In just one fitting where he pinned the hem and the shoulders up, he had enough to do a major overhaul and resizing! Please, save your money, emotions, stress and time and try to find a different place for your wedding dress alterations. It was NOT a worthwhile or pleasant experience. The alterations ended up being mostly what I wanted, but the issues were customer service, timing, pricing and final result. During each visit except 1, the owner was extremely rude, always had an attitude, seemed annoyed we were there and acted like she hated us. All we did was show up and be as kind as we could. As far as the pricing, we paid over $1,200 for these alterations. INSANE. My dress was that price and it came from a fancy well-known shop in Carmel. We couldn't believe it. At the second visit, NOTHING was completed, and she didn't seem to realize beforehand. It was a wasted visit or maybe not because she wouldn't have realized nothing had been done. Due to their timing and not getting alterations completed in a timely manner, I did not get to pick up my dress until THREE days before my wedding. THREE. Unacceptable. I realized the day of my wedding that the final hem on the bottom wasn't completed, so it was too long and I kept tripping on it. Therefore, they still hadn't completely finished the alterations. Had a 5+ star experience with Diane at A Fitting Creation…read more I needed a repair made to a dress that I stepped on and caused a tear in the skirt. I made an appointment drop off and web made our way to A Fitting Creation. It's not located far from US 40. Diane has her own building adjacent to her home. It's clean and comfortable. It was a snowy/icy morning and Diane's husband made sure that a path was cleared and that I got inside safely. Drop off was easy. Diane discussed our options, depending upon how things worked out when she dug into the repair. I don't wasn't in a hurry to get the dress back at all. She called a few weeks later and the dress was complete. She had me try it on so that I could be sure everything was as it should be. The dress was great. I couldn't even tell where the repair had been made. Her fee was beyond reasonable. She offers a number of great services, including a mail in service if you just need something like a zipper or other repair that doesn't affect fit. She also has a day-of bridal service where she's with the entire bridal party to ensure there are no issues with fit or presentation. I highly recommend Diane and will look to her in the future. She's a kind and engaging woman, on top of being a talented seamstress.

Erin was great to work with and my gown fit like a glove the day of my wedding!…read more I was recommended to Erin by my now mother-in-law. Her daughter had her wedding gown altered by Erin. This must have been no easy task because her gown was allll beads and applique. So gorgeous! Erin has an eye for detail and allows for weight fluctuations in between fittings. My gown needed taken in at the bust and length shortened. In addition to everything fitting very nicely, she also fastened my rhinestone belt to my gown so it wouldn't move around but could also be removed after the wedding. Erin also takes the time to make sure you and the person helping you with your dress know exactly how the dress is secured. She even gave us some great pointers on how to make a perfect bow and how to use a crochet hook for quickly hooking buttons (of which there were tons on my dress). My wedding was on a Sunday when Erin's shop is closed, but Erin was nice enough to make herself available in order for my wedding coordinator to pick up my dress. As part of the cost of alterations, my dress and veil were steamed. They looked pristine the day of the wedding. Compared to other alterations shops in Indianapolis I would say Erin is on the more expensive side, but when you are in the shop for a fitting it is only you. No other brides sizing up you and judging your dress. No one rushing you in and out. It is calm and quiet, which to me is priceless. A great experience with Erin. Highly recommend.
