Suits have never really fit me how they should. Being a soccer player for majority of my life, and then getting into strength and conditioning after, finding a suit that fit around my upper body and thighs would either be too big or too small. To date, I have had Jin make 1 suit, 2 sport coats and at least 10 shirts for me. His selection of fabric is world-class. My suit is made of Loro Piana cotton, one sport coat is made of Harris Tweed and my unconstructed summer jacket is made from Sherry & Holland fabric. He also carries Zegna and a host of other textiles, too. (Speaking of Zegna, I bought a Made-to-Measure Zegna blazer and I would bet it have cost no more if Jin would have made it for me. Plus, it would have fit better and it would definitely last longer! I won't make that mistake again.) Not only is the selection of fabric amazing, but the fit is "spot on". As you'll read in other reviews, while Jin is an "old school" Master Tailor, he keeps up on modern trends, such as having higher arm holes in his jackets and sightly slimmer lapels. And now that his son Solomon is in the shop, I am sure that the advice and clothes made at Lee's will continue to be current while still being "correct". When it comes to tailoring a garment, Jin is just as dedicated as if he were making the item from scratch. I'm tall, so if I get a shirt as a gift, it usually comes in XXL. While the sleeves and body are long enough, the shirt is inevitably too "billowy". Jin not only takes the body of the shirt in, but he de-constructs the sleeves and alters those, as well. I've given Mr. Lee my business twice now. The first time was a simple repair on a cashmere sweater of mine that he did flawlessly, but the second was a little more complicated. As a Scotsman, I was married in a kilt. I had a nice Prince Charlie style jacket for it that was a bit too big in the sleeves. I would like to clarify one thing, the tailoring is good and the suit fits well. The reason for 2 stars is terrible customer service. There is absolutely no discussion to be had with the tailor. You take it or leave it is the kind of vibe you receive. Additionally, for every fitting, if anything needs to be changed, there is additional cost, which is bizarre as it defeats the purpose for having a custom tailored suit. So, the final price is usually higher than what it was decided upon before. I would have expected a better service for the amount of money that gets charged for the suit. read more

As anxious as I was to experience his quality, my experience was ruined after speaking with his son. Mr. Lee's story of building a business from scratch as an immigrant is remarkable. Apparently, his success has given his son an entitlement and arrogance that is nauseating. Although I'd love to have a local trusted custom clothier, I cannot support a business represented by an individual with such a reprehensible outlook on life. Based on the reviews of others, I expected so much more from Jin Lee. My BCBG jeans were butchered. He either sent them out somewhere else or had an apprentice do them. The right leg was noticeably shorter than the left and way too short for the wide leg trouser style jean. I contemplated going back for Jin to fix them but I undid the hem myself to re-do them with the adhesive stuff you iron on. I brought two suits to Lee's that he ruined. Lee was extremely expensive. I was very disappointed in his work and was given no refund for the cost of the suits or for his charge to alter them. For this of you who are going through a similar experience, you probably don't feel that you have any options on how to be compensated for the clothing that was damaged. Having had to go through this process myself, I figured I would let the rest of you in on what to do. First, assuming you paid on a credit or debit card, contact your credit card company and let them know you wish to file a dispute. Let them know that you feel that the services you paid for were performed in a negligent manner. This is a simple process that will only take a few minutes, However, it will only cover the cost of the alterations, not the cost of the clothing that was damaged. Second, contact they attorney general to file a consumer complaint. This can be done at http://www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/2434.htm The attorney general provides legal services to persons who have been harmed by negligent companies. Third, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This can be done at https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/ Lastly, file in small claims court. He will tell you this himself (which may be off-putting to some) but trust me, I have tried the competition - and they can't compete. He is literally in a class of his own and he knows it. It is the difference between a C-average student and an honors student with an A. One shop provides subpar work that requires multiple visits to get right, long turnaround times, and headaches. Lee's provides insanely fast turnaround, very competitive prices, and levels of handiwork that rival or exceed what is done on high-end men's clothing. The stitching in the cuff and tapering on the sleeves on a suit I took him looks like it came straight from Hickey Freeman, not an "alterations shop." That's because it came from Master Tailor Lee, who truly earns that title after working with him. Don't cheap out on clothes. And don't be cheap on getting them altered. It's worth the extra few bucks to go to the best. I'll be bringing him more to alter, including a quite expensive Isaia jacket and a Brooks Brothers suit - things I wouldn't dare risk at the competition who must employ blind elderly people with box cutters for their tailoring. You know who you are, and anyone reading this will as well. By the way, his selection of shoes and fabric offerings looks miles better than anyone else in town.
