They are "slightly" pricey, but I've resolved that you get what you pay for. When I need a 2 day turnaround on multiple items, I'm ok with paying a little extra. read more

Imagine walking into an alterations spot and leaving within five minutes! Magic right!? Granted, I only had one dress to get altered, but I was still amazed. As soon as I walked out of the dressing room, she knew exactly what the dress needed without me saying a word! I was so amazed. When I picked up the dress, it was perfect! It was such a quick and easy process. And the dress was ready in days. She is also very sweet. I have been going to the same alterations spot forever, and now I will be switching my loyalties to this place! I'm so happy my friend recommended it to me! read more

At just under five feet and four inches in height, I am inbetween regular and petite sizes. Almost everything I buy must be hemmed! So needless to say I use Professional Tailor and Alternations services quite often, and have been doing so for about five years. The owner is thorough and quick in fitting your garment. Today she pinned up a bridesmaid dress me for me in a matter of a few minutes. I get the dress back in ten days, which honestly is the longest I have ever had to wait but it is a busy season! I've yet to have an issue with her work. Price? Can't be beat. My dress I took in today has two layers, one chiffon and will only cost me $30. Do not be afraid of the owner's lack of conversation! English is not her first language. You certainly won't have any issues communicating your alternation needs with her. She's been doing this whole sewing gig very well for quite a long while. Also do not be afraid of the interior of the establishment. It's a little run down, but I can assure you she is terrific! read more

They altered my duster length wool coat. Now it hits mid calf and I can wear it with any type of heel. They also made it smaller- it's perfectly sized and I can still layer lots under it on really cold days! I would use their services again. read more

I don't review service businesses very often but when one is consistently excellent, I have to show some love. We have been taking our tailoring and alterations items here for years. She does fabulous work and is always quick to complete it! With two boys who are hard on their clothes, we need alterations and repairs often. She even knows my children now and seems to like when I have them in tow...which can be crazy sometimes! We have taken in luggage as well and it was fully repaired. If you live in the area and are looking for a great alterations & tailor, please try them. You really will be pleased you did! read more

Great services ! A bit pricey but overall no complaints. I would definitely use them again

A great alterations/tailoring place in the Glendale/Broad-Ripple area. I went there after getting a quote at another place a few miles away. I needed a hem on a pair of pants as well as the waist to be let out. The first place tried to gouge me since I needed a quick turnaround. I indicated what I wanted and didn't even have to try my pants on. When I got my pants home they fit just as I had requested. This place was reasonable and professional. I will definitely be returning back. read more

Went to this place, to get a prom dressed tailored. The dress turned out amazing. Although, I would give this place a 5 star but the lady at the front was a bit frustrated that I wanted the dress done last minute. I understand I came in asking for a last minute tailor but You're tone and how you treat a customer is key to a great business. read more

This place is definitely not fancy, but they get the job done. I've been here several times now and am always impressed with the prices and fast turnaround. I needed a pair of pants altered in 3 days...it was an emergency! I thought I was going to an event and apparently I shrank. These were my favorite pants and I really wanted to wear them. Well, I did what every responsible adult would do. I turned to yelp to find the best Tailor within walking distance. Well, that didn't work...the place it sent me didn't have an operating sewing machine. So, I went back to my handy dandy phone and found this place. I called, she invited me to come down, I forgot my pants, I went home and picked up my pants, then I returned to start the process. She was able to alter my pants in 36 hours. She was super busy, but very accommodating to my stress level. I will always go here. Also, I didn't go to the event or any event after that where I needed my favorite pants. They're on standby for emergency adult dress up events. read more

I have been using these guys for my tailoring as well as any sewing project for the last 10 years. Always fair pricing, and the sewing/stitching work has been perfect. I created some designs for curtains for my daughter's poster bed, gave them the sketches and diagrams with exact measurements; they produced it perfectly. They always are my first choice. read more

In Yelp we trust. In local businesses we trust. In Nicole E I trusted her review of this place, when I needed a suit tailored, altered, brought in -- the whole 9. In two days they (being an amazingly kind, fun woman), transformed a suit into a suit made solely for me! I see having a local tailor as an absolute luxury, especially one who enjoys the work and doesn't miss a beat. read more

Check out my before and after photo. This company is AMAZING! I took my Marine Corps marathon turtleneck in to be altered. Loved the marathon but that green turtleneck was not wearable in the state in which it was given. They turned it into a nifty long sleeve tech jacket. They turn the unbearable to the wearable. They have my business forever! read more

Being the perfect combination of clumsy, tall and a non-sewist, I am a tailor's gold mine, forever tripping over the bottom of my pants or tearing holes in fabric after running into door knobs, nails, plants, etc. This location is close by and I've been seen right away when visiting early Saturday mornings. A recent tear in my pants only cost $2.00 and took 2 minutes to repair, and they've done an excellent job of hemming the extra-tall pants I need as to avoid further tripping. The owner is efficient, but friendly. I've not taken any challenging tailoring projects to this location, but often see customers in the shop, getting expensive-looking prom, formal and wedding apparel tailored, so it looks to have all facets of the business down. read more

I used to live in Broad Ripple and chose this place out of convenience. Now, I willingly drive 30-40 minutes simply because she is the best in town. Don't expect much in terms of the shop itself, and the owner is soft-spoken but polite. This is one of the places you come to out of loyalty. Consistent service, reasonable prices and reliable turnaround make this a gem. read more

This place is awesome and they do such a good job. I first started using this place because it was close to where I lived at the time. I have since moved, but I still drive across town to get alterations done here because I trust their service so much. I try something on and she immediately starts pinning and knows exactly how it needs to be altered. I'm usually in and out of there in like 10 minutes, not because they're in a rush to get me out the door, but because they're so efficient and know exactly what to do. Turnaround is quick and the pricing always seems very fair to me. I'm so glad I found this place. Highly recommend! read more
