I walked in today to get my uniform badges (4 in all) switched from an old blouse to new one. The person (proprietor I presume) said 2 weeks. I asked if 8 days would be possible since I have to wear the uniform on the 9th day. She angrily complained that "everyone wants their stuff early" and just shook head in disgust. She proceeded to grab a sales ticket, but I turned and walked out. If you can't do it, just politely say so. Geez. I don't think a 2-patches-a-week pace is an unreasonable request, but understand if she regretfully declined. A competitor down the street gladly accepted the job for the time requested. read more

I purchased a dress from Amazon and the train was super long. I didn't want to fidget with it all night at the gala that I was planning to attend. So by recommendation of a friend (Hey Amber!) I went to this alterations shop. I'm so glad I did. I went in and was told to try on my dress for the lady and when I came out she asked what did I want done. I told her I wanted the train shorter and the front slit higher (heyyy). She put the pins exactly where I told her and gave me a quote and my receipt for pickup. I came back a week and a half later and was pleasantly surprised. I don't really have many things that need alterations but when I do, I will surely come back here. Horrible experience. I brought them my bridesmaid dress to hem and they made the dress too short on one side and too long on the other. They also frayed the fabric edge of the slit in the dress. They made a similar error when repairing a hem in a jumpsuit I brought them. The seam is not straight and the pant leg is now longer on one side and shorter on the other. This is a solid place to take your clothes if you need alterations done. I took a bridesmaid dress in for hemming and to take it in a bit and the seamstress was helpful and knowledgeable. It always seems a little daunting in alterations shops because there's always SO MANY CLOTHES around. However, my dress was ready when I expected and it wasn't and arm and a leg to pay for it. I've been gypped by other places before and it was nice to not have that happen here. I've got a ton of clothes that I need fixed so I'm sure I'll be back here soon. read more

This is a small business that does great work. I have brought in heavily flared denim jeans to be hemmed, and on the other end of the spectrum two wedding suits to have the pants hemmed, sleeves shortened, and pants brought in a bit. Each time they said I could pick it up one week later and it was always ready on time for morning pick up. It doesn't seem you can get it faster than one week, so just plan ahead if something is quickly coming up as it seems to just be one to two people doing all of the alterations. I tried other shops though and the wait was longer. These were also great prices- it was $15 to hem the denim flared pants. It was $70 to get multiple alterations on the two suits (both pants hemmed, waist taken in, one set of sleeves shortened) and it was about $25 to get another pair of suit pants trimmed in to be slimmer. I just paid in full when dropping off the items each time with card. Overall great prices, open a good amount of hours, and very fast turnaround. I've had no problems with the items we picked up and will keep coming back here. read more

This is literally the best alteration place in Indy. I have come here for about 7 years now. Unfortunately I do not know her name, but she is so good with the alterations. She is quick and efficient and very friendly. I put on a jumpsuit for her to mark it to get it altered and without even saying a word she already had pins in place within a minute and it looked fabulous. I've had bridesmaids dresses altered there, stitching of buttons on boots repaired there, amongst many other things. The price is extremely reasonable and the service is second to none. I no longer live in the Broadripple area but I still make the trip to bring all of my altering needs to this place. I am always pleased with the quality of my alterations. read more

I have never felt the need to write a yelp review before this... I thrifted a dress which was too big for me so i took it here to have the waist tightened, length hemmed, and straps shortened. I came back a week later and tried it on and it looked nothing like it did when it was fitted on my body. she added two lines of stitching in the front which were crooked, didn't shorten the straps, and tightened it too far down my body so that it scrunched up on my waist. i told the lady working that it didn't fit me right and asked if there was anything she could do to fix it. she told me that it looked fine and that there's nothing more she can do. she told me that i wanted it to be tight so that's what i got. she charged me $54 (double the price of the dress) for her to butcher it. she also told me that i would look fine at prom (i'm not in highschool) which made me realize that she thought i was a teenager that she could be disrespectful towards. i would not recommend going here if you look young because they may not give you the same courtesy as an adult customer! i don't care that she messed up the dress but i do care about the fact that she was rude and offered me no discount or help fixing it. read more

My go to tailor in broad ripple! She's the sweetest and quickest lady in town. I've brought multiple types of garments to her and have always had great success. Most recently I dropped off three pairs of pants on a Saturday and picked them up ready to go mid-day Wednesday. I realize i paid a bit more of a rush but i needed them for a work trip. ($60 for the three pairs rushed). She's kind & helpful. Don't be taken aback by the interior of the establishment. It's professional quality & that's what is worthwhile about this location. At just under five feet and four inches in height, I am inbetween regular and petite sizes. Almost everything I buy must be hemmed! So needless to say I use Professional Tailor and Alternations services quite often, and have been doing so for about five years. The owner is thorough and quick in fitting your garment. Today she pinned up a bridesmaid dress me for me in a matter of a few minutes. I get the dress back in ten days, which honestly is the longest I have ever had to wait but it is a busy season! I've yet to have an issue with her work. Price? Can't be beat. My dress I took in today has two layers, one chiffon and will only cost me $30. Do not be afraid of the owner's lack of conversation! English is not her first language. You certainly won't have any issues communicating your alternation needs with her. She's been doing this whole sewing gig very well for quite a long while. She does fabulous work and is always quick to complete it! With two boys who are hard on their clothes, we need alterations and repairs often. She even knows my children now and seems to like when I have them in tow...which can be crazy sometimes! We have taken in luggage as well and it was fully repaired. A great alterations/tailoring place in the Glendale/Broad-Ripple area. I went there after getting a quote at another place a few miles away. I needed a hem on a pair of pants as well as the waist to be let out. The first place tried to gouge me since I needed a quick turnaround. I indicated what I wanted and didn't even have to try my pants on. When I got my pants home they fit just as I had requested. This place was reasonable and professional. Well, that didn't work...the place it sent me didn't have an operating sewing machine. So, I went back to my handy dandy phone and found this place. A recent tear in my pants only cost $2.00 and took 2 minutes to repair, and they've done an excellent job of hemming the extra-tall pants I need as to avoid further tripping.
